  • Fun for Everyone!

"I visited Vista Linda with a small group in the spring, and absolutely loved it. It's totally private and the views are spectacular. The grounds are lovely and well kept (complete with fresh fruit and cilantro for picking!), and there are a couple of cars ready for use to take to the beaches, in to town, and to the various horse pastures around the island. I would love to come back with my extended family because it offers something for everyone (plus you don't need to hassle with passports). The main house has an open (but gated and locked at night) first floor, with a pool table and seating for outdoor eating if it's rainy. The grounds are large and enclosed, which is perfect for all of my little cousins to run around while easily supervised from the pool area. The casita is its own, separate house and would be great for my grandparents, so they don't have to climb any stairs, and they'd have a nice view of the pool. For me and my older siblings and cousins, the town offers a lot in terms of restaurants and night life. We had a ton of fun exploring, dancing, and some (very small) gambling. We always felt safe, even late at night. Since most of the people who live on the island travel by horse, you won't encounter drunk drivers. During the day, there are ample markets, horse back riding, snorkeling and scuba diving, and trips to mainland Puerto Rico for hiking in the jungle. We had no trouble communicating with anyone, even as a group of gringos, since just about everyone speaks English fluently. I would like to learn more Spanish for my next visit, more as a matter of principle and being a responsible traveler than anything else, but it's not essential. As far as food goes, I could write an entire review on the restaurants alone. If you're looking for something a little more upscale, check out Tradewinds or El Quenepo. I came in convinced I didn't like seafood, and left a convert. If you want more casual and family-friendly, Duffy's offers a great view of the water (and some pretty good margaritas, too!). Overall an excellent experience. Would recommend for just about any group made up of all ages."

  • Location, view, amenities, Los Bohios does it all

"We decided to try the island of Vieques for our annual family holiday vacation. Our daughter found Los Bohios on line and after several conversations with Colleen, the property manager, we decided to try the house. It's not easy to get family members residing in different states with different needs and different arrival and departure dates coordinated but Colleen helped with many of the tasks including buying diapers, detergent, beach tents, snorkel gear, etc. Ahead of time for our 6 month old grandson. She also coordinated our rental car pickup and gave us valuable info regarding how to navigate this sleepy island. The property itself was clean, well appointed, the pool area with views was not only lovely but perfect for a baby. The "bohios" being separate bedrooms/bathrooms with a central living/kitchen area were perfect for our grown children in terms of privacy. The games and puzzles were a nice distraction and no one missed television. Being located outside of Esperanza but close for some meals was also great. We loved our stay and hope to go back next year!"

  • Rarely write reviews

"I rarely writes reviews, but this place deserve it. Firstly is definitely in the best location to see VIeques, the property is so centrally located that everything is just less than 5-7 minute drive. It's is lovely designed, the swimming pool is gigantic for a villa, there are 2 security gates, the area is quiet and private. There are great amenities to enjoy full relaxation and should you prefer to stay home all day this is the place. The studio its in his own floor and well divided from the rest of the house. Outdoor grill was perfect to grill our healthy dinner. We have met the manager, Joey, he is attentive and professional. Definitely a place to come back and recommend. Professional and caring booking service with Lucia in New York and realistically sensitive to our budged. We booked two more weeks in 2015 Vieques has now a taxi service for $5 per person, we had our car only later in the vacation and should you choose not to rent a car the VIEQUES taxi will come here and pick you at the first security gate."

  • Just got back from an awesome family vacation!

"Just got back from our wonderful vacation to Vieques. This home has an amazing panoramic view from its huge front patio. Definitely our favorite part of the house. The beds were very comfortable and the house came with a pack and play which was very useful. Kitchen was well equipped and cabinets had "leftover" seasoning/oil/ etc from previous renters which was useful.. We also added to that by leaving what we couldn't take with us. There were plenty of coconuts to snack on. We had a rental car and were able to tour the island a little bit. (Most side roads are not paved and can be very bumpy). Our favorite beach was half moon. Would have liked to visit Blue beach, but was closed along with some others. I read they were closing for a few months to clean up military debris. Unfortunately we weren't able to do a bio bay tour (full moon), but will hopefully be back and can plan that for our next trip. Overall had an amazing vacation and would absolutely stay at this house again. FYI/Suggestions for the house..... only 2 of the 3 bedrooms have AC. It did get very hot/humid at night and we had to pull one of the mattresses into another room to sleep. The shower in the hallway bathroom has such poor water pressure we had to all use the master bath to shower. Not a big deal and I'm sure It could easily be fixed. Some of the beach chairs are broken/rusty. Again not a big deal since we spent most of our time on the crystal clear water!"
