"Appartement propre, fonctionnel et très bien situé. Tout le nécessaire est là pour passer un agréable séjour, la dame qui est responsable des lieux est très courtoise et accueillante. Nous recommandons sans hésiter pour un couple seul ou avec de jeunes enfants."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: April 8, 2014View listing
"We just arrived home to the snow & cold after an almost perfect month-long vacation at La Martiniere. The location is perfect, the view is great & the private pool area is ideal. We enjoyed many hours of relaxing & tanning by the pool. The pool was ideal, perfect size, nice temperature. Liked the good old charcoal BBQ too. We scraped up the rental car a bit getting up the driveway, but the rental company didn't notice. Gael & Magali were very helpful whenever we had any problems - they even installed a new dishwasher right away when the old one didn't work so well. The pool guys, landscapers, & housekeepers were very good. We have been vacationing in St. Martin for the last 7 years & would rank this stay as a tie for first place. Weather was absolutely perfect. I was a little surprised to find a fridge labelled "Private" in the entranceway. Apparently someone else had access to our area, which was a little bit disconcerting. There is another villa attached to La Martiniere as well as 2 more villas just above and they all share the same parking area. Not quite as private as we were hoping for, but no problems. Thanks for a great vacation. We are missing it already, we will be back. D&D"Guest: D&D Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 25, 2014View listing
"Excellent value. Except for the steep flight of steps leading from the bedroom level to the living area level, this villa was a great choice of accommodation for us. Five adults needed a place where we could relax, prepare and enjoy our meals, and be close to Philipsburg. We got that here, with a spectacular view included. The configuration of the bedrooms is not as stated on this site, however the owner Gary will provide the correct breakdown. We didn't use the 4th bedroom, which is attached to the villa, but has a separate entrance that opened to the front visible from the street, as opposed to rear opening accessing the kitchen if total property was being utilized by one family. Villa was more than large enough for the 5 of us. Pros: More than enough towels, both bath and beach. Spacious stocked kitchen including dishwasher. Washer and dryer. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked well. The sun was hot enough so the pool wasn't cold. Cons: Tiles in bathrooms are really really slippery. Don't know if that was caused by moisture or whatever was used to clean. Despite a mat being on the floor, one of the ladies took a nasty tumble. The DVD player hooked up to the surround sound system worked well for music, however DVDs show in black&white. New cables/hookup needed. Since the furniture is dark colored, it attracts mosquitoes. Don't forget your bug repellant. The price of rental includes 1 visit from a cleaning lady and a pool attendant. Neither showed up to clean anything. I spoke to the property manager twice who promised that a cleaning lady would come by. On Friday I gave up on seeing her. We were leaving the next day anyway. We kept the place clean, however the garbage was overflowing the outside can and reeking because of the shrimp shells in the bags. Villa needs to have a phone available just for local calls so folks don't have to pay roaming charges on their foreign accounts. All in all, this is a good place to hang out for a week or so. A car is necessary though because exploring the French side is a must. The directions from the airport to the villa that the owner gave me were easy and precise. Supermarkets close by for all your needs. Casinos and beach close by on Front Street in Philipsburg."Guest: Carol B. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 31, 2014View listing
"Accommodations, furnishings, and service great. Stephane and staff very gracious and willing to assist in every way possible. Interesting the service is levels-above what you generally experience in France! Because you are on a resort cut off from access to the local surroundings, expect to pay a premium for meals and food. Some of the facilities on-resort are better values than others. Le Domaine has just opened a beach cabana bar that is very good and a fair value. AVOID "La Table du Marche", an-on site restaurant that's astronomical in price and mediocre at best. Consider renting a car on-site for a very reasonable rate. Stock up at one of the two local "supermarche's" and prepare in your very well furnished kitchen. One day's worth of groceries will more than pay for the rental car. The jet ski tour, while costly, is two-hours long, beautiful, and worth every penny- do it!"Guest: Dan Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: April 3, 2014View listing
