Villa Altamira- the perfect getaway! Exquisite views, private, yet close to town.
"Having stayed at Villa Altamira before, we love coming back to see the beautiful changes each time. The owners have created a beautiful, private sanctuary on top of the hill. Beautiful views from two balconies, plus the pool area, with various seating options. Three private, large bedrooms, (one is a studio apartment that is separate and downstairs from the main house) accommodating many people, without feeling cramped. The new AC in the bedrooms were a plus, but not always needed. The house is very clean and provides everything you'll need, including snorkel gear, as well as areas in and around the house to "get away". The house managers, Annette and Dennis are wonderful! They can answer any question you have, fix any problem that may arise (there weren't any) and have wonderful recommendations. This is a very quiet area situated on a hill, hence, the gorgeous view, so plan on playing ball at the beach if you have littles, but they will love the pool! We love staying at Villa Altamira and look forward to our 5th visit!"

"This large well furnished house is in a very central location. It's in good repair, and Renee was very helpful. She picked us up, helped us unload at the house, and enlightened us on all the great local spots before dropping us off at Maritza's (We wholeheartedly recommend renting a jeep from them).
We had quick access to all our favorite locations on this quaint island. The home's location and construction made us feel safe and secure. We went to bed each night to the sound of the Coqui frogs. We made the quick drive to the grocery store and brought back steaks for the gas grill to go with the fresh veggies we had picked up from the Tuesday morning farmer's market. It took us less than 10 minutes to get to lunch and shopping in Esperanza. About the same to get to our Buen Provecho each morning in Isabel Segunda for iced coffee and Salmon Bagel. Snorkeling at Green Beach was great. We only rented the top floor for our anniversary this time, but fully intend to rent the downstairs too when we bring the kids back."

"We stayed 5 nights in the lower unit of Casa Jenny and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We appreciated Kikito's picking us up and returning us to the ferry, as well as his pointing out items of interest on the drive. The house was convenient to every thing we needed and provided all the necessities - the washer and drier were a real bonus! It was fun to have extras like the rafts, snorkels, puzzles, etc., to make our stay more fun (especially on the several rainy days we experienced). Living like a local does include sharing their noises - roosters mostly, with the frequent cars blasting music or propaganda - but that added to making it a more authentic experience. We did not have a car, but walked to several of the nearby beautiful beaches. If we come again, we'll spring for the rental just so we can explore beaches outside our walking range. All in all, we loved Casa Jenny and our stay in Esperanza."

"The listing photos simply can't do this property justice! Tucked away in a seemingly mundane neighborhood, one passes along the drive toward an automated gating system--opened/closed by remote control--and winds along the drive through six acres of land toward the property. The large open area of the first floor invites with easy-to-keep-clean stone tile and a bar-height table. You almost feel like a movie star as you pass through the area and onto the pool deck. The beautiful pool maintained perfect temperature for early evening dips throughout the week. Ascending the winding Hollywood staircase (perfect for weddings, BTW) and through the massive wood doors at the top brings an indescribable feeling of luxury! Then, you enter the astonishingly large great room and all prior notions of heaven recede into memory. The lanai off the great room provided cool evening breezes for pondering the stars at night and cool morning breezes to watch the sunrise over Sun Bay and Mosquito Bay (there are virtually no mosquitoes most of the time). The bedrooms could be left open to the soothing air most nights and the coqui (tree frogs) sang us to sleep. The master bath can comfortably sleep eight in the Jacuzzi, but otherwise provides a comfortable and private way to clean up from the day's activities. There are many kitchens in the main house and "guest" house, poolside showers, and really too many amenities to mention that helped make this a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The only downside was having to return to the mainland."
