  • Quiet, relaxing, perfect getaway for our family of 5

"We had the pleasure of staying at Mockingbird Hill for 8 glorious days with our three young children. We used the main floor of the guest house, which was immaculate and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a full kitchen, comfortable beds and linens, plenty of towels, and even hand and dish soap. The washer/dryer were very handy as well. MBH is perfect for those who want to truly experience the natural beauty of Vieques while getting away from noise, congestion, and roosters. The views are spectacular, and the constant breeze keeps the property comfortable. Lack of light pollution lends an equally gorgeous starry sky at night. The pool is lovely and a nice alternative for those days you don't wish to visit the beach. You can drive to the beaches within 10-15 minutes, and there are two newish delicious restaurants just down the street. Though we only used one home, this would be a fantastic property for a larger group, as you can travel together, but still have some separate space. Both the owner and property manager were very speedy in their responses, and easy to work with. I would stay here (and hope to stay here) again in a heartbeat."

  • I can't wait to go back!

"My stay at La Finca was the highlight of my Puerto Rico vacation. The staff was kind and helpful, not to mention generous. Our room was paradise. Mangos fell outside our door, we ate starfruit off of the trees, used the free snorkeling gear, and checked out the recommended local eateries. La Finca is beautiful, and I can't wait to go back!"

  • Nice spot walking distance to beach and easy to get to town.

"We really enjoyed the place. It was close enough to town. Very close to the beach to walk down. The photos are very accurate. Beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, towels, and cooler were all put to good use. Kitchen was fully equipped. The area was quiet and relaxed. If you want the party side of town, this is not it. Renee was super helpful throughout. We were grateful for the ride from the airport when we arrived late in the evening."

  • Fun for Everyone!

"I visited Vista Linda with a small group in the spring, and absolutely loved it. It's totally private and the views are spectacular. The grounds are lovely and well kept (complete with fresh fruit and cilantro for picking!), and there are a couple of cars ready for use to take to the beaches, in to town, and to the various horse pastures around the island. I would love to come back with my extended family because it offers something for everyone (plus you don't need to hassle with passports). The main house has an open (but gated and locked at night) first floor, with a pool table and seating for outdoor eating if it's rainy. The grounds are large and enclosed, which is perfect for all of my little cousins to run around while easily supervised from the pool area. The casita is its own, separate house and would be great for my grandparents, so they don't have to climb any stairs, and they'd have a nice view of the pool. For me and my older siblings and cousins, the town offers a lot in terms of restaurants and night life. We had a ton of fun exploring, dancing, and some (very small) gambling. We always felt safe, even late at night. Since most of the people who live on the island travel by horse, you won't encounter drunk drivers. During the day, there are ample markets, horse back riding, snorkeling and scuba diving, and trips to mainland Puerto Rico for hiking in the jungle. We had no trouble communicating with anyone, even as a group of gringos, since just about everyone speaks English fluently. I would like to learn more Spanish for my next visit, more as a matter of principle and being a responsible traveler than anything else, but it's not essential. As far as food goes, I could write an entire review on the restaurants alone. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, check out Tradewinds or El Quenepo. I came in convinced I didn't like seafood, and left a convert. If you want more casual and family-friendly, Duffy's offers a great view of the water (and some pretty good margaritas, too!). Overall an excellent experience. Would recommend for just about any group made up of all ages."
