The view is spectacular !
"We had a great vacation on St. Maarteen ! We were 11 nights at this unit (2 adults - 2 kids 7-9). The beach is very nice, long, wide, no rocks and no seaweeds in front of the unit. The beach has no shade, so we liked the shade of the three seagrapes just in front of our unit. The unit is very convenient, directly to the beach. It is gated. The view from the living room and the master bedroom is spectacular ! The pool is right behind this unit. The unit has everything we needed. It is beautiful and clean. It is close to the airport, but most of the airplanes are really small. The sound last 3 seconds and they are not much airplanes (around 10 per day, sometimes less). We were in a big hotel the first part of our vacation on St-Marteen and trust me, it was more noisy (music band - movie night outside). Simpson Beach is long and they are not much people on the beach. The location is unbeatable !"

"We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute. The beach is great. You do need to walk a bit down to get a good sandy beach. The condo was great. Has everything you need (except you will need to buy more toilet paper, they only provide what is on the rolls, no extra rolls). Helpful hint, the bar next door is over priced and rude. Take the walk down the beach to Rainbow, the one with the red umbrellas where a bucket of beer is $15 and you can sit all day in their umbrellas, plus the beach is nicer down there. The food is great. Find the bakery where a baguette is $1."

"We just returned from spending 8 nights at Martine's place. I totally agree with all that was said about her, responsive and gracious host. She was very patient when our wire transfer took much longer than anticipated and she was always extremely quick in answering our e-mails. The apartment interior is exactly as shown on this site, beautifully decorated with nice amenities (including ice maker in the fridge, a nice surprise). The only photo not truly depicting current conditions is the one of the "terrace" outside the apartment. What appears like nice wood planks on the photos is currently dried-up grass. And there are no bushes with pretty blue flowers. Maybe the wood got destroyed in the last hurricane and the bushes died due to the terrible drought (latter none of Martine's fault of course). But I must admit we were disappointed that the photo wasn't updated to depict the real setting. Furthermore, due to the odor from all the seaweed on the beach right in front of the property, we couldn't open the doors, it was really bad. Nothing Martine could do about the seaweed situation either (which is getting more prevalent on many of the beaches which is a shame). Just to bear in mind if you travel there soon (local authorities are looking into ways to address the seaweed problem). I think it would be fair to say that the photo of the outside of the apartment should be updated to represent the actual condition. That said, not sitting outside the apartment didn't spoil our vacation, we enjoyed touring the island and exploring many seaweed-free beaches (Mullet Bay and Baie Rouge were some of our favorites)."
