Haven't even been there yet and impressed with service!
"I felt the need to write a review before we have even arrived on the island, because I am so impressed with the owners. We inquired with different owners about several properties on different parts of the island as we were trying to narrow down where we wanted to stay. Some owners either never responded or took so long to respond that we assumed the property was unavailable and they just hadn't updated their calendars. This is not the case with Tony and Brent. They have been very fast to respond to our messages, and have answered all of our questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. We even asked about one small concern in one of the reviews, and they went to the point of saying they would look into changing something the next time they are on the island. This was certainly not our expectation, and beyond what I have seen owners offer to do with any other rentals we've used on vrbo. We had a short list of places we decided we'd enjoy renting, but Troy and Brent's service was so impeccable, that we easily and quickly made the decision to stay in their place. We are confident we will be happy with our decision once we're there!"

"La Martiniere is a well designed house with stunning views over Orient Bay with St. Barth's in the distance. The deck area by the pool is particularly nice. You can be in the shade no matter what time of day. The beds are comfortable and all the appliances worked well. The plantings around the pool and side of the house are very attractive. Even though the steep, narrow driveway is a bit of a challenge, the house and grounds are definitely five star.
We were met promptly on our arrival by Jean-Phillippe from the property managers. He quickly showed us some of the basics: How the safe box works; how to make the metal window guards go up and down, etc. He left quickly without telling us how to work to clothes washer with its French instructions; how to work the various remotes; what the alarm? gadget at the pool was and how it worked; and before we could ask our questions. He said he didn't know about the housekeeping schedule, but would get back to us. He didn't. He also said he'd check on us later in the week. He didn't.
The otherwise helpful binder with information about the house and area said the "housekeeper will be in every day except Sunday for a few hours to clean and place fresh linens." On another page it said the housekeeper would come either "every 4th day or so," every other day, or every day except Sunday. We had no housekeeping services. The lead property manager told us that on instructions from the owner there were no housekeeping services during our stay. This is really no big deal, but the written policy needs to be made accurate. More important is that there was mold on the wall in the master bath, a few roaches, and a bunch of dead insects in a corner of the living room. One mosquito repellant device was low on oil. The other was empty. We bought the oil and a third device at the local store, so had little trouble with mosquitos indoors after that. (Pest control must be hard to keep up with on the island, so we know the property managers have a challenge with it.)
Finally, we got conjunctivitis there. Given exposure and time of onset, our doctor thinks it might have come from the pool. I hope not, because otherwise, the pool is great.
We'd gladly return to La Martiniere if some of the issues (mold, pest management) issues were taken care of and especially if we knew the pool was safe."

"We absolutely loved St. Martin and loved having this home. Greg and Lilly answered any questions we had, gave us wonderful restaurant suggestions and were there anytime we needed. If was great to have our own private pool too. We plan to go back as soon as possible."

"Great break from Canadian winter! Our first family vacations since the birth of our baby were close to perfect thanks to this amazing accommodation. The house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and we enjoyed very much the pool and outdoor facilities. The little village of Orient bay is at walking distance so is the beach. Having a car is however necessary if you wish to see the most of St-Martin. Sonia and Martial were very welcoming and helpful hosts. We recommand this proprety if you are looking for casual, relaxing and amazing vacations. Thank you again Sonia! Sabine, Simon and Alexandre
