  • st. Croix Stay

"The Yellow Bird was beautiful and Unique. The house was spacious, clean, offered plenty of family space but also lots of privacy. The owner Zendarene was just lovely, hospitable and very kind. The grounds are spectacular! Our family really enjoyed our stay and I'd definitely book to visit Yellow Bird again!"

  • Paradise

"Fabulous rental unit! Very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Can easily push the twin beds together and have one King room and one queen room, or have a queen room and one with two twin beds. Great fans mounted in the corners of each room in addition to the AC, made for very comfortable sleeping conditions. Very close to beautiful beach with white sand and turquoise water. Will definitely be back and would rent this unit."

  • A week in paradise

"We just returned from a week at Elkadia. We were six... myself, my 15 year-old daughter, my 25 year-old son, his girlfriend, and my 2 parents (age 81 & 82). The house was perfect for us. From coffee in the morning right above the ocean, looking out at the fishing boats and keeping an eye out for dolphins (yes, we saw them cavorting one night), to dinners on the veranda, and evening games in the living room, it was the perfect place to enjoy Bonaire. We were 3 divers and 3 snorkelers. The divers enjoyed the rinse tank and the spot for airing out gear, and the snorkelers enjoyed the snorkeling right off the back of the house (a short ladder led down to the clear blue water). The kitchen worked well and had all the necessary equipment for all our meal preparations. The bedrooms were all air-conditioned, each with an adjoining bathroom. It really is a piece of paradise!"

  • Awesome Puerto Rico getaway -- best location!

"This property is clean and exactly as pictured. It is on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view from a balcony equipped with 2 chairs, a cafe table and a hammock. A lovely breeze and ocean sounds create a very relaxing and comfortable living area and balcony. A/C in the bedroom worked well. No problems with hot water. No problems with neighbors. No leaks. I would disregard the previous negative post. WiFi is available now. Best location! This beach was our favorite in PR, and we visited a few other beaches that our tour book highlighted -- nothing compared to Isla Verde! Covered/secure parking is a bonus, as there is so much to see and explore on this beautiful island. Annie and Zahatiel were wonderful hosts. All of the previous reviews are spot-on. They took great care of us. The condo was equipped with everything we might need for adventure and fun. No, it is not fully updated, but we don't need granite countertops to enjoy our vacation. Finally, as budget travelers, my sister and I could not be happier. Dining in PR is a bit expensive. Having a stocked kitchen made it easy to cook breakfast and enjoy coffee each morning. We took advantage of roadside fruit stands, Pinones and Luquillo kioskos, and lichones in Guavate -- and always brought home carry-out to reheat or pack for an excursion. Hiking in El Yunque? Grab the cooler, slice up pineapple, toss in the leftover cerviche and chips, load towels and go! Hit the beach in Farjardo or Luquillo after. And, of course, keep the condo stocked with PR rum for happy hours on the beautiful balcony. Enjoy!"

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
