"Tortuga Kai was a great place to stay for my family! We received a very nice phone call and a welcome packet from the owner before our stay and knew exactly what the condo would be like before we arrived. The condo was very well maintained and the property manager Barbara was very nice. Tortuga Kai is located at a very quiet part of the island. We loved being in a quiet area, we met many locals and felt very welcomed by everyone. We have children and many locals/vacationers staying at the Kaibo Yacht club also had children. All the children played great together in the pool, paddle boarding and kayaking. The owner of Tortuga Kai has a nice selection of snorkels and fins, and other toys for guests to use while visiting. The condo is well equipped with everything and we felt like we were home while on vacation! There is a restaurant within 100 ft or so from the condos called Kaibo. Great place for dinners, staff is extremely friendly. We ventured out to stingray city with a local family we met and had a wonderful time! Red Sail at Rum Point does great tours. The owner of Tortuga Kai has a binder full of recommended tour guides and points of interests. Owner also has a letter posted in binder with places to eat, great snorkel sights, if you are traveling to the Caymans for the first time, read the letter from owner, they did a great job of giving itinerary recommendations! Condo overall was lovely! We will be returning for another visit at Tortuga Kai!"Guest: Gin Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 30, 2014View listing
"My stay at La Finca was the highlight of my Puerto Rico vacation. The staff was kind and helpful, not to mention generous. Our room was paradise. Mangos fell outside our door, we ate starfruit off of the trees, used the free snorkeling gear, and checked out the recommended local eateries. La Finca is beautiful, and I can't wait to go back!"Guest: Carrie A. Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 23, 2014View listing
"Pelican Vista was the perfect home away from home for our family of nine to enjoy the beautiful island of Turks and Caicos. The outdoor living space was decadent - gorgeous large pool with a massive swim-up Tiki bar including modern grill and outdoor mini fridge for convenience. The place is wired smartly - you can hear music from any room in the house, each room with it's own controls, including outside by the bar. The views of the turqouise waters from the upper and top deck were stunning. The top deck was great for star-gazing as well. Each of the 4 bedrooms was its own large master suite, meaning no rocks, paper, scissors over who gets the largest room. It was a relatively short walk to the pristine white sand beach, and once you get to the beach, you have two directions to choose from on where to stake your spot. We can't thank Basia enough for taking great care of us and making good on her promise of an incredible Villa and vacation. She was easy and fun to work with, and truly knows how to run a tight ship. Pelican Vista truly is paradise, and a place that will have you daydreaming for weeks after you leave."Guest: A. Hon Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 25, 2014View listing
"We stayed at this condo for just one night at the end of a week long sailing trip. Very convenient to the ferry dock, restaurants, shops, etc. Condo is immaculate and very comfortable. Only issue we had was not being able to stay longer. Owner was very helpful in arranging the stay. Description and photos on VRBO match the real life experience."Guest: Sailor Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 24, 2014View listing
St. Barthelemy Travel Tips
Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals
St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.
VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas
St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.
Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals
Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.
Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy
St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
