Recent St Maarten property reviews
"Based upon reviews, initially I was excited about the studio, and a little concerned about the location and parking. However, the location is perfect and parking was not an issue- there are two parking lots, each well lighted after dark. This was the fourth trip, in the past six years, to St. Martin for my husband and me, and we have rented a condominium or villa during each trip; this is the location I would return to! The view from the patio is lovely and the close proximity to beaches, restaurants, and markets is beneficial. We rented a car as we like to traverse various beaches around the island, and I would recommend that visitors also rent a car- there is so much to see and do on St. Martin/Sint Maarten! The studio is packed with everything needed to cook and relax. The beautiful kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a coffee maker… the list goes on and on. The bathroom has a washing machine and there is ample room and sun to quickly dry clothes. The bed is more than comfortable, and the convenience of cable TV, wireless internet, and a safe are extras that are appreciated! I would be remiss if I did not mention that a warm baguette can be purchased each morning from the market at the entrance to the studios- a true treat! Though I speak no French, and Patricia, the local manager speaks little English, obtaining the keys was easy. Patricia was waiting for us as we pulled up, and was available when needed. Additionally, Joanna, the owner promptly responded to emails when arranging the rental, before, and during our 10 days in paradise. Hope to return soon!"Guest: Kelly I. "We just spent six days at this outstanding location. When we walked in our jaws dropped. The pictures, while awesome, don't come close to the reality. This villa is truly extraordinary. The rooms are immaculate and luxurious. The kitchen is stocked with modern clean everything. But, the true charm is the pool and ocean, literally just feet away. The veranda has wonderful chairs and lounges and the pool blew us away. The outside shower that has a door to the inside shower is another fantastic feature. The cleaning and concierge staff are beyond five stars. The location has walkable restaurants, grocery and excursions. You are also a short drive from other spectacular beaches. We rented a car and did multiple trips around the island. The parking spot was huge and covered. We ate at Canoa, Mr. Busby's, Mama's Pizza, Capt. Olivers which are all either a one minute walk or drive away. L'Oasis was about a 2 minute drive and was our favorite restaurant. Wifi in every room. Bose radios in every room. Flat screens in every room. Beds are ultra comfortable with high-end bedding. Showers are modern and huge. If you are looking for total luxury, spectacular views, and service beyond spectacular, this is the place to rent. You will not be disappointed at all. We had two teen daughters with us and they never complained once. In fact, they often preferred to stay at the villa and use the pool and ocean as opposed to driving around."Guest: Bill Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 12, 2014View listing
"Group of 4 friends stayed for a week. Accommodations were perfect. Bob was very helpful and the rental unit was in excellent condition. Safe and friendly neighborhood, convenient location close to airport, shopping, dining and entertainment. Rooftop deck with amazing views was probably the highlight though, there is nothing like it. Would recommend to just about anyone from families to couples to a group of friends. A++"Guest: Andrew B. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 6, 2014View listing
"Villa Leone is a beautiful unit in the Guana Bay Villas. The unit sits right at the waterfront. We chose to stay on the first floor, "The Waves" . With the drapes open, we could wake to see the ocean, and go to sleep in the moonlight. The villa looks exactly as the pictures portray. It is bright, immaculate, and has all the amenities one could desire. The queen beds were new, sporting the softest of sheets and a cozy comforter. The unit had plenty of towels and the kitchen had everything we required. We chose to grill one evening, and dine on the patio by moonlight. Very romantic! The area is quiet and secluded. This is not the typical hotel/resort atmosphere. If you are looking for crowds you won't find it here. But, if you like privacy, and don't like to share your space with a huge crowd, you will love this villa. The pool is clean and well-maintained. And, the beach-access is just a short walk. You must have a car to access the area, and it is best to shop on your way in. The villa is a short ride to Phillipsburg, where you can walk along the "boardwalk" and enjoy local restaurants, shopping and the beach. For a lavish treat, take a ride to Pinelle Island, where you will find a beautiful beach, crystal clear water, and the best spiny lobster, as you dine right at the water!! Yummy. And, you may want to stop in at Topper's in Simpson Bay for a casual meal and lots of fun at karaoke. This was a fifth trip to St. Maarten, and the villa offered a different perspective to staying in a resort. We so enjoyed this trip, and look forward to next year."Guest: Joanne O. The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging
Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.
St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio
A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.
Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts
St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
