  • Felt Like a King...If Scarface had a Puerto Rican getaway this would be it!!!!

"I was hesitant at first since this was my first time renting through VRBO. However, the owner's professionalism and the easy payment/deposit process got rid of any concerns. The instructions were flawless and once we arrived at the house the first thing I noticed was how clean the house was. I was very impressed with all the cooking tools and extras that come with the house. One day we wanted to go to the beach and there was a cooler for us to use. Another day we felt like snorkeling and we had multiple sets to choose from. One day we got rained in due to Tropical Storm Bertha but we just sat back and enjoyed the tropical storm from the comfort of the houses many balconies. I hope to come back to this great house again in the near future."

  • Wonderful home for family vacation

"When we decided to vacation in Puerto Rico with our two grown sons, we chose Mayaguez so that we could enjoy the variety of beaches on the west side of the island. The town turned out to have everything we needed with easy grocery shopping, good restaurants and friendly people. But - the gem of the vacation was Luciano's house. It was very easy to locate - only a few blocks off of the main road through Mayaguez. It had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. We cooked almost every meal in the spacious kitchen and grilled steaks one evening on the back porch. There are so many sitting areas in the house that you could always find a welcoming place to chat - or a comfy place to curl up by yourself to read. We enjoyed watching movies in the media room - like going to the movies! The swimming pool is gorgeous - clean and well kept. The man who came to clean the pool and water the plants every other day was polite and never intrusive into our privacy. Luciano even provided a baby bed for the toddler. One of the best features of this home with the pool is that the back porch has a fence with gates so that little ones must have help to get out to the pool area. Just thinking back on the house to write this review makes me sad not to be there drinking my coffee in the early morning as the sun rises. All of the furniture and appliances are top notch and the floors are beautiful tile and stone. We loved having the beach umbrella and snorkel gear. The living room is spacious enough that several of us could practice yoga together in the mornings. This would be a great house for several couples or a large family to rent - as there are 5 private bedrooms, counting the media room, which is where our youngest son slept. Luciano was a delightful host - and he even graced us by playing one of his compositions on the beautiful grand piano when we were leaving. His talent as a musician and his attention to detail as a teacher is evidenced by the comfort and beauty of his home. We were completely happy with the choice of this house - and would love to return and enjoy more time in the beautiful back yard. Thanks Luciano for a wonderful vacation stay!"

  • Great Vacation

"This was the first time my husband and I rented a condo rather than staying at a hotel and we loved it. Condo was clean and a great location. Carmelo was extremely helpful with all arrangements. We can't wait to go back. We didn't rent a car but we met wonderful neighbors at the condo who let me tag along whenever they went food shopping. Next time i think we will rent a car. The best sunsets. Restaurants were within walking distance which was perfect. There is plenty to do if you want or you can really relax (that's what we did)."

  • Great vacation home for families and large groups!

"Pirates Cove worked great for our group of 7 adults and 2 children. There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors that allowed us to be together as a group and also have our own space as well. The setup worked great having the bedrooms downstairs and the living area upstairs especially at night when the kids went to sleep early. We loved having the washer and dryer available for our use and we used the grill practically every day and night. There were plenty of bath and beach towels, linens, kitchenware, and everything else we needed. The pool area and backyard are great. The hot tub is not heated which was odd at first but it didn't really matter since it was so warm out. The grounds have such a tropical feel with beautiful palm trees and other fruit trees (bananas, starfruit, etc.) Every afternoon we would watch from the upstairs porch all the iguanas bathing at the top of the palm trees. And every night we fell asleep to the sounds of the coqui. The beach nearby was unfortunately full of seaweed and the waters were too rough for swimming. Also, the rocky path leading down to the beach area wasn't too inviting and was tough with young kids. Nevertheless, it was nice to have a beach so close and we enjoyed scouring the sand for sea glass and sea shells. We took advantage of a couple other beaches nearby- highly recommend taking a sailing trip to beautiful Icacos Island. We enjoyed horseback riding and a deep sea fishing trip at Palmas del Mar and also did some great day trips to Old San Juan and El Yunque Rainforest. We had a tough time finding really good restaurants in the area- there are a couple in Palmas del Mar. But mostly we ate at the house- there are plenty of supermarkets (including a huge Walmart) nearby for groceries. The owner was very accessible whenever we had questions. We had an issue with one of the air conditioners but he was able to help resolve it. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!"
