  • Great Family Vacation!!!

"This was our first time in Puerto Rico and hopefully it won't be our last. We had a wonderful time! In our group were 2 teenagers 17 and 19 along with a 10 year old and two adults. Our favorite thing to do was go to steps beach and snorkel. Although we also had a great time zip lining at Bateys and swimming at Sandy Beach. I would recommend renting a car to get around. There is lots to do and see within walking distance, but even more a short drive away. We enjoyed evenings having dinner on the roof top deck playing cards and relaxing, afternoons at the pool along with few visits to Tamboo. The condo was perfect. It had everything we could need. Speaking of which, one night we ran out of propane while cooking dinner on the grill; after calling our contact, within minutes, we had another tank! We had only positive experiences to share. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Ryan's condo to a friend. I am hopeful that we will be going back soon and would not think twice about staying there again."

  • Nice place to stay

"Really nice home in a good location. We were not familiar with the island but wanted to stay a few days away from San Juan, I randomly selected this place and took a chance. We loved the location which is walking distance from what appeared to be the main street in Aguada which had several restaurants to choose from. We did not make use of the beach because when we were around it seemed to be high tide, however just a few blocks away we were able to find the public beach access which had plenty of sand to lay out on. The apartment was clean and spacious. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets if needed. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!"

  • Incredible vacation!!!!

"My husband and I and two sons, ages 8 and 6, stayed here and it was just amazing! If you like seclusion and independence and not the hustle and bustle and extra expense of a resort, this place is for you!! We couldn't believe the beautiful beach was a 30 second walk out the back patio - it was truly paradise! And during the week the beach was literally deserted - one day we had it all to ourselves. Milton did mention that starting mid-April the beach fills up a bit more, and on the weekend locals were there, but it never felt crowded. The water was fantastic, the waves mild and safe; my boys had a blast playing in the surf all day. Milton was responsive and easy to work with - my kids accidentally snapped the paddleboard paddle in half which we felt terrible about - let Milton know right away and of course told him to take it out of our deposit - he was very nice about it. There were no boogie boards, but it was fun to try paddleboarding - really hard! Don't leave food out on the counter - one day we had tiny ants get into a bag of cereal, but besides that, there were no bugs. Lots of little lizards around, though! Security at the gate felt really safe, but the only downside that happened was one night I left my sons' water shoes out on the patio to dry and the next day they were gone! Really disappointed to have something stolen, especially because it really was a secure, deserted facility. There were a lot of workers there during our stay doing some painting, so maybe it was one of them. Don't know. Not a huge deal - our fault for leaving them outside, I guess. As far as activities, the location of this property was IDEAL!! The rainforest was a 15 minute drive away with great hikes and waterfall pools to swim in. We spent a day in Old San Juan and El Morro which the boys just loved! The kioskos at Luquillo are a must - Ceviche Hut was great. We did a snorkeling excursion with East Isle Adventures - just a 30 minute drive to Fajardo - that was amazing and the snorkeling was incredible! We just had a fantastic trip all around and would definitely come back, even despite the stolen shoes!! One thing to be aware of, Puerto Rican drivers are CRAZY!! Seriously, things that would illicit major road rage stateside are commonplace - especially around San Juan. If you think someone is about to cut you off, they are. If you think they're about to ignore that stop sign, they are. Just be hyper vigilant and don't get mad! It's the laid back island lifestyle, I guess!"

  • Breathtaking View/Slice of Heaven

"The first thing you notice when entering this charming, stylish apartment is the view. It will take your breath away. The view alone is worth this low low price for lodging. But once you manage to pry your eyes away from the scenery, you'll notice a very nicely appointed studio apartment with all the amenities needed to enjoy your stay -- kitchen with all needs, towels, linens, beach supplies, etc etc. There is no air conditioning, but for the view and the price is not much of a problem. We probably stayed during the hottest and driest month of the year. We were in Puerto Rico for nine days and IT. NEVER. RAINED. With that said, there is a VERY STRONG cross breeze when you open the window slats on the door and the sliding door and windows to balcony. Really, it's like a giant fan. There are also two ceiling fans in the unit. It may not be frosty cold, but it is quite comfortable, especially when most of your time is spent at the beach and on the AMAZING BALCONY WITH AMAZING VIEW. Did I mention the view is amazing? Anyway, contact Sandra and stay at this wonderful gem - you won't regret it."

Puerto Rico Travel Tips

Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals

Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.

Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas

The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.

Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals

The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.
