  • Love, Love, Love Villa Valhalla!

"We could not have picked a more perfect place for our group of 8 adults (three families, all related). Perfect style-casual & comfortable; perfect layout-open & easy; perfect setting-gorgeous views & superbly located. Daphne was a pleasure to work with, as were Ken, Catherine and Catherine's assistant. As to the VRBO review questions: the listing description was accurate, the pictures reflect the property (only we think it feels larger than the pictures show), the property was clean and well-maintained (it is a rental property), the owner was more-than-helpful in answering questions (above and beyond), and we would all recommend to family and friends. As for things to do; hanging out at the Villa is hard to beat! We liked Sunset Bar/Maho Beach to watch the planes, snorkeling at Dawn Beach and Mullet Bay Beach. Mr. Busby’s/ Daniel’s was the best food we had - although the service was sub-par all four time we were there... and yes, some of us kept going back! (Note that patrons were visible frustrated with the lack of service, and I have to wonder if this was an anomaly? We did not experience this at any other restaurant.) The Marigot open market was nice and we picked up fresh Mahi-Mahi and Lobster early one morning. Opens at 7AM-go early for fish, and they will hold it for you if you want to shop just a little. I loved the very spicy, delicious, fish tacos at Dinghy Dock (Tue night special), and the 21-year-olds liked the fish & chips, but the "old" guys would not go back for the food! All of these things to do, and places to eat, are so subjective – just suffice it to say that you will not go wrong with Daphne, and her family's little piece of paradise! Can’t thank Daphne, Catherine and Ken enough! Three Families from Minnesota"

  • Super Location

"We had an awesome time at this property. When you visit don't forget to take a boat ride to Pinal Island for the day. Also worth spending a day with Captain Alain on his boat visiting the neighboring islands. The property by it self has a lot to offer. My favorite was watching the boats go by since this property is very close to the bay. The bedroom walls open out to give you a breath taking view. This is walking distance to Dawn beach and Orient Beach is a short drive. Mr. Busby's is a nice rustic restaurant on dawn beach. Good food and great service."

  • The 25th anniversary of our dreams

"Returning to St. Maarten for our 25th was a wonderful thing, but upon arriving at our Tropical Beach villa we were blown away. What more could you ask for than to have an ocean view every day from your bedside, ocean breeze and waves filling your days and nights, the most wonderful view of Dawn Beach from the infinity pool, complete access to the beach and nearby restaurants and nightlife. In all, it was the best way to celebrate with the love of your life."

  • Good Choice for our 25th Wedding Anniversary

"We chose Tower House Bungalow for our 25th wedding anniversary, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was more than adequate as our base from which to explore the island. We typically cooked breakfast in the well equipped kitchen, packed a lunch to take with us, and ate in one of many restaurants for our evening meal. Renting a car was a must. We started our adventure with a drive completely around the island our first day, choosing places to which we wanted to return. We planned out each day around a significant destination, and filled in with other things to see and do in each area. Our favorite beach was Friar's Bay. There was no seaweed at all. It was fairly quiet. Yet there were two restaurants/bars right on the beach to ensure we had plenty of food and drink. Our favorite adventure was the Rhino Safari, where we rode out to a snorkeling adventure on our own personal mini-boat. We enjoyed it so much we did it twice! Favorite restaurant? It is hard to say. We enjoyed the Dinghy Dock, Mama's Pizza, Beaubeau's, and many more. There were a couple of things that could have made this a little better, and it was mostly communication. First, it was a surprise to find out that air conditioning meant that only our bedroom was air conditioned. Since we arrived on a very hot day, that came as a shock. Once we grew accustomed to the idea, it really was not much of a bother. Secondly, written directions from the airport would have made our first trip across the island much easier. The roads are not well marked, and we had a difficult time finding our rental. Third, if we had been given a gate access code before arriving, we wouldn't have had to park in the narrow street, waiting for someone to open the gate. These things were all fairly minor, but together added up to enough inconvenience that we couldn't quite give a 5-star rating. That said, we would love to return for another visit, knowing now what to expect."
