"This villa is a paradise within the US. This is our second stay at the Villa Paulette, with friends and family. The first visit was Jan. 2012. The convenience of the villa to explore the Island and all it has to offer is great. The villa has an open floor plan with great bedrooms each with its own full bathroom. The open floor plan of kitchen, dining, and living area is great for spreading out to relax. The patio and pool is tucked behind a great group of native plants & trees for a private feel. Full kitchen amenities and beach side towels & chairs for use. Couldn't be more perfect of a week long get away! The owner is a wonderful man to work with and also has car rental services to accompany the villa. Which makes transportation to & from the villa Paulette; to & from Airport very convenient. Thank you! Will most likely be seeing you in 2014! Michiganders' Frugal Farmers-"

  • Loved it...exactly as described.

"We just returned from our stay on Great Guana Cay at L'il Gecko. The description "cute, cozy, convenient cottage at an outstanding price" is spot on. L'il Gecko is comfortably furnished and well stocked. The open floor plan and high ceilings make it seem more spacious. The view from the bed in the master is wonderful. We thought the location was perfect. It's close to the settlement, but yet has a private location. Not oceanfront but still great views. So close to a great beach access and the docks on the Sea of Abaco side. On our exploration of the island we didn't see anywhere we would rather stay, especially at the great price. Our most favorite parts of the cottage though are the lovely and extremely private tropical garden, the equally private and lovely outdoor shower and the very comfortably furnished screened porch. The owners were very helpful prior to our trip. Through email they sent very useful tips and information on the cottage and on Guana Cay. They also answered all our questions quickly and made us feel comfortable and prepared for our trip. The caretaker, Gina, met us at the dock on arrival and showed us the cottage and her husband stopped by to show us how to use the generator. We never needed it though as there was only one power outage and it was short in duration. Gina was also available to answer the couple of questions that arose during our stay. You can call her on the VHF, but we just sent a quick email that was shortly answered. Our ten days on Guana Cay were during the off-season and we very rarely saw another soul on the beach. Some days we saw NO ONE on the beach all day. We felt like we were on our own private island. There was hardly anyone at any of the restaurants either. I imagine it may be different during the season. The beaches at Guana are definitely it's strong point over the other two cays we visited by boat, Man-o-War and Elbow Cay. Those cays are beautiful too though and worth a visit if you rent a boat. Lots of great snorkeling too. Collin at Dive Guana was very helpful. The owner, Troy was on vacation while we were there. Go to Great Guana Cay and rent L'il Gecko. You'll be so happy you did."

  • Peaceful Bliss!!

"Our time at SurfSong was one of the most wonderful weeks of my life. We had near-perfect weather, and since our visit came a bit after the main 'season', we had one of the most beautiful beaches in the world largely to ourselves. Every day upon waking to the sound of the surf, I would look out the window and be amazed at the opportunity to be in such a beautiful, peaceful place. SurfSong is a great mix of casual beach house with the comforts of home. Since it's not close to resorts or towns, it's like a private paradise. Winnie, the housekeeper, came every day and put fresh flowers in every room and made sure the house was clean. She was helpful and unobtrusive - and I wanted to record her laugh so I could hear it again when I got back to the US! It take a bit of driving to get to the nearest store or restaurant, so Surfsong is best for people who enjoy preparing and sharing meals together. We had some incredible meals made with fish caught that day by the fisherman of Tarpum Bay (about 20 minutes away). As a side note, getting used to driving on the left hand side of the road - even with a US car with the steering wheel on the left side - was easy. The biggest challenge was coming up with any reason to leave the house and beach!) That said, a day trip to Harbour Island (a short boat trip from the dock near the North Eleuthera airport) is a fantastic outing. The drive to get there takes you across the Glass Window bridge with the Atlantic on one-side and the Caribbean on the other - a stunning and beautiful natural spectacle. Harbour Island has numerous restaurants and other tourist attractions and can be toured by renting a golf cart upon arrival at the dock. (The beach is rated as one of the 5 best in the world! - and the beach at Surfsong was comparable!) I give SurfSong my highest recommendation for any group that wants a beautiful, peaceful getaway."

  • Great Guana Cay Vacation

"Had a spectacular stay at Seaside! Access to our boat made it easy to get on the water anytime. Weather was perfect for us and the view from this house left you speechless. We will be back to enjoy another stay very soon."
