  • Fun for Everyone!

"I visited Vista Linda with a small group in the spring, and absolutely loved it. It's totally private and the views are spectacular. The grounds are lovely and well kept (complete with fresh fruit and cilantro for picking!), and there are a couple of cars ready for use to take to the beaches, in to town, and to the various horse pastures around the island. I would love to come back with my extended family because it offers something for everyone (plus you don't need to hassle with passports). The main house has an open (but gated and locked at night) first floor, with a pool table and seating for outdoor eating if it's rainy. The grounds are large and enclosed, which is perfect for all of my little cousins to run around while easily supervised from the pool area. The casita is its own, separate house and would be great for my grandparents, so they don't have to climb any stairs, and they'd have a nice view of the pool. For me and my older siblings and cousins, the town offers a lot in terms of restaurants and night life. We had a ton of fun exploring, dancing, and some (very small) gambling. We always felt safe, even late at night. Since most of the people who live on the island travel by horse, you won't encounter drunk drivers. During the day, there are ample markets, horse back riding, snorkeling and scuba diving, and trips to mainland Puerto Rico for hiking in the jungle. We had no trouble communicating with anyone, even as a group of gringos, since just about everyone speaks English fluently. I would like to learn more Spanish for my next visit, more as a matter of principle and being a responsible traveler than anything else, but it's not essential. As far as food goes, I could write an entire review on the restaurants alone. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, check out Tradewinds or El Quenepo. I came in convinced I didn't like seafood, and left a convert. If you want more casual and family-friendly, Duffy's offers a great view of the water (and some pretty good margaritas, too!). Overall an excellent experience. Would recommend for just about any group made up of all ages."

  • A wonderful, well managed property!

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Casa Dos Chivos. The information online, including the video accessed from their website, was very informative and accurate. The property manager, Renee, met us at a local landmark and led us to the house. She gave us good information about the area and showed us through the house, taking time to explain all pertinent information about the property. Our first, and lasting impression, is that this is a beautiful property, well appointed, well maintained, and well managed. We were not disappointed in any way with our stay there. The house was clean and spacious. The view from the balcony was beautiful and we ate several meals there. We visited many beautiful beaches and did a tour of the bio bay. We had planned our trip to coincide with a new moon and the bio bay was amazing! The property owners, Michael and Patrick, were informative during email exchanges before our visit. They have done a really great job creating a welcoming place to visit. We would not hesitate to visit this property again."

  • We loved our stay at Casa de Pepito!

"We loved our stay at Casa de Pepito! The house was perfectly appointed and exceptionally clean. It has the perfect location- walking distance to everything in Esparanza and a short drive to our favorite beaches. The house manager was very friendly and helpful. I've recommended Vieques and this property to all of my friends! Thank you, Catherine, for making this such a wonderful place to stay. We'll be back!"

  • Paradise Found

"1 week on a hill with an amazing pool. The house had all the necessary equipment for a great beach vacation. We packed our Jeep every afternoon (after mornings in the pool) with chairs an umbrella and a couple travel coolers and headed to a different beach everyday. There were plenty of beach towels and even a few noodles. All the stuff we needed was right in the closet. The house was clean and airy. Great water pressure and the king bed was very comfy. The twin beds in the other room were not great for grown ups, but we made do. The covered patio was a great place for evening meals and a welcome escape from the sun. The pool chairs were terrific and the umbrellas are on wheels. Awesome. Caretakers Kristina and Tony were always a phone call away. Tony actually met us at the grocery store and lead us to the house. We have stayed elsewhere on the island and this joint was super quiet and peaceful by comparison. The Tin Box bar and restaurant was a short drive down the road. Where we spent a couple lively evenings enjoying organic barbeque and fresh watermelon margaritas. A few notes: you need a jeep, don't miss Secret beach, Red beach and Blue beach and lastly, Esperanza is the town to spend your evenings in. One more thing, the best snorkeling is at Mosquito Pier."
