  • An amazing place to stay on the French side

"We (6 friends from Germany, Italy and Belgium) had a great stay in this property in Nov/Dec 2013. Everything is matching the descriptions given here and all photos are showing the actual situation, it is actually even better in my opinion... First the location, I usually always prefer the better view over the house features, but this one has both - a magnificent view, located on almost top of the hill overlooking the orient bay and the majority of the other villas in this gated community, and great features. The owners made a great decision to build the terrace railing completely of glass, so you can enjoy the spectacular view from every spot on the dark wooden (!) terrace who is divided into a lovely pool (not super large but still completely sufficient) and a chill-out/ dine area with a little mini bar. Inside the house you have a two floor layout with 3 bedrooms on the upper and a pool view bedroom on the lower floor. All rooms were clean, are designed with taste and not just a bed + chair and thats it. Kitchen is fully equipped including Gas BBQ outside, huge freezer etc. We also loved the washing machine + dryer and the little Roulette-/ Poker-table setup that gave the extra Casino atmosphere :-) The villa is surrounded by a huge lovely green garden with a big fan palm right in front of the terrace. There is an additional apartment right below the villa (as a under-ground floor so to speak) due to the hill side construction, it was booked for one week during our stay but we didn't notice anybody as it has its own access to the garden, also with independent parking outside. The French side is great and we were so happy to have chosen it over the Dutch part which way more touristic and noisy. Great and very fast communication with Claire the owner, who lives in France and provided us a great deal for the 3 weeks. Minor drawbacks (not for us) were pay-TV not working properly during our stay (but honestly who needs this, you are in TV yourself in the Caribbean) and Phillipe, their great and friendly housekeeper and gardener, only speaks a few words in English, but this was also no problem since we had someone with us who is a native speaker. Overall a great choice of property in one of the best areas on the French side. Recommended. Alex from Germany"

  • A room with a view

"Based upon reviews, initially I was excited about the studio, and a little concerned about the location and parking. However, the location is perfect and parking was not an issue- there are two parking lots, each well lighted after dark. This was the fourth trip, in the past six years, to St. Martin for my husband and me, and we have rented a condominium or villa during each trip; this is the location I would return to! The view from the patio is lovely and the close proximity to beaches, restaurants, and markets is beneficial. We rented a car as we like to traverse various beaches around the island, and I would recommend that visitors also rent a car- there is so much to see and do on St. Martin/Sint Maarten! The studio is packed with everything needed to cook and relax. The beautiful kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a coffee maker… the list goes on and on. The bathroom has a washing machine and there is ample room and sun to quickly dry clothes. The bed is more than comfortable, and the convenience of cable TV, wireless internet, and a safe are extras that are appreciated! I would be remiss if I did not mention that a warm baguette can be purchased each morning from the market at the entrance to the studios- a true treat! Though I speak no French, and Patricia, the local manager speaks little English, obtaining the keys was easy. Patricia was waiting for us as we pulled up, and was available when needed. Additionally, Joanna, the owner promptly responded to emails when arranging the rental, before, and during our 10 days in paradise. Hope to return soon!"

  • AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!

"Our trip to St. Martin Villa Steel Magnolia was a graduation trip for our granddaughter. We had 11 family members that made the trip to celebrate this big accomplishment in her life. The villa was in a great location, accommodations were exceptional with the 6 bedrooms. Each bedroom was very spacious and each had its own bathroom which is very important. Even though St. Martin had several outstanding beaches having a pool at the villa was a very nice touch! The groundskeeper was there each day to manage the day to day business of the villa. He did an exceptional job as well as the housekeeper and the villa chef who cooked an awesome meal for us the first night we arrived and then again on our last night at the villa. I can say that we all are honored to call these three special people friends! We would go back in a heart beat!!"

  • Beautiful Vacation Spot

"Two Senior couples both celebrating our 45th wedding Anniversaries, we take an great trip every 5th year and this one was AWESOME!! Our prompt host Michel went to great extremes to see we were comfortable!! The Apt is better than the photos, magnificent views from the HUGE balcony overlooking the quaint Grand Case villa of truly outstanding restaurants. The main drag in Grand Case will remind you of the French Quarter in New Orleans with narrow roads and all the second floor balconies. Parking was never a problem, the tiny airport runaway across the street was fun to watch when the occasional plane landed and we loved being right next door to the Calmos Cafe a true beach bar and restaurant. The Cafe has a beach chair special, if you have snacks or lunch there your beach chairs and umbrellas are free all day. The village people are as friendly as any we have ever met. Marigot a few miles away has great shopping and a if you want a more commercial resort Front Street on the Dutch side in Phillipsburg is a short drive away with plenty of oceanside bars and shops like Venice Beach in Ca. There is a large grocery store about 3 miles inland. We really enjoyed our stay will keep it on our list of places to return to."

St Maarten Travel Tips

St. Maarten Resorts Present a Personal Holiday

Do you want a personal stay, where it feels like the owners have set everything up just for you? If you want a kitchen for home-cooked meals, a centrally located home, and the sunrise outside your bedroom window then St. Maarten lodging is precisely what you need. Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
