  • Great view with all the convenience of home

"This condo was awesome; beautifully decorated with a view that photos couldn't do justice to. The staff was great, if you called with a question or problem, they were at your door in minutes to assist you. I do recommend a car so that you can tour the island and enjoy all that St Marteen has to offer. At first the island is a little scary to drive on and the maps aren't real thorough, but it only takes a couple of times to drive anywhere and you will know your way around and find that it is very easy to drive. Luckily this condo is on the second floor because there are no elevators. So let the staff carry your bags up if they offer, and even if they don't offer, ask them they will be glad to assist. We loved St Marteen and this condo and we are trying to plan our next trip back."

  • Great condo!

"Great location. We walked to Simpson Bay beach, Maho Bay beach, & Mullet Bay beach from the condo! Dollar bus is awesome and they stop wherever you want to get off. Tons of great places to eat nearby. The pool and property was awesome. Jackie was great and very helpful! The only down side to the condo was that it had ants. We had to keep every food item in the fridge. They were just little ants so not a huge deal to us. Awesome holiday!!"

  • Beautiful Oasis by the Sea

"To keep things concise, here's a point form breakdown of our experience at La Calanthe in July, 2014: Convenience - A very short drive from the airport, Marigot and Philipsburg! Very conveniently located near two grocery stores and a few decent restaurants. Kim Sha beach is less than 10 minutes by foot but we opted to rent a car from AAA and visit other more beautiful beaches instead. A great location! Safety - Gated and with Coco and Bruno right next door with their sweet dog Chanel, we always felt safe. We always locked up at night just as Coco and Bruno asked. There are lots of gated homes with guard dogs in this neighbourhood so it felt very safe. We did walk the road to Simpson Bay a couple of times but only did so during daylight. Water - Pool was awesome. Huge deck with a variety of loungers etc. Ocean was great for snorkelling and easy to access from the ladder. Watch the currents on windy days as they can become very strong if you're not a solid swimmer. Kitchen - All the amenities we needed as well as a BBQ outside. Oven takes a long time to heat up so try to use the BBQ for all meals. Rooms and Baths - Lovely and clean. Nice linens and frequent changing of towels. Lots of room to spread out in common areas although we rarely stayed indoors except to sleep! Tips - Rent a car as there is so much to see and do on this island and everything is so close relative to what we're used to in Canada! If you like to snorkel check out Little Bay on the Dutch side and Baie Rouge on the French side. Downfalls - Nothing really other than the mosquitos which were quite active during our stay, day and night, inside and outside. There are no screens on the windows or the porch and there is some lush vegetation on-site, so the bugs were a bit of a nuisance. We kept the bedroom and bathroom doors closed all day (a/c on at night only) and used lots of repellant with DEET. We did get many bites regardless but hopefully it's just a result of the rainy season. All in all an impeccable experience. And what a view! Highly recommended for LGBT families as well, given how comfortable we were made to feel."

  • We had an amazing week at the Arches!

"You have found the Arches, so you can stop looking for a place to stay. We stayed a week at the Arches in April 2014. We had 3 couples and we had an amazing time. We are already planning on going back next year and staying at the Arches again. The house is perfect, spacious, amazing views, every amenity you may want (except for a hot tub). Sitting in the pool in the afternoon with a drink, watching the waves crash was perfect. We did all the "usual" things, going to Mr. Busby's for the $1 beers at happy hour (good food, although maybe overpriced at night), driving around the island to Marigot, Grand Case for dinner, Philipsburg, and of course, hanging out at the Sunset Bar by the airport. The location of the Arches provides easy access to everywhere, although it does take a little while to get used to driving on the island (but that's typical of all Caribbean island). The drive up the hills to the Arches can be a little challenging the first time, but once you're used to it, it's easy. Bernard and Eudora are great and very accommodating, and the owners make the whole process very easy. The kitchen is stocked with virtually everything you need, including various pantry items and liquors (everyone leaves behind what they didn't consume, so there are plenty of condiments, spices, etc.). It is an uphill walk from the beach, which may be challenging for some, and you will need mosquito repellent (again, standard in the Caribbean). It is a perfect location, and amazing house, and we will absolutely be going back to the Arches."

St Maarten Travel Tips

St. Maarten Resorts Present a Personal Holiday

Do you want a personal stay, where it feels like the owners have set everything up just for you? If you want a kitchen for home-cooked meals, a centrally located home, and the sunrise outside your bedroom window then St. Maarten lodging is precisely what you need. Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
