"I am a frequent visitor in San Juan and have stayed at several condos around the Ashford area, and I can honestly say this has been the best so far. I recently stayed here and absolutely enjoyed my time. Bright, clean and with a beautiful ocean view. The building is right in the middle of Ashford. Nearby is Bar Gitano and El Barril (hotspots for dinner and drinks). I felt it was safe and secure; there was convenient access in and out of the building, plus they have 24 hour security. Oscar was friendly and courteous, very easy to get ahold off with any question. On my last day there, my I had missed my flight, and contacted Oscar if I could stay another night. There was an immediate response from him and he was kind enough to drive to the building and personally open the apartment for me when I got back from the airport, after missing my flight. In addition, I forgot an item in the apartment, and he made sure to mail it back to me! I would definitely stay here again without hesitation."

  • Wonderful stay!

"I rented this condo for a bachelorette party and it slept 8 girls comfortably. It's much more spacious than the pictures depict. My only complaint is that the A/C in the living room doesn't get that cold. The dryer is also near by so if you have that on, the living room won't get cold. After the drying was done, it started to cool down but the rooms stay very cold. The condo is right on the beach, guarded with security at night, and within walking distance to everything you'll need such as walgreens, great restaurants, great shops, liquor stores, etc. Sidenote: there are 3 locks you have to go through every time you enter or exit the condo. Minerva was a great host and very responsive to my inquiries once I got there about how to turn on the master bath light, the A/C, etc. She even had her brother come look at the A/C unit for me. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

  • Perfect getaway for families.

"Fully equiped, cozy and confortable! It's trully your "home away"! The owners make all within their reach to make you feel at home! They even provide some treats and suppplies. The condominium is nice and safe, but a car (and a GPS) is required since there are no restaurants, markets or shopping malls in the near surroudings. A car is required anyway, in my opinion, if you like to explore the island and it's many attractions and to know different beaches, as I do... I would reccommend a bit of caution since PR is a country of social contrasts, (but with a car you'll be fine). Although the location is not the best, in in general it's a great cost-benefit!"

  • Excellent Stay

"Absolutely perfect stay. Unit is very spacious and fully equiped. Everything is in very good condition for a vacation rental. Very clean. Owners very easy to work with. Location makes it easy to explore the east end of PR. Excellent value."

Puerto Rico Travel Tips

Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals

Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.

Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas

The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.

Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals

The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.

Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Puerto Rico

If you have a large group of friends traveling together or are planning a wedding, you can secure a villa that is spacious enough to accommodate everyone. You can wake up each morning in the privacy of your own home and enjoy breakfast out on the deck. Many of the villas are fully serviced with housekeepers who can take care of all the household tasks including cleaning, shopping and preparing meals.
