Better than All-Inclusive resort Suite
"We stayed here from 04/04/15 to 04/11/15. This was my first Vacation Rental booking and one of the best vacation experiences I have had.
We met up with Gordon for a quick property orientation with valuable recommendations. After the orientation, we immediately went to Le Grand Marche (Supermarket) in Cole Bay and bought groceries and essentials. There are grocery stores nearby but if you have a car and want to save money, Le Grand Marche in Cole Bay is your best bet. Liquor is very cheap in Le Grand Marche.
I love the kitchen, fully stocked and with very sharp knives. Good blender for Piña Coladas or any frozen drinks. I’m a foodie and I love cooking; the kitchen was perfect for me. Place is very clean and neat. Very comfortable bed, my wife and I slept like babies. Waking up and walking out to the terrace and seeing the catamarans, sailboats and yachts docked was a bonus in terms of relaxation. We enjoy the beautiful sunset as well.
We felt very safe and the people around the area are friendly. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby including a McDonalds.
During the week we drove to The Rainbow Café in Grand Case for lunch, to Riu for a day pass in Anse Marcel, Maho Bay, Mullet Bay and Little Bay. Don’t Bother with RIU day pass, skip it and go to a nearby beach club instead.
If you don’t mind cooking and love great accommodation then don’t waste money on All-inclusive resorts or over price hotels with mediocre accommodations. In fact, Paradise Beach was a much better place and deal than one of Sandals Resort I went to. And if you are planning to stay in the new Riu All-Inclusive resort in St. Martin, you will most likely spent more than double the amount for a week stay just because food and beverages are included, and the type of room will most likely be a tiny garden view. That’s double the amount plus tax. That’s insane! Just cook your own food, buy your own alcohol, make your drink, and once in a while dine out. The experience will be much better and cost effective.
Please note Internet service in the island is slow and at times not reliable, both on the Dutch and French side. Good enough to browse, read and send emails.
I highly recommend this place and definitely come back to this place in a heart beat!
Thank you Jill for making our vacation perfect! Thank you, Gordon for the valuable recommendations."

"Thank you Gordon and team for another wonderful vacation in our favorite location, Simpson Bay. The condo was immaculate, as expected, well furnished and well equipped. We take vacations to relax, unwind and be on "our" time. Can't beat being literally steps away from the sand and surf on a very deserted beach. No crowds, no fighting over chairs - just pure heaven being alone with the love of my life! What did we do for 12 days - not sure other then enjoying each others company! We did go to Karakter, about 100 yards on the beach west of the condo, a favorite of ours for over a year now. Had a stunning fish dinner, ate tapas one night and two delicious lunches and many many of their wonderful drinks. Go casual, the staff are barefoot! Atlantico, a French bakery about 1/2 mile away on Airport Road, has the best fresh baguettes, a daily trip for me to get our breakfast and eat on the back deck of the condo. In fact we never ate in the house - only on the back deck! The only planned activity was a sunset cruise on the sailing schooner Passaat. Not to be missed if you love sailing. Don't worry, Gordon will give you a detailed briefing after you arrive on how everything works in the condo and where great restaurants are, grocery stores and anything else you can think of. In closing - we are already booked in Oceans Edge for mid Sept - 3 months and counting - does that tell you something about the condo and how much we enjoy the property!!!!"

"Our family stayed at the Sandpiper for a week and enjoyed every day of it. The view was spectacular. Pool was quiet and relaxing. The property was well maintained and beautifully decorated. The property manager was very conscientous in providing suggestions on restaurants, activities, etc. The only minor annoyance were the chickens across the street, but by Day 2 we kindof enjoyed them. The bedroom facing them kept the air conditioning on at night to avoid that noise. Would definitely stay here again. It was a slice of heaven!"

"Our family of 4, (Mom, Dad, 2 teenagers) stayed here for 2 weeks for our family vacation and we just couldn't have asked for a better setup.
I'll start with a bit about the condo itself:
The condo is perfect for a family like ours, with a master suite downstairs (privacy!), and 2 bedrooms upstairs, (1 large, one smaller) with a full bath on the 2nd floor. It also has a half bath off the living room for convenience. The balconies on both floors offer great views of the ocean, and our kids really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the yachts go by, and in the distance occasionally a cruise ship on its way to Phillipsburg. Pretty cool.
The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need for a quick breakfast, as well as the kitchen tools you'd need to make a full-on meal, (which we did on a couple of nights). The condo has wi-fi, (which all of us really appreciated) as well as a DVD player, Bose dock and all the comforts of home. Everything was exceptionally clean and we really appreciated the little touches like abundant baskets of beach towels and brochures of local restaurants and activities.
Now for the location:
AMAZING!!! Simpson Bay Beach is a real gem. It seems to be primarily a locals beach, as it is quiet and mostly used by the folks that live or rent along it, this gives it a real relaxing and fun vibe... The beach is just a few steps from the condo, just past the beautiful pool and through the privacy gate. The sand is white, and the beach is about 2 miles long... perfect for a walk in the morning or as a perfect vantage point for taking in the incredible sunsets. (We did this most nights!)
Just down the beach to the right is a fantastic beach bar/restaurant called Karakter, which you really shouldn't miss. We spent a LOT of time there, and our teens really liked strolling down there on their own to meet up with new friends and grab a bite. It was a fan favorite all around, they have a tapas and jazz night every friday which my wife and I really enjoyed.
We had a wonderful time at this condo and hope to stay here again on our next trip to St. Maarten. It was everything we needed, and much more than we expected! Two thumbs up!"
