  • Great Place

"Just got back from a great time in Puerto Rico. Great stay at the Marbella Club. Some quick bullet points for other VRBO searchers (like myself): -Owners Eileen and Al were very helpful with final accomodations, etc. Nice People. -Manager Kathy did a great job setting place up for us and having keys ready. -Unbelievable beautiful condo complex. Palm Trees, weather, pools, waves. Beautiful. Would have cost $600/night in Florida or Hawaii. -My 13 yr old son and I boogie boarded every day just outside the condo. :) -The Marbella club is truly exclusive. It is at the end of the road of condo complexes. Very safe. Security gates. No worries. -If you want to rent a golf cart to drive around, call Best Golf Cart. -We arrived Easter weekend which was very busy. By Monday it was not crowded at all. -Minor Issues mentioned in other reviews.--The beach near Marbella was eroded. However, there was another beach nearby if that's a priority.--The lock on the balcony doorwall didn't work. I didn't see this as a concern but probably something to fix. Overall . . . . we will be back!!!!! We loved it. Hope this helps. Thanks Again Eileen and Al !"

  • Beautiful views, great price

"This space has an amazing view. It was clean. It is old and a little rough around the edges but for the space and price it is worth it. It is tucked away in the beautiful mountains so plan on driving about an hour everywhere. We felt safe and the guards at the entrance were friendly. We walked to the nearby beach although it is not for swimming it still is beautiful. Due to the fact that it is tucked into the mountains do expect to hear many nature sounds. Air is only circulated by open windows which at night gets a little loud. The air conditioner in the master bedroom works great but is loud. If you are looking for a true Puerto Rico experience this offers it. You aren't city living at this place, which we loved. Bring extra bedding. Not a lot of kitchen appliances so don't plan on making big meals. Stock up on toilet paper and paper towels. Make sure and bring your own beach towels. Hot water works great for shower time. Truly, for the views and price you can't find anything better. Wifi works good. Cable TV is nice. We stayed for 8 nights. We are a family of 6. One room had 3 twin beds. One room had futon and full bed. Master had queen bed, light bedding on all beds so bring some extra. 2 bathrooms. 2 balconies. Main balcony is off of family room and is good size."

  • A Villa above all others - literally !

"This villa is excellent for many reasons, not the least of which is its location high on a hillside overlooking other villas below, part of the golf course, the tennis center off to the left , the ocean and the enchanting image of Vieques Island rising from the distant horizon. Spectacular views! The villa has three decks, but the two that overlook the view to the ocean will soon become your favorite places to hang out in this three level villa. A note on that : if stairs are an issue for you, this might not be the best place. That aside, the villa has what you will need for a pleasant stay; in addition to nicely decorated and spacious. Palmas del Mar is a nice drive 1 hour SE from San Juan. A lovely BIG development of many gated sub-developments, it is quite a nice asset for eastern PR. The development has 2 pro-designed golf courses, a huge tennis complex, a private Beach Club with pools, restaurant, and a great stretch of beach for walking. The pool in the villa complex at Palmanova Village is uncrowded and sits perched on yet another spectacular view. A short walk to the nearby Palmas Plaza gives you a small grocery store for the basic supplies, but also several small restaurants. Two are must-trys and highly regarded: La Pura Vida and a great Mexican place with great tacos and burritos - and oh yes, delicious Margaritas. Near the original Marina nearby are 3 great restaurants owned by an island celebrity chef. Be sure to try one, or all three places by Chez Daniel. Avoid eating at the Yacht Club unless you hear they have changed their restaurant management : our only disappointment during our stay. While walking the beach be sure to save time for some food and refreshments at the Bohio Bistro right on the sand. A great place to hang out to take in all the beauty that surrounds you at every glance. At the villa you can safely sleep with your windows open as there are no flying insects of any sort, and you can hear the rolling ocean waves in the distance, and until about midnight you will be serenaded by the melodious chirping of the national PR icon: the Coqui tree frog. You will be enchanted, and like we, vow to return to PR, and this great villa, for another stay. A short drive away is the Yunque National Rainforest - a must see if you like nature and hiking, in particular. Seniors: Your US National Park Service lifetime Senior Pass will get you in free (along with all the historic sites in Old San Juan walled city). Enjoy !"
