  • A wonderful hideaway on a very busy island!

"We loved our stay at this home! Located in Terres Basses, the home is on a peninsula that is probably the quietest part of what has grown to be a very busy, tourist-congested island, with a lot of traffic and cruisers. This home is an escape! With a lovely pool and lots of fruit trees, an outdoor kitchen, and the rooms and bedrooms in different little buildings, it's like a little Caribbean village, where the owner also has her home and art studio, and her sister has her home. The owner and her sister are around, but they're both very busy working, so you have the run of the place. However, the owner does take the time to help orient you if you haven't been to the island before and has lots of good advice should you require it. Terres Basses has its own beach, which is lovely, and there are good restaurants in Cupecoy, right down the road. You're not far from the French capital Marigot, and the spectrum of shops, restaurants and services there. You're also just a skip away from one of the best restaurants on the island, La Cigale. But mainly, this home provides the privacy, tranquility and space to breathe and relax, with warm and informed guides to help you plan your stay (or not). We had my 3-year-old daughter, and this was perfect for her, as one of the huts had a double and single bed, so she stayed with us. And then my Mom stayed in another hut with two bedrooms (she only used one). The owner and her sister are both artists, and a tour of the art studio to see and hear about their work is recommended. I would recommend this for the spectrum of travelers - families with young or older children, couples and groups - except those without a car/scooter, as it might be difficult to get around from here without one. The owner does have dogs and cats, all friendly, who mostly lie around under the bushes, but I'm not sure how she feels about pets. People with disabilities might have trouble getting up a flight of stone steps to the main pool landing. One room can be accessed from there, and another small flight of steps goes up to the other bedrooms. All in all, this is a Shangri-La!"

  • Home away from home!

"My wife, 6 year old daughter and myself stayed on St Maarten island from December 16th to Dec 30th. Our Mont Vernon Unit was just what we needed. We loved to wake up and open the patio doors to hear the sound of the surf while we had our morning coffee.Although the Orient Beach, where this unit is situated, was fully covered in seaweed from the recent hurricane we were able to drive to many great beaches in the surrounding area. Our favourite beach was Mullet bay on the Dutch side but also enjoyed many more including Maho, and Bay Rouge. Just a quick ride away was the best shopping and dining ( Grand Case) our daughter love the gelato shop there and my wife shopped in the La Boheme and found treasures.A large super market is also a short drive away( Simply) that seem to have all we needed at reasonable prices. There is a small pizza parlour, market and laundry on the property .All and all we enjoyed our stay so much we are already booking for next year."

  • Perfect Villa

"My wife and I just returned after two weeks at Villa Du Voyageur. The pictures on the website are accurate. The pool is beautiful and private. The villa is very well appointed, comfortable and safe. It was a perfect home during our vacation. The villa is located a five minute walk to the village, which provides access to a number of restaurants and a new and improved grocery store (Casino) as well as the beach. To the extent we had any questions or concerns, Frank and Nathalie were incredibly responsive and helpful. They are sincerely nice people and making their acquaintance was an added bonus. We have stayed in St. Martin on seven prior occasions, often at significantly greater expense, and we have never had such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We could not recommend Villa Du Voyageur more highly. We will be back. Paul and Joey"

  • Highly Recommend!

"Amazing stay! Great location. Views to die for! Gordon wS prompt, courteous, and full of excellent information and a great source for where to go and what to do on the island. Housekeeping staff was the friendliest and most professional I have ever encountered. Owners are gracious to open this lovely home of theirs to all who are fortunate to stay here. Recommend a car to see the entire island. Loved every minute!"

St Maarten Travel Tips

St. Maarten Resorts Present a Personal Holiday

Do you want a personal stay, where it feels like the owners have set everything up just for you? If you want a kitchen for home-cooked meals, a centrally located home, and the sunrise outside your bedroom window then St. Maarten lodging is precisely what you need. Act now as every year, more and more people find the little gem that holds St. Maarten resorts. You will have your pick of St. Maarten rentals along the coastline on Antilles.

The Antilles and St. Maarten Lodging

Antilles is a large island in the Caribbean waiting to greet you with perfect St. Maarten rentals. The island is owned by the French and the Dutch which peacefully share the land. St. Maarten is the Dutch side of Antilles, which is also the smaller portion of the landmass. The French spelling of St. Maarten is St. Martin, which helps you locate the proper St. Maarten lodging when you plan your vacation. The climate at St. Maarten resorts is a sunny and balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit virtually year-round, so you can visit at any time of year.

St. Maarten Rentals near Ruby Bute’s Studio

A true delight for many vacationers to St. Maarten rentals is visiting Ruby Bute, one of the most famous island artists. She creates botanical landscapes and images of island life through her paintings and poetry. Her studio and gallery are open in Marigot, north of downtown near Friar’s Bay. You might want to call first to make sure she is welcoming visitors for the day you plan the trip, and bring local currency to come home with one of her reasonably priced prints.

Island Gambling at St. Maarten Resorts

St. Maarten lodging is conveniently located near the island’s 12 casinos. All of these casinos are located on the Dutch side and with gaming in the European mode. Spend your late nights inside the St. Maarten resorts' casinos, and your days along the various beaches.
