Recent St Maarten property reviews

  • Don't pass up this gem of a place.

"The reviews are right about this place as it is a private villa with a 180 degree view of the ocean WITH ITS OWN PRIVATE POOL! You cannot go wrong with staying here. It has been recently renovated with a modern touch and the owners did not skimp on ANY detail. It is in a secluded and private part of the island yet not too far from the main road, Airport Road, where several local restaurants and shops exist. My wife and I rented a car, grabbed local sandwiches and beer, and went to the beaches during the day. Afterward, we relaxed at the pool and watched the sunset and cruise ships depart from St. Phillipsburg while drinking the best Bordeaux wine we’ve ever had. The owners are very accommodating and responsive to any inquiries you may have. This place has Wi-Fi if you really need it, cable TV, and the owners provide you with a prepaid cell phone. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, and plates giving you the option to cook at home and coolers for the beach or the local fish market. You also have a house keeper who cleans every day, and a pool keeper who comes twice a week. It is definitely worth traveling around the entire island to experience the culture. This was our first visit to St. Maarten and it took about two days for us to get acclimated to the island. For some reason road signs hardly exist on the island so use landmarks for navigation (we think locals sold them to cruise ship tourists and the gov’t got tired of replacing them). Our favorite spots were Café Atlantico for breakfast, Karakter Beach Lounge and Restaurant, Baie Rouge and Cupecoy beaches, and Royal Food Store for French sandwiches (located 1 mile east of Baie Rouge beach on the left). We are so happy with our decision to stay here as it turned out better than expected. This is the perfect destination if you just want to relax, enjoy the sun, and celebrate pina colada hour, every hour. Of course, if you are seeking adventure you can definitely do so as kayak, sail boat, and boat tours are available. It is one thing to dream over the pictures and another to experience them. We are already planning our next trip back to St. Maarten, and Villa Libre is where we will stay again!"

  • Fantastic holidays

"I rented the villa with my family for christmas and I really was impressed by the location and the view over the caribean sea. Patrick the guardian is very smart and always helpful for advicing us on what to do and where to go around! Large place to live, well furnished, walking distance to the beach.... The pool is a smart idea after the beach or at night while sunset go down... What else?..."

  • Why stay anywhere else?

"This villa was absolutely amazing! My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks and loved every minute! Everything is so convenient and if you don't want to venture out you don't have to! The marina market is a short walk away, as well as 3 wonderful restaurants... all just around the corner from the villa. Everything in the villa was clean and the housekeeper and pool guy were very friendly. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable! We have stayed in many villas all throughout the Caribbean, but this is by far one of the best! The owner was very helpful with recommendations and addressing any questions we had. We will return soon!"

  • Another fabulous visit

"We just returned from our second stay at Villa Suzanne! We were so happy to return to this magnificent home. We were quickly reminded of the breathtaking views and the beautiful atmosphere that this home offers. John and Susan are the wonderful owners and so accommodating. We had to make some last minute changes and add more rooms to our reservation. Catherine was a pleasure as always, constantly making sure we had everything we needed and answering our questions. We love the newest recommendations from the owners about Palm Beach, an absolutely must do. Our day there was simply paradise, Stephan took care of us all day, he was amazing. Drinks and lunch at the beach, the best service anywhere. Some of our favorite restaurants are in Grand Case, Piazza Pascale as well as Le Soleil both definitely worth the visit. We also enjoyed Mamas pizza in oyster bay and one of our favorites in Simpson Bay is Izi, delicious Italian food. Thank you again to John and Susan for letting us stay in their beautiful ocean view home. As I have said before The pictures are amazing, but in person it is even better. Simply put the best villa on all of Dawn Beach! Look forward to returning in the future."

St Maarten Travel Tips

St. Maarten Resorts Present a Personal Holiday

Do you want a personal stay, where it feels like the owners have set everything up just for you? If you want a kitchen for home-cooked meals, a centrally located home, and the sunrise outside your bedroom window then St. Maarten lodging is precisely what you need. Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
