  • All good things come to an end....until next time.

"Thank you/merci Jean Pierre. Your apartment is absolutely lovely. Clean, well equipped, stunning views from both balconies etc. Four of us just spent 12 beautiful days in Grand Case and were fortunate enough to rent your apt. Perfect location to enjoy Grand Case. Had an opportunity to eat at some of the beautiful restaurants just steps away from the apt. It's a perfect location to call it home base while visiting some of the most beautiful beaches on both the French and Dutch side. Truly a gem. Definitely recommend if you want to get to know the Island. When we go back to St. Martin we will be staying here again, no question."

  • Excellent!

"My wife and I stayed here for 11 nights in November and it was great. We opted for this size unit over a studio to give us some extra room but what really made this ideal was the location of the unit, the reserved parking spot and how well equipped the unit is. As others have commented, the kitchen is well stocked and included little things zip lock bags, aluminum foil, spices, etc.. We drove to several other beaches during our stay and the beach chairs and umbrella were excellent - portable but substantial (not your Walmart one time use items) and several coolers from which to choose. There are 2 remote controlled A/C units that are whisper quiet (not sure why hotels don't use these?) and the electric storm shutters not only keep the morning light out but made us feel secure at night. Marie-France was easy to deal with and very responsive. She met us at the unit, gave us the quick tour, left us a local cell phone to use and made sure we felt "at home". I highly recommend this unit! We have rented from VRBO many times and this one is the best so far. We don't usually re-visit the same place but might have to make an exception for this one!"

  • Great House, So-So Management

"La Martiniere is a well designed house with stunning views over Orient Bay with St. Barth's in the distance. The deck area by the pool is particularly nice. You can be in the shade no matter what time of day. The beds are comfortable and all the appliances worked well. The plantings around the pool and side of the house are very attractive. Even though the steep, narrow driveway is a bit of a challenge, the house and grounds are definitely five star. We were met promptly on our arrival by Jean-Phillippe from the property managers. He quickly showed us some of the basics: How the safe box works; how to make the metal window guards go up and down, etc. He left quickly without telling us how to work to clothes washer with its French instructions; how to work the various remotes; what the alarm? gadget at the pool was and how it worked; and before we could ask our questions. He said he didn't know about the housekeeping schedule, but would get back to us. He didn't. He also said he'd check on us later in the week. He didn't. The otherwise helpful binder with information about the house and area said the "housekeeper will be in every day except Sunday for a few hours to clean and place fresh linens." On another page it said the housekeeper would come either "every 4th day or so," every other day, or every day except Sunday. We had no housekeeping services. The lead property manager told us that on instructions from the owner there were no housekeeping services during our stay. This is really no big deal, but the written policy needs to be made accurate. More important is that there was mold on the wall in the master bath, a few roaches, and a bunch of dead insects in a corner of the living room. One mosquito repellant device was low on oil. The other was empty. We bought the oil and a third device at the local store, so had little trouble with mosquitos indoors after that. (Pest control must be hard to keep up with on the island, so we know the property managers have a challenge with it.) Finally, we got conjunctivitis there. Given exposure and time of onset, our doctor thinks it might have come from the pool. I hope not, because otherwise, the pool is great. We'd gladly return to La Martiniere if some of the issues (mold, pest management) issues were taken care of and especially if we knew the pool was safe."

  • Beautiful location

"We spent 8 days in this very nice rental. We chose it for location and beautiful ocean view. You could walk from the condo to Orient Beach and it was heavenly. The unit was very nice with everything we needed. Just a few minor repairs on a couple things could be done, but nothing substantial. Just an FYI for those choosing any unit in Mont Vernon, it does required a lot of walking as you go from the parking lot to any unit. There is no close parking. We found a great grocery store just a short drive away with everything we needed. We were pleasantly greeted by Bruno who was very helpful with explaining how everything worked as well as great directions on getting to this place from the airport. Driving anywhere on the island was easy once you grasp the narrow roads and local drivers. We would definitely book again because we were all about the ocean view location. We spent everyday on the beach!"

St Maarten Travel Tips

St. Maarten Resorts Present a Personal Holiday

Do you want a personal stay, where it feels like the owners have set everything up just for you? If you want a kitchen for home-cooked meals, a centrally located home, and the sunrise outside your bedroom window then St. Maarten lodging is precisely what you need. Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
