  • Beautiful setting

"My family of six, children ages 18,16,14 and 11 stayed for a week. Great setting and we never got tired of the view. The house is spacious and the pool/deck is wonderful. The pictures are accurate. It is very comforting having a staff on site and Maureen was great. The house is on a hillside which provides the great view, so there is a bit of a steep walk to the beach. The beach at Oyster Pond is very small and we would highly recommend the beach at Orient Bay which is a short drive. Busby's is a great little beach bar with good breakfeasts. Would also highly recommend a yacht rental at SXM. Pricey, but worth it and Pinel Island is a great place for lunch. The location was great as it was also a short drive to Phillipsburg. The only minor downside of the house is that the family room was very warm even at night. It is not air-conditioned which is understandable given the shortages on the island. The ocean breezes never seemed to cool the room down which during the day didnt matter as we were never inside, but, at night it was still very warm. May have just been the week we were there. I would recommend some larger fans in that room. Suzanne was an absolute joy to work with"

  • Great Location

"This is our 3rd vacation on the wonderful Island of St Maarten and our 2nd stay in the Beacon Hill, Simpson Bay area. The views are absolutely beautiful. When you open the front door and walk into La Casita it is quite breathtaking! The location is also great with close proximity to beaches and restaurants. La Casita property is in good condition, beautiful pool area, wonderful wicker lounge furniture, the entire house was well decorated but requires some updates such as a hand rail installed leading to the pool level...very slippery. I actually took quite a fall going down these stairs. I really love to BBQ and of course was expecting a modern gas BBQ but to my disbelief, there was a charcoal one -doesn't work well when your located on the ocean with the strong breeze. The house had many mosquitos from the time we arrived; they were present in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. The biggest disappointment was the 2 loud barking dogs at 32 Beacon Hill next door that started anytime from 5:45 AM and continued most of the morning. The morning barking stopped after the 5th day......but picked up periodically in the late afternoon and evenings. The pool was very clean and the gentleman that cleaned the pool was quite friendly. There are local fellows that came to surf in front of the villa each day and it was most entertaining to watch them. The air conditioner in the living room was not working the first day however, it was fixed the next day - definitely need the air conditioner. The keys for all the doors are annoying - it would certainly help (as per previous reviews) to mark the door keys more clear."

  • Beautiful property, directly on beach, perfect!

"You want to stay here. Hands down the most perfect location in NBBC. Directly on the only perfect stretch of this beach which is between two huge rock walls and really, it's your own, you will be likely the only people on it as we were. Walk right out of your huge open wall of doors into the sea, gorgeous clean sand, no rocks, no seaweed, crystal clear water. Let the waves lull you to sleep in your comfortable bed! For a rental, this place was incredible, every item you need, tons of towels, the furniture clean and comfortable. Plenty big for our family of 4. The entire back and side open up to let in the gorgeous sunshine, sea air and view. Oh did I mention the view? Anguilla to one side and Marigot and the mountains of the St. Martin the other. You have never seen a more beautiful sunrise. NBBC itself is quiet and close to everything, parking plentiful, people were friendly and the grounds well taken care of and lovely, the pools looked nice but we didn't use them due to our perfect beach. NBBC is gated with a guard and you can't get onto the beach without coming through the gates. We felt very safe here. Lots of local Europeans living in NBBC who keep their own apartments beautiful with flowers, etc. It's really magical. There is a little french cafe for bakery and espresso a few steps from NBBC, a grocery store and a some really nice restaurants also within walking distance. For all else you will need a car. We will always go back here. Sylvie (the owner) is beautiful as well. Friendly, helpful, checked on us to be sure everything was ok and became a dear friend. A perfect compliment to the villas and apartments she owns. She is truly concerned with having lovely rentals and keeping them nice and taking care of her renters. The microwave broke while we were there, we told her and went to dinner. When we returned, there was a new one. She owns other properties here which are also just as gorgeous, you absolutely cannot go wrong with any of them. Worth every penny and more, just let Sylvie help you choose the proper one for the size of your family/party. She knows what she is doing and wants you to be happy! This is a long review but I can't say enough about this place. I expected so much less and was blown away by what we got. I've stayed at a lot of rentals by owner and this is by far the best, especially for the price. If you want more info on this place from me ask Sylvie. I'm happy to share our experience and she can put you in touch with me."

  • Lovely Condo

"We stayed here for one week from 12/9/14 to 12/16/14. The villa is exactly as pictured in the new pictures. Everything worked as it should and the house was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and the living room furniture was functional. The two TV's worked well and the internet service was adequate enough to get emails easily - surfing the web was slow though. It was very convenient to the new causeway which made getting to the French side a breeze. Access to the beach was easy and secure. There were several well stocked grocery stores close by - all great pluses. We had only two issues with the unit. First was parking. The designated spot for this unit is the end spot in front of the building. There is a concrete wall on one side and the spot next to it was occupied by a full time resident with a very large Ram pickup truck with a motorcycle parked in front of it. It stuck out very far making swinging into the spot from the one way street extremely difficult. It always took multiple back and forth swings with one person directing from the street especially if a local resident parked across the street from the parking spot. Our car was on the larger side for island rentals so it might not be as bad with a compact car but it really wasn't fun getting in and out of the spot. We often dreaded going out for that reason. The other issue was the lack of shade. Some might love this but we were hoping that the covered patio and balcony would have offered shade for more of the day. There was no shade after 10:30AM until sunset on either the ground floor patio or upstairs balcony. There are no umbrellas on the pool deck so if you cannot tolerate continuous sun you are out of luck. There are beach chairs and sand umbrellas available but there was no real beach in front of the unit the week we were there. That changes throughout the year but was not good when we were there. Despite our two issues we still had a lovely week at the condo. We might not stay there again but would recommend it to others as long as the parking and sun/shade were mentioned ahead of time and everyone was okay with it. The views of the boats on the bay overlooking Saba were tremendous and the sunsets awesome."

St Maarten Travel Tips

Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
