"My family had a fantastic 1 week stay (not long enough unfortunately)! We loved the location, close to the beaches, restaurants, bars, and night life. Our 2 children, 21 and 23 especially liked the weekend evening festivities at Tamboo. The perfect morning was walking the beach, combing for sea glass. We never came back empty handed. The villa was comfortable and we enjoyed the pool, especially in the morning for a session of water aerobics! There was always a nice breeze at night. We will definitely be returning!"Guest: East Coast Travelers Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 22, 2014View listing
"My family and I loved staying here and I wouldn't hesitate to rent from Rene again! The villa was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. I have 3 teenagers, and our family of 5 was very comfortable here. We were able to buy groceries and eat some of our meals and snacks in the villa which was great, as the restaurants on the Wyndham property are pricey. Having the golf cart to use was a bonus, as we could use all the amenities of the Wyndham like the pools, beach chairs, Tiki hut, etc, and at the end of the day get in our golf cart and go back to our villa and enjoy a glass of wine on the awesome balcony. Rene and his wife Norma met us when we arrived, showed us everything in the villa, then took us driving around the Wyndham property to make sure we knew where everything was. The Villa was close to everything - the rain forest, Fajardo (for the catamarans/sail boats) and only 35 minutes from Old San Juan. Our stay was wonderful and I would highly recommend this villa!"Guest: Susie F Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 14, 2014View listing
"Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc? The listing was accurate, but it did not do the property justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how relaxing the place was as soon as we stepped through the doors. Was the property clean and well-maintained? Immaculate! Did the owner or manager provide good customer service? Perfect service. The property manager met us upon our arrival, and he showed us everything we needed to know to take full advantage of all the amenities in the house and property. Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? Yes. I would recommend this especially to a very large group. Three small families could enjoy this property and feel as though they each have a private space. Common spaces are spectacular. What activities, attractions and restaurants did you enjoy? Our group took surfing lessons with 787Surf and it was rigorous and well worth the money. We were able to get a small discount for a group rate (8 adults). We also ate at Shipwreck and Tamboo. One suggestion for owners: grille needs to be updated."Guest: Dr. Mom Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: February 24, 2014View listing
Puerto Rico Travel Tips
Visitors to Puerto Rico Vacation Rentals
Puerto Rico is a vibrant Caribbean island travel destination. It is a place where you can enjoy beautiful beaches, fine dining, a wide variety of water sports and a number of nature attractions. People who generally travel to Puerto Rico are attracted by the persistent sunshine and tropical island paradise. Depending on if you enjoy the vibrant resort-style vacation or something more remote and quiet, you can choose which part of the island you want to stay on. Relax on the beaches during the day and then hit the nightspots for some dancing in the evenings.
Best Time of Year to Visit Puerto Rico Villas
The most popular travel season to Puerto Rico is between December and April. During this time, visitors can expect hot sunny days with very little rainfall. In general, this is considered to be the dry season, although occasional rain showers do still occur. Another reason that this is a popular time of year to visit is that the humidity levels are lower. The warm weather also attracts many visitors from New York City, Boston and Chicago who want to escape the winter freeze. In general, there is little seasonal variation in the temperature in Puerto Rico. The seasons are more often defined by the humidity and rainfall. From May through October, the amount of rainfall increases, making the air muggy and sticky. This makes it feel as though it is much hotter. From July to October, tropical storms sometimes hit the islands, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is typically the low tourist season in Puerto Rico.
Getting to Puerto Rico Resort Rentals
The main airport on Puerto Rico is located just nine miles from San Juan. The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport hosts frequent international flights from North America, Europe, South America and neighboring Caribbean destinations. As a U.S. foreign territory, flights from America are viewed as regional rather than international flights. San Juan is a major travel hub in the Caribbean for travelers from the United States. There are regular commercial flights from most major cities, including Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Houston. If you cannot find a direct flight connection from your hometown, you may consider finding flights that route via one of these main travel hubs. In total, there are 29 airports in Puerto Rico, most of them hosting regional and domestic flights. Getting around the island is fairly easy. There is a metro rail system that serves the greater San Juan Metropolitan area. It is also relatively easy to hire a car to explore the island. Be aware that traffic can get pretty congested in urban areas.
