  • Another wonderful stay

"This was our second stay at Magnolia House and it was once again fantastic! I am hesitant to let the secret out of the bag :) Magnolia House is walking distance to the Malecon where you can stroll, eat, drink and people watch! The house is incredibly comfortable with everything you need. We especially enjoyed sitting outside to read in the afternoon. This year we discovered the joys of snorkeling and there were splendid sights rights off the pier in Esperenza. You can spend your time here without a car easily or rent a car or scooter for easy outings to the beautiful beaches on the island. A special thanks, once again, to Joe and Mimi for making the trip extra special with their information and tips. Coqui Grill in Isabel II is fantastic and Tin Box has delicious oysters, fresh salads, and a great happy hour."

  • Lovely property with fantastic views!

"My husband and I celebrated our tenth anniversary in this charming rental! Thank you to our hosts Terry and Julie for making us feel so welcome. Our hosts were available to answer all of our questions and even included us in her weekly snorkeling club and yoga class. We were able to go to some snorkeling spots that we never would have found on our own. The unit is immaculate, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The expansive patio is a dream. From the deck we were witness to the coming and going of many sailboats, yachts, and freightors. And to the clip clop of horses hooves as the Esperanza riding company took its tours past the neighborhood. Situated in a nice neighborhood within a short walk to the Malecon and all of the action! I couldn't imagine a better and more affordable place to stay during your holiday on the charming Island de Vieques! Again many thanks to our hosts!"

  • Fun for Everyone!

"I visited Vista Linda with a small group in the spring, and absolutely loved it. It's totally private and the views are spectacular. The grounds are lovely and well kept (complete with fresh fruit and cilantro for picking!), and there are a couple of cars ready for use to take to the beaches, in to town, and to the various horse pastures around the island. I would love to come back with my extended family because it offers something for everyone (plus you don't need to hassle with passports). The main house has an open (but gated and locked at night) first floor, with a pool table and seating for outdoor eating if it's rainy. The grounds are large and enclosed, which is perfect for all of my little cousins to run around while easily supervised from the pool area. The casita is its own, separate house and would be great for my grandparents, so they don't have to climb any stairs, and they'd have a nice view of the pool. For me and my older siblings and cousins, the town offers a lot in terms of restaurants and night life. We had a ton of fun exploring, dancing, and some (very small) gambling. We always felt safe, even late at night. Since most of the people who live on the island travel by horse, you won't encounter drunk drivers. During the day, there are ample markets, horse back riding, snorkeling and scuba diving, and trips to mainland Puerto Rico for hiking in the jungle. We had no trouble communicating with anyone, even as a group of gringos, since just about everyone speaks English fluently. I would like to learn more Spanish for my next visit, more as a matter of principle and being a responsible traveler than anything else, but it's not essential. As far as food goes, I could write an entire review on the restaurants alone. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, check out Tradewinds or El Quenepo. I came in convinced I didn't like seafood, and left a convert. If you want more casual and family-friendly, Duffy's offers a great view of the water (and some pretty good margaritas, too!). Overall an excellent experience. Would recommend for just about any group made up of all ages."

  • Strongest Recommendation!

"This property is the best way to see Vieques! Centrally located (with spectacular views) you are a short drive from all spots on the island. The house is well off the road past two security gates. Note: you'll want a 4WD vehicle to get around. The house has plenty of amenities to support a day of relaxation (pool, hot tub, air conditioning, wifi), and there is plenty to do and see."
