"My wife and I stayed at Vista Does Mares for 10 days, and every single one of them was spectacular. Isla de Vieques is an incredibly beautiful place, from the bioluminescence of Mosquito Bay, to the volcanic sands of Playa Negra—and even so, we occasionally had a hard time tearing ourselves away from the comforts of the house. Likewise, the food on Vieques is varied and excellent, but more than a few nights we stayed in and grilled and blended up cocktails with fresh fruits and good, cheap Caribbean rum.
Vista Does Mares sits on one of the highest points on Vieques, and you really can see both seas, both sides of the island, from inside the house and from the wrap-around veranda. The pool is something to behold, offering privacy while also opening onto a view of the lush hills that roll down to the beach. And there's air conditioning, but we never turned it on once, so effective (not to mention soothing) were the breezes blowing through.
Adrienn greeted us at the airport, and she and Jared made our stay that much lovelier. They take great care of the house, they're great people all around, and they know the island like the back of their hands (and not incidentally, pretty much everybody on the island knows and loves them, too).
In short, we really cannot recommend Vista Does Mares highly enough if you're planning a trip to Vieques. It was an absolute joy, and we'll undoubtedly be back!"

"This place is the perfect getaway for families and couples, young and old. Our little boys loved all the wild animals and we loved the closeness to the beach as we didn't have a car the first couple days. The house is a stones throw from everything in Esperanza and several of the nicer beaches are in walking distance but having a car does make exploring the tiny island easier as the hills can be steep and the roads unsafe. Perfect place to get away from it all."

"We have stayed in this fabulous spot twice now, and we'll absolutely be back very soon. I can't really imagine staying anywhere else now. It's the perfect perch to take in the whole island. If you are a long view person, this one is killer. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, quiet, and wonderful location to zip anywhere on the island. We are big snorkelers, and head out to a different spot everyday so the central location of this property is fabulous. It is also stocked with a couple of coolers and chairs. The property has everything you need to be perfectly comfortable, and catches awesome cross winds. We've stayed in January and July, and were more than comfortable both times of year. This one is a gem. Can't wait to get back SOON. :)"

"What an exquisite and memorable experience was our stay at Vista Linda!
We were a family group of 12 together to honor our parents and to celebrate our baby sister’s 50th birthday. All the descriptions provided in the website about Vista Linda stay short when you really experience your stay there. Karen is a wonderful host that really welcomes you to the villa and makes sure you feel at home before she leaves. Vista Linda has a beautiful history that you can learn about from a book provided in the house. They also provide a book with all the trees and fruits available on site. Our family made fun of waking up every morning searching around to see what fruits they would find. We ate fresh and sweet mangoes and quenepas. We walked around all the outside premises enjoying the hills, trees and flowers. During one night, the young crowd of 20’s, around five of them, laid down on the outside lawn to enjoy the starry night while all lights were out. We enjoyed the outside of the house as much as we did the inside!
Inside the house everything is gorgeous, comfortable and with plenty, plenty of space. The house is well maintained and taken care of. I slept in the master bedroom with the sliding door open all night (everything is gated), with the beautiful breeze all night long hitting your face and the sound of nature sounding like a lullaby; it was like a dream from which you would not want to wake up. My family enjoyed the pool table which they kept using every night. My brother-in-law is a chef and did all the cooking. He was pleasantly surprised of how well equipped the kitchens were with all the necessary utensils to cook.
I really would like to visit Vista Linda again. In the meantime, I will recommend it wholeheartedly. Is an experience that will last forever!"
