  • The perfect place

"We have been to St Martin several times, and stayed at different locations each time. This was by far the best place. As soon as we opened the door to this villa we fell in love. The view is spectacular - and the covered deck runs the full length of the unit. Never needed the A/C, lots of fans and ocean breezes, and it was lovely to go to sleep with the sounds of the waves and the tree frogs. Coral Shores is a great little complex. Beautifully landscaped - flowers everywhere, and the pool is gorgeous - and not at all crowded. Plenty of lounges, with sun or shade. Well stocked villa, with everything you need - blender for those tropical drinks, gas grill, even binoculars for observing the boats going by. Very nice housekeeping staff who meet you and explain everything you need to know, and they keep the unit very clean. Already thinking about when we can return."

  • AWESOME 5 NIGHTS..ROOM WITH A VIEW

"Joined by another couple, we enjoyed 5 fabulous nights at the OBBR in late April 2014. The condo was perfectly suited for 2 couples. The bedrooms were quite large and the bedding/ mattresses were hotel quality. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the utensils and dinnerware you could ask for. The bathrooms were more than adequate and linens/towels were plentiful. The location was great. Easy to cab to Grand Case, Orient Beach or Philipsburg for dinner/ beach. But lets face it..the selling point of this condo is the rooftop pool/kitchen. The roof was completely private day,... and night, and you had great views of St. Barts on even the cloudiest of days. The pictures do not do the rooftop pool justice. You could easily get your sun up there all day while enjoying your own beverages from the kitchen. Irene was very attentive to all of our requests prior to landing. She replied almost always on the same day and was extremely easy to work with. We could not have been happier with her service. A great place to stay and we someday hope to be back! Thanks so much Irene. This review was easy to write."

  • A wonderful hideaway on a very busy island!

"We loved our stay at this home! Located in Terres Basses, the home is on a peninsula that is probably the quietest part of what has grown to be a very busy, tourist-congested island, with a lot of traffic and cruisers. This home is an escape! With a lovely pool and lots of fruit trees, an outdoor kitchen, and the rooms and bedrooms in different little buildings, it's like a little Caribbean village, where the owner also has her home and art studio, and her sister has her home. The owner and her sister are around, but they're both very busy working, so you have the run of the place. However, the owner does take the time to help orient you if you haven't been to the island before and has lots of good advice should you require it. Terres Basses has its own beach, which is lovely, and there are good restaurants in Cupecoy, right down the road. You're not far from the French capital Marigot, and the spectrum of shops, restaurants and services there. You're also just a skip away from one of the best restaurants on the island, La Cigale. But mainly, this home provides the privacy, tranquility and space to breathe and relax, with warm and informed guides to help you plan your stay (or not). We had my 3-year-old daughter, and this was perfect for her, as one of the huts had a double and single bed, so she stayed with us. And then my Mom stayed in another hut with two bedrooms (she only used one). The owner and her sister are both artists, and a tour of the art studio to see and hear about their work is recommended. I would recommend this for the spectrum of travelers - families with young or older children, couples and groups - except those without a car/scooter, as it might be difficult to get around from here without one. The owner does have dogs and cats, all friendly, who mostly lie around under the bushes, but I'm not sure how she feels about pets. People with disabilities might have trouble getting up a flight of stone steps to the main pool landing. One room can be accessed from there, and another small flight of steps goes up to the other bedrooms. All in all, this is a Shangri-La!"

  • Enjoyable week

"Excellent value. Except for the steep flight of steps leading from the bedroom level to the living area level, this villa was a great choice of accommodation for us. Five adults needed a place where we could relax, prepare and enjoy our meals, and be close to Philipsburg. We got that here, with a spectacular view included. The configuration of the bedrooms is not as stated on this site, however the owner Gary will provide the correct breakdown. We didn't use the 4th bedroom, which is attached to the villa, but has a separate entrance that opened to the front visible from the street, as opposed to rear opening accessing the kitchen if total property was being utilized by one family. Villa was more than large enough for the 5 of us. Pros: More than enough towels, both bath and beach. Spacious stocked kitchen including dishwasher. Washer and dryer. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked well. The sun was hot enough so the pool wasn't cold. Cons: Tiles in bathrooms are really really slippery. Don't know if that was caused by moisture or whatever was used to clean. Despite a mat being on the floor, one of the ladies took a nasty tumble. The DVD player hooked up to the surround sound system worked well for music, however DVDs show in black&white. New cables/hookup needed. Since the furniture is dark colored, it attracts mosquitoes. Don't forget your bug repellant. The price of rental includes 1 visit from a cleaning lady and a pool attendant. Neither showed up to clean anything. I spoke to the property manager twice who promised that a cleaning lady would come by. On Friday I gave up on seeing her. We were leaving the next day anyway. We kept the place clean, however the garbage was overflowing the outside can and reeking because of the shrimp shells in the bags. Villa needs to have a phone available just for local calls so folks don't have to pay roaming charges on their foreign accounts. All in all, this is a good place to hang out for a week or so. A car is necessary though because exploring the French side is a must. The directions from the airport to the villa that the owner gave me were easy and precise. Supermarkets close by for all your needs. Casinos and beach close by on Front Street in Philipsburg."
