  • Wonderful Casa Grande Villa

"My family had a fantastic 1 week stay (not long enough unfortunately)! We loved the location, close to the beaches, restaurants, bars, and night life. Our 2 children, 21 and 23 especially liked the weekend evening festivities at Tamboo. The perfect morning was walking the beach, combing for sea glass. We never came back empty handed. The villa was comfortable and we enjoyed the pool, especially in the morning for a session of water aerobics! There was always a nice breeze at night. We will definitely be returning!"

  • Perfect launching pad for everything off the beaten track (or on)

"Luquillo is about 35 mins from the San Juan airport and about 40 mins away from San Juan proper. That worked out to be the perfect distance to get away from tourist traps and setup basecamp in a location that is 10 mins from the rainforest, 20 mins from the ferry that takes you to magical Culebra, 2 mins away from the foodie local kiosks and close enough to San Juan to go and get your major tourist things knocked off the list. Now to the apartment itself. Elenis apartment is located in clearly the highest and prized building in the area. The building exudes security, cleanliness and great management right from the parking entrance to the security guards. All the 3 towers are right on the beach. Elenis apartment is in the middle building and faces the ocean - the best view in my opinion. The apartment itself was clean when we checked in, everything was in its place and even had a playard and high chair which made our stay infinitely better!! Eleni also had snorkel equipment, beach chairs, umbrella, flip flops and everything else you can imagine for a successful beach vacation. Overall I cannot recommend this apartment and location enough. If you are traveling with a family, and want to escape the tourist hellhole which is San juan, this is the perfect launchpad for you. Thanks Eleni! Highly recommend reading this New York times article - google "a-better-way-to-the-beach-in-puerto-rico". Also highly recommend a day trip to Culebra - you will not regret this. Driving up to el Yunque was awesome and highly recommend on a hot day. Among the kiosks in luquillo, we loved the ceviche hut and el jeffe burger shack. In old San juan, cafe Manilo is a must and in San Juan La Casita Blanca is a necessary stop if you are foodies like us."

  • Great place in Luquillo!

"We rented this condo because it was centrally located between all of the places we wanted to go (Fajardo, Yunque Rainforest, San Juan). But, we ended up staying in Luquillo for most of our trip! The beach in front of the condo is really nice, the pool is refreshing, and the food nearby is delicious. The condo itself is great. It came with beach chairs and toys (basketballs and footballs), has an amazing view (with really comfy patio furniture), and has a fully stocked kitchen. I highly recommend it! Thanks Rene!"

  • Excellent Property-Prime Location

"My husband, 2 kids and I just returned from a wonderful stay at this condo in Isla Verde Estates, Isla Verde. My thoughts: Pros: Great location, walking distance to beach, restaurants, Walgreens, shopping. Nice pool. Condo is clean and well furnished. Beds very comfortable. Plenty of space for our family of 4. Central air, Wifi, Satellite TV. Washer dryer is in a locked room next to the condo, which Luz(owner) permitted us to use. Luz is very nice and helpful with suggestions as to places to visit and things to do. Rental price was very reasonable. Cons: The hot water for the showers could have been warmer. Temp. was lukewarm even when we flicked the switch on in the kitchen. Would have been nice to have a phone in the condo. for local calls to book reservations for tours, etc. My cell did not work in PR for local calls, so was difficult to book tours. Bottom line: Fantastic property-highly recommended!!!"

Puerto Rico Travel Tips

Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals

Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.

Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas

The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.

Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals

The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.

Caribbean Vacation Rentals in Puerto Rico

There are some definite advantages to renting a vacation home in Puerto Rico. If you have a large group of friends traveling together or are planning a wedding, you can secure a villa that is spacious enough to accommodate everyone. You can wake up each morning in the privacy of your own home and enjoy breakfast out on the deck. Many of the villas are fully serviced with housekeepers who can take care of all the household tasks including cleaning, shopping and preparing meals. Most of the vacation homes are beautifully furnished with stylish finishes and top-of-the-range appliances. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms ensure that everyone in your travel party can enjoy a level of privacy. Enjoy a vacation on your own time where you don't need to get up in time for breakfast if you don't want to. It is the best way to enjoy vacation on this tropical island.
