"Took a guys trip with two of my buddies. We decided on La Casita because of the amazing view of the ocean we saw from the pics. The pics do not do the view any justice at all. It's breathtaking! You'll literally just want to be by the pool all day long having drinks and relaxing to the sound of the ocean waves crashing. The area was very nice as well. In a nice family friendly neighborhood tucked away from all the noise of the Maho beach area. It's about a 5 min drive from the airport and 7 min from Maho beach area. The infamous sunset beach bar (If you don't know it's where everyone goes to check out the airplanes) is within walking distance but the sun will most likely destroy you before you get there haha. This isn't the owners fault but my only complaint is the mosquitos. Bring bug spray. Owner does have citronella candles available outside by the main table. All bedroom entrances face the pool/courtyard area. At night while you sleep you can hear the waves crashing vividly. Set an alarm because the sound of the waves crashing will put you to bed for HOURS!! Kitchen was a nice size stocked with all utensils and cookware. We went to a market near the main area and stocked up on bottled water and groceries before we checked in. By your wine/liquor in SXM it's dirt cheap compared to the DF.

"When we first walked in it was very nice, but was damp and musty. Very clean, most things you would need including dish towels, paper products, and soaps. The bathroom had towels and wash cloths beach towels were provided and switched at front desk. House keeping if you wanted was an extra charge. The ocean view is great. Very nice pool area. You are right next to the airport for plane viewing which we wanted. They even have a viewing deck area where you can reach out and almost touch the planes. It can have airplane noise during the day(which we love) but quite quiet after 7pm. We were very happy with our decision. The pull out couch was uncomfortable. But the next am. We had a visitor in the bathroom, a roach. There was spray under one of the cabinets and knowing this is the Caribbean I figured you may see one. So we sprayed around the room. But when we came back to the room they were all over. We were very upset and called roger. He said he never had a problem like this and said they have bug control monthly to prevent any problems like this. I told him I wouldn't stay there and he immediately made other accommodations for us. Roger was honest and wonderful to deal with. So it is hard to review this but I felt I had to be honest about the roaches. The other room he provided was very nice, and had no problems."

"This was our third time at Aquazen in less than three years (family of 5 with children ages 11, 8, and 5). We had again a great time. We like the house layout and modern furnishings (you can tell that Christian's wife is a designer) and its location on the water. There are little things that make this house special. Our kids love sleeping in the loft, we play games on the deck outside with beautiful views of the bay, my wife and I enjoy nespresso coffee machine for our morning dose of caffeine, Philippe is always willing to help, and I enjoy talking to Christian, the owner, when he comes to visit. The house is conveniently located with an easy access to stores, Orient beach and Grand Case (my favorite restaurant destination). It is amazing that such a small town can offer so many great culinary destinations.
Unlike our last trip, this time wind was not too strong and we were able to kayak to Pinel island every day. We also had fun practicing on paddle board. For us beginners, it is great that the bay is protected and has almost no waves. Visiting St. Martin over New Year and staying at Aquazen has become a tradition for us. We are already looking forward to our next year’s trip back"
