  • Wonderful vacation experience

"My new wife and I stayed at Beatrice's Coral Beach Apt in Isla Verde, PR for our honeymoon for 7 nights. We were very happy with our experience. The building is right on the beach, so just an elevator ride away. There is a nice, large community pool right before entering the beach area. A key card is required to access the Coral Beach property, so we always felt safe. We also felt safe on the beach and in the streets, as the area the condo is in seemed quite pleasant, and the people were friendly to tourists. I would recommend renting a car, as it paid for itself. We rented from Charlie Car Rental (within walking distance from the condo), and including gas we only paid around $200 for the week. It was well worth it, as we were able to drive to El Yunque Rainforest to explore and zip-line (just 45 minutes east), Luquillo Beach to relax (also about 45 min east), La Cueva del Indio (about 1 hr west...look it up -- best part of the trip for us -- gorgeous, although pictures won't do it justice!), Old San Juan (10 minutes), and other places. If you don't rent a car, Isla Verde is still enjoyable. Once you book with Beatrice, she provides a ton of information on places to see, eat, etc.; she was very helpful every step of the way. The condo itself was very pleasant. There was A/C, a nice bed, futon, 2 TVs, a nice kitchen, washer/dryer, and a decent wifi. Puerto Rico has a lot of beauty and good times to offer and Beatrice is very attentive and helpful."

  • Great location and value

"This is in an excellent location - near Shacks beach, Jobos Beach and stores and restaurants along 110. It's also in a very private enclave with plenty of parking and is very safe. We have stayed at a number of apartments in the area and were not disappointed with this property. There is a real dining area with table and chairs (not just a tiny table in the kitchen), a comfy sofa facing a decent size flat screen TV, and a full-size, well-equipped kitchen (and if you can't find it, just ask). Both bedrooms have AC, and Wi-Fi worked flawlessly while we were there. Outside is a lovely patio where you can relax and read a book. It is also located on the first floor, so good for people who do not want to climb steps. The owner and manager are very knowledgeable about the area and can help you with questions about scuba, horseback riding and (of course) surfing."

  • Relaxing comfort with magnificent views!

"I had never rented a home through VRBO and admit to being a little nervous not having ever seen the home prior to our arrival. Several people in our group had been to Rincon before and thought the location and homes size would work well for us. When we drove up to the house I was instantly relieved at what I saw. The home sits up on a hillside and offers beautiful views at every turn. The pictures really do not due the home justice! Everything we needed was right there for us and and made for a comfortable stay. The home was clean and up to date and the layout of the house was perfect for our group too. Our stay was a trip that was organized for my 8yr old son and a group of older guys on his surf team to help in his development. The 2 lower level bedrooms were perfect for two young men that were alone for the trip, the 2 second floor bedrooms were occupied by two couples and my son and us stayed on the 3rd floor. Everyone had enough space of their own and plenty of room to spread out without ever feeling like we were on top of each other. The location of the house worked for us and was an easy travel to the more than a dozen surf breaks they surfed during our stay. Most of our days were spent a breaks further north due to the swell conditions but it was an easy enough drive to make. Kami was super helpful throughout the process as we prepared to go with directions and just simply her prompt replies to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this home to others and don't think anyone would be disappointed. It may not be right on the beach but the views, the space and overall comfort of the home more than make up for the short drive to the closest beaches."

  • Condado

"This condo is even more spacious and beautiful than the pictures show. It is literally steps away from a beautiful beach and 3 of the 4 rooms have an ocean view. We felt very safe in the gated property and noticed security guards on the property every night. The condo is located in close proximity to fancy restaurants, the airport and clubs/bars. I highly recommend this condo. The only complaints I have is that the owner of the property is impossible to get a hold of and never answered any of my phone calls. It took her over 3 days to return my call. Also, the AC does not make it over into the living room or kitchen so it gets pretty hot."

Puerto Rico Travel Tips

Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals

Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.

Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas

The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.

Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals

The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.

Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Puerto Rico

If you have a large group of friends traveling together or are planning a wedding, you can secure a villa that is spacious enough to accommodate everyone. You can wake up each morning in the privacy of your own home and enjoy breakfast out on the deck. Many of the villas are fully serviced with housekeepers who can take care of all the household tasks including cleaning, shopping and preparing meals.
