  • Wonderful place!

"We stayed at Studio Pinel for 1 week. Before arrival everything was very good arranged with Bruno by e-mail. After arrival he was very welcoming and gave us advice about places to go. The studio was very clean, and candles against mosquitos were there too. The view is amazing! Waking up every day with such a beautiful view is part of the fun. Heaving breakfast on the veranda en paddling on the paddle boards and canoes was great! The water is not deep enough for swimming, but many other beaches are great to do that. Pinel island is very close by canoe, and it's easy to get around the island by car. It was great fun to use the jacuzzi on the beach, that's special. Cooking is possible in the kitchen, supermarkets are in the village. Many restaurants in the area too, with the pizza place very close to the studio. It's peaceful and quiet in the area. We definitely recommend staying here. If we come back to St Martin, we will stay at Studio St Martin again. St Martin over all was very much worth visiting."

  • A Private Paradise

"We have been visiting St. Martin on and off for over twenty years and this was by far the best place we ever stayed. The view is stunning. The outdoor space is the big draw here. We loved waking up in this little piece of heaven and having our coffee and breakfast and a having a swim. We loved lounging by the pool in the afternoons with a cocktail or a glass of wine. Being high up on a hill ensures a nice, constant breeze so it was never too hot. Each of the bedrooms also has very good, individually controllable air conditioning, so sleeping is comfortable for all. We didn't cook dinners there because being New York Foodies we love to explore all the island's restaurants. (By the way we discovered a brand new excellent restaurant that rivals any on Grand Case that is just a five minute drive away on Oyster Bay Pond called The Pavillion. Elaine the chef was amazing and personally attended to anything you could want.) However, you could cook at the villa if you want to because the kitchen is big and there is a big indoor and outdoor dining table. We didn't turn on a TV once the whole week we were there but they have a nice one if you need that. They have wifi, which is helpful since a lot of the island's cell connections are spotty. And you're in a gated community which makes you feel perfectly safe. The owners are exceptionally easy to deal with; available, in contact and very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I'd say is that you definitely need a car here because you are up on the hill and not near a resort or restaurant, so no taxis are just hanging around waiting you. We rented a car and it was fine. We hope to return to this villa so I have no hesitation in giving it an excellent review and our recommendation."

  • Beacon Hill Seaside Retreat is truly a Gem

"This is my second stay at this home in Beacon Hill. All of the rooms in the home are well apportioned. The kitchen has every gadget a cook could want, the bedrooms are all roomy with plenty of space and cabinetry, and updated beautifully. Love the auto shutters that were within the windows, not only to help darken a room, but to cool off the sun on days before we might turn on the air conditioning for an hour or so. The landscaping around the home is something I really enjoyed, need a little greenery to get me relaxed with a little wine at dusk, and the windex blue ocean waves really bring you into that relaxation zone, add a little music to the mix with the outdoor speakers were the icing on the cake. We love walking in that area,we tend to walk for one or two hours every morning, and it is easy to pick up a quick breakfast at the Maho Market to get your breakfast "fuel". We had one couple with us on this trip, had our first drinks at the Driftwood bar, then enjoyed watching some sporting events at Three Amigo's restaurant in Maho and had some really good appetizers there. Our favorite restaurant this trip was at Chesterfields in Phillipsburg, we all enjoyed our seafood dinners there, and shared a wonderful brownie and ice cream sundae afterwards. Spent a nice afternoon at Karakters, first enjoying some tapas, then went swimming for awhile, that was our favorite "beach" day. Can't wait to return to SXM, and all 4 of us agreed, Seaside Retreat is a place that they want to come back to."
