  • OUTSTANDING STAY--HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

"This was our daughter's senior trip and we stayed at Aquatika. We all loved Puerto Rico! Starting with J.C. (Juan Carlos), who was a great help and source of local information. He met us at the airport and we followed him in our rental car to the grocery store and then to Loiza. He showed us around and gave us many suggestions about where to eat and what to do. We also got many helpful ideas from the packet that the owner Jeff gave us plus the notebook that previous guests had filled out more helpful information. Aquatika is beautiful and quiet--at least quiet during the week days. Seems to be a bit more hopping on the weekends as many of the local PR folks come here to Aquatika on the weekends. But with all the pools and the beach front it was never too crowded. We ventured out to the rain forest--which we all loved--catamaran/snorkeling in Fajardo--which was totally awesome, and many other daily excursions. We also spent a few days just hanging out in the condo. It was really nice having separate bedrooms for the kids so we didn't have to be together all the time like you do at a hotel/resort room. We enjoyed the second floor tv room, and going outside on the balcony and either catching some sun, or napping in the hammock:) Overall it was a wonderful trip and we would highly recommend renting this condo in Aquatika. The owner Jeff and JC his local guide are great and made the whole trip a pleasure!! Thanks again J.C., Jeff, and to all the great locals that we met on the most awesome vacation yet."

  • lovely, large rental

"the owner was very fast and helpful with all communication - by email and text. we flew in SJU, and she met us there. since we weren't going to back to SJU after our stay at her rental, she told us a very clever way to leave behind the keys and gate opener. the area the rental is located in is very quiet and secluded; it's also on a gated property - at the time there were very few other people around. there is also a small shared pool, which we didn't use - we weren't sure if we were allowed to even though no one would probably would have known if we did. the rental itself is very large for just two people. we arrived on a sunday, and the bar behind the property was blasting music, which ended around 11 pm so not too late. this was obviously just a weekend thing. we decided to sleep in the front smaller bedroom instead of the master bedroom, which has a large walk-in closet. the whole place is nicely appointed with air conditioning. the wifi was spotty but worked. we paid the nominal extra fee for cable, which was pretty limited. the tv itself isn't great, but ultimately this was negligible. the main bathroom has some water damage from the shower spraying behind the curtain, but you can affix the curtain so it doesn't. we decided to visit this corner for puerto rico for playa sucia, which was as beautiful as i hoped. it was maybe just a 10 minute drive at the most. we would definitely stay here again."

  • Paradise in Fajardo

"This place has a million dollar view.Miguel met us at the airport on time to drop off the keys. The condo was very clean and comfortable and well maintained. We stayed a week and not one day did we need to use A/C. We opened all the windows and took advantage of the breeze that's always blowing. We could hear the surf all day and the roosters in early am. How cool!We took many day trips including the Old City; El Yunque rain forest ; The Arecibo Observatory and many more . The restaurants Di Yukas: Tapas Le Lo Lai are a must as well as Calizo. All close by. El Varadero Cafe for breakfast ,lunch@ the marina across from Di Yukas rest.Vistas Cafe was also a great experience. I have already recommended to relatives and friends. Planning on returning soon."

  • Felt Like a King...If Scarface had a Puerto Rican getaway this would be it!!!!

"I was hesitant at first since this was my first time renting through VRBO. However, the owner's professionalism and the easy payment/deposit process got rid of any concerns. The instructions were flawless and once we arrived at the house the first thing I noticed was how clean the house was. I was very impressed with all the cooking tools and extras that come with the house. One day we wanted to go to the beach and there was a cooler for us to use. Another day we felt like snorkeling and we had multiple sets to choose from. One day we got rained in due to Tropical Storm Bertha but we just sat back and enjoyed the tropical storm from the comfort of the houses many balconies. I hope to come back to this great house again in the near future."

Puerto Rico Travel Tips

Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals

Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.

Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas

The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.

Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals

The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.

If you have a large group of friends traveling together or are planning a wedding, you can secure a villa that is spacious enough to accommodate everyone.
