"This is my second stay at this home in Beacon Hill. All of the rooms in the home are well apportioned. The kitchen has every gadget a cook could want, the bedrooms are all roomy with plenty of space and cabinetry, and updated beautifully. Love the auto shutters that were within the windows, not only to help darken a room, but to cool off the sun on days before we might turn on the air conditioning for an hour or so. The landscaping around the home is something I really enjoyed, need a little greenery to get me relaxed with a little wine at dusk, and the windex blue ocean waves really bring you into that relaxation zone, add a little music to the mix with the outdoor speakers were the icing on the cake. We love walking in that area,we tend to walk for one or two hours every morning, and it is easy to pick up a quick breakfast at the Maho Market to get your breakfast "fuel". We had one couple with us on this trip, had our first drinks at the Driftwood bar, then enjoyed watching some sporting events at Three Amigo's restaurant in Maho and had some really good appetizers there. Our favorite restaurant this trip was at Chesterfields in Phillipsburg, we all enjoyed our seafood dinners there, and shared a wonderful brownie and ice cream sundae afterwards. Spent a nice afternoon at Karakters, first enjoying some tapas, then went swimming for awhile, that was our favorite "beach" day. Can't wait to return to SXM, and all 4 of us agreed, Seaside Retreat is a place that they want to come back to."

"Lil Sugar is a lovely property situated in a gated community of well kept residential homes. I loved getting up early in the morning to watch the sunrise from the patio. There, I was greeted, with a spectacular view and the wonderful auroma of the many beautiful plantings. Lil Sugar is as advertised. The interior is well appointed and has all the necessities available for cooking a meal after a touch day at the beach 👙. Anne, the housekeeper maintains order and cleanliness thoughtful the house giving the feel of a 5star hotel without all the hustle and bustle. My husband and I enjoyed the privacy. Be sure to rent a car for there is nothing within walking distance. Mary, was a most gracious host. We had a few minor issues and after a phone call they were immediately addressed. Love the island of Saint Maarten and look forward to returning each and every winter. Thank you Mary for sharing your lovely home with us."

"The place was really great - just as advertised, really well laid out and thoughfully equipped. Dora and Phillipe are great to deal with.
For getting around the Island - figure out the Minibus - Taxis are VERY expensive. Hilda's Windsor Castle in Simpson Bay is the Bomb! and Elvis at Sky's the Limit in Grand Case - big thumbs up for local, or "LoLo" food. Take cash if you're exploring the island - not all machines work. The French side is more Lonely Planet style traveler - bit more earthy. Check out SO French near the apartment. It lives up to the name. Some of the best Foie Gras I've had on 3 continents.
The walk up the hill? Sure, it can be a bit of a thing if you're sunstroked and tired at the end of the day. But truly, it wasn't that bad. If it weren't for that hill, I'd have gotten fat with all the good French food I ate.
For god's sake remember to wear sunscreen and a hat, and like anyone who's read Hitchiker's Guide to the Universe knows, know where your towel is. They cost 4 Euros on Orient beach. I know where mine is: I left it on Dora and Phillipe's railing :D"

"This is a really great place to stay in St. Maarten. The kitchen had everything we needed to eat breakfast and any other meal we chose to eat "at home." The views of St. Barths are really beautiful, and the pool in the complex is a lovely place to end your afternoon after a day of relaxing on the beach or enjoying the sights and activities of St. Maarten. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms really nice and spacious, with excellent showers. The couches and chairs in the living room were also comfortable and the WiFi and TV were excellent amenities.
Prior to the trip, Eugene was so helpful and answered questions as I thought of them, such as restaurant ideas, suggestions of things to do and even helping me plan a route for a morning run each day (in a word, hills -- great area to run!)
Parking was right nearby, the grounds were constantly maintained and yet not in a disruptive way. In short, this is a great place to stay -- you really couldn't ask for a better location on the island, view from the condo, or overall accommodation. We even did our laundry mid-way through the trip, which was so nice because it allowed us to pack more lightly for our vacation.
If you're looking for great places to go, ask Eugene and he will give you some great ideas. The highlight for us was probably a sail/snorkel/lunch trip to Anguilla, but everything we did was wonderful, fun and memorable."
