  • Good location, good value!

"Our family of 5 stayed at the condo in Luquillo for 2 days (we wished we had stayed at this location longer!). The condo is conveniently located near the beach. The 2bedrooms comfortably accomodated our family by using the fold-out extra bed. There were enough towels as well as beach towels for us all (bring shampoo...) We appreciated the use of the washing machine/dryer as well. Ruben has some snorkel gear available for use, as well as a few beach chairs and coolers...saved us some money there! The snorkeling is OK just behind the food Kiosks, at the nearby public beach- a little murky, due to weather, and activity.(FYI...keep an eye on your personal items at the beach, as our own snorkel gear was stolen -from a different public beach, while unattended) We purchased a boogie board at the Walmart just a few miles from the condo...good waves at the beach up the street, right by the condo.. watch for rip currents. The location is really good, near beach, El Yunke rain forest, Fajardo -catamaran snorkel tours or Bio bay kayaking, or the ferry to Vieques or Culebra. It also has a parking space! At first I was concerned about safety, as we saw the bars on the windows... but that is very common in Puerto Rico, and I really felt safe and secure there. The kitchen has the basics for cooking. We ate breakfast there, and made our lunches and dinner once. We also ate at the resturant down the street, the El Flamboyan (coupons in the magazine on the bookcase) as well as at the Kioskos. Ruben was good at communicating, and was very accomodating. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!!! Pam and family"

  • Beautiful views

"This place is fantastic!! Only 1/2 hr from San Juan and the views driving in let alone once you arrive at the house are phenominal. It's very easy to get to any part of the island from here. Guavate is home to the roasted pig resteraunts which you pass by on the way to the property. Very easy to get to and Joe the care taker is great too. If your looking for a place to stay and capture some the islands local color this is the place to do it."

  • Amazing getaway!!!. Perfect location

"I am originally from Puerto Rico and visit the Island twice a year. I have stayed in numerous places around the island. I must say this is the best overall when you take location of the Villa, accommodations (Gorgeous place), and easy access to many beautiful sites within the island. El Yunke rainforest was so close that we were able to hike it just about every morning before heading to the beach. So many great restaurants withing short driving distance with amazing “comida criolla" food- ie. La Parilla. Luquillo beach, Los Kioskos, Fajardo, La Parquera , easy drive to the ferry that’ll take you to Culebra's Flamenco Beach and I could go on and on and again all these places are within easy access/drive from Rio Mar. The villa was amazing, a lot better than advertised. It is a spacious place with an amazing view. We soaked in the view every morning while having our coffee and breakfast- ah the best. The kitchen was perfect with everything you need to cook a great meal. I could go on and on about the villa which truly is a home away from home. The owner was so friendly and caring, we were received at the villa even late at night. The place was all ready for us to enjoy. Eva's(Owner) main goal was for us to enjoy our stay, she call me during the stay to be sure we were having fun and enjoying the place. We found our next destination!! Thank you Ah Almost forgot - The golf course is amazing. Yes,18 holes of golf by the ocean is a must do."

  • Top Notch Accommodations!

"This condo exceeded our expectations. It was impeccably clean, well-appointed and picturesque which made for a wonderful vacation. For our family of three it was more than enough space for everyone. As the other reviewers have stated, the condo is stocked with everything you need. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony every morning with my coffee to view and listen to the teal waters. The beach is secluded, serene and well maintained as I saw the groundskeeper rake the sand every morning. We rented a car and got to see more of the "authentic" Puerto Rico. We did an Old San Juan Bay boat tour, Horseback riding on the beach at Rancho Bueno Vista located at the Palmas del Mar Resort in Humacao and visited the La Coca Falls waterfall at the El Yunque National Forest. We had dinner at Don Pepe's located in Rio Grande and it was delightful. We also had dinner TWICE at La Parrilla located at Luquillo Beach Kiosk 2 because the grilled langosta lobster was just that good! We had breakfast at the Coco Sweet Bakery and Lluvia Deli Bar & Artefacto both located in Rio Grande and both were excellent. One tip --GPS is not always spot on in Puerto Rico. It will get you in the general vicinity so keep a look out as you approach your destination. Overall we loved our time in Puerto Rico. Edgardo the condo owner was responsive, accommodating and always available to us which made for a worry free relaxing vacation. We would definitely stay at his condo again and again and again without hesitation."

Puerto Rico Travel Tips

Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals

Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.

Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas

The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.

Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals

The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.

Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Puerto Rico

There are some definite advantages to renting a vacation home in Puerto Rico. If you have a large group of friends traveling together or are planning a wedding, you can secure a villa that is spacious enough to accommodate everyone. You can wake up each morning in the privacy of your own home and enjoy breakfast out on the deck. Many of the villas are fully serviced with housekeepers who can take care of all the household tasks including cleaning, shopping and preparing meals. Most of the vacation homes are beautifully furnished with stylish finishes and top-of-the-range appliances. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms ensure that everyone in your travel party can enjoy a level of privacy. Enjoy a vacation on your own time where you don't need to get up in time for breakfast if you don't want to. It is the best way to enjoy vacation on this tropical island.
