"I really do not want to review this property, but in fairness I have to. Truly a secret getaway. The pictures are very real and do not do justice to the experience, the landlord responsive and cool, the care taker (Albert) the same. If you are looking for a stuffy resort, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for beautiful ocean views, a beach at your footsteps, all the conveniences of an apartment (minus AC, which you don't really need depending on time of the year) this place is it. Its literally down the street from everything Grand Case has to offer. The bungalow is spacious for a couple. We even took our almost 2 year old with us. We set up her pack and play in the kitchen area for when she went to sleep at night, and felt like we had plenty of privacy. Like I said, I do not want to review this place honestly because we want to come back every year. The back yard is so peaceful, you really feel like you are in your own private paradise. The two Palm trees, with the ocean behind are so perfect, they do not seem real. The step down to the beach is not ideal for elderly, but you can always walk a couple hundred feet over, and access it through the public access (nobody was on that little beach during our stay: very private). Not the ritz with chairs...etc. Just a beautiful quite beach to match the quaint bungalow with sunset views Grand Case as a whole was our favorite part on the Island. We saw the whole Island over 9 nights there. There are lots of beaches close by, although Grand Case is very nice, if you want to get away to a private beach, drive down the street, hike for about 3-5 minutes and you can get to Happy Beach. Mullet & Simpson Bay Clear and Nice too. Go to Karakters at Simpson Bay - Beach Bar. In Marigot eat at Marina Royale. Food at Grand Case is excellent. Like fresh fish? try the Carpaccio and Grouper at Grand Case Beach Club. Zen it was great for Tapas and live music on the beach. Good Creole food/location go to the end of the strip till the main road (on the beach dining). Then walk across the main road to the bakery (next to grocery store). You will love their Chocolate Mouse (we went there 3 times and brought baked goods home, which we enjoyed for breakfast every morning w/ Cheese & coffee on the porch). Try Sarafinas in Marigot, best bakery on the Island. As per LoLos, go to the one behind Sky's the limit right next to the water. Almand is the owner. This place was awesome. Be Back Soon"

  • Location, Location, Location VIEWS and talk about being RIGHT on the beach!

"I have not even checked out yet, but wanted to go ahead and post this. If you want to be in Grand Case, this is the apt. you should get. WHY? 1) Location is central Grand Case 2) Best views EVER, you have your private beach view and a balcony overlooking Grand Case main street. 3) You could not be closer to the beach 4) Apt is lovely, clean, well stocked 5) The doors open all the way across, if we were in the apt, we spent every minute on the patio 6) the boats 7) private beach access, the sound of the waves is so soothing 8) walking distance to the best restaurants in St. Martin, the only negative is that there are too many to choose from 8) the owner was responsive and most helpful For you Americans, remember you are in France. The apt has several adapters for your use, I never had to use the ones I brought. Jean-Pierre, it would be nice to have instructions for how to use the appliances in English! Bring CASH, most restaurants and shops will let you pay dollar for euro if you pay in cash. Grocery store across the street had the basics of what we needed for our stay. We did not rent a car but there is a garage if you do, which is rare. Very cool boulangerie and pharmacy down the street. We did not have a bad meal but are going to have to go on a diet when we get back! I use VRBO all the time, and am delighted with this choice!"

  • Location Location!

"Just got back from our first trip to St.Martin staying in Grand Case. This apartment is well equipped, for anyone not wanting to eat out. Walking out to the street there was restaurants, groceries, bakery and bars. The beach was on the other side. Chairs, cushions, umbrellas and tables were all available. The building superintendent Anna, was available for questions or any assistance. We rented a car and saw much of the island, but found the beach at the residence to be the most convenient and private. If you are not into massive condo developments, this is the place for you. I would recommend this place to family and friends."

  • Exceptional view, perfect host.

"My wife and I have been to St. Maarten many times but we've always stayed on the Dutch side. For this trip my wife wasn't coming so I decided to try the French side. This condo proved to be the perfect spot for a great vacation. To begin with, Jay is the perfect owner/host. He has great communication and, in addition, provides a wealth of information about the condo, the local restaurants and shops, places of interest, the entire island. Following Jay's suggestion, I ate at several restaurants I'd never been to and they were exceptional. Make sure to try Le Cottage and Bacchus...tell them Jay sent you and you'll get phenominal treatment. The view from the condo is unsurpassed. You're looking out the glass door across the Caribbean to Anguilla. The condo itself felt safe and quiet. You can go out the back and walk down the beach to a variety of restaurants. The back bedroom is a little tight and and has a pullout sofa but since I was alone, I used it to store my luggage. That bedroom does get a little street noise but it's not bad. The front bedroom gets the sound of the surf lapping on the beach. The condo isn't huge but plenty big for 2-4 people. The kitchen has everything you need. If you have any challenges you can call Anna, the property manager and she's minutes away. I had zero problems during my stay. My thanks to Jay for a wonderful time. I hope to return soon."
