  • Best Villa Vacation Ever!

"This was a last minute booking but the owners went above and beyond to insure our trip was stress free. Unexpected to us, Leslie the butler met us at the airport with the driver, and made it his mission to take care for the rest of the week. The owners who live in Florida appear to be very involved in the management of the property and it shows. We arrived to chilled towels and met the rest of the 7 person staff who greeted us with “welcome home”. They endeavored to satisfy us in every way possible for balance of our stay. Never intrusive, always friendly, and available day and night, they quietly went about their daily routines in keeping the Villa and grounds in top shape. As they say, the best Chef’s on the island are found in the better villas and Bambu's Peaches is the best we have experienced in multiple villa stays over 20 years of visits to Jamaica. Leslie joked our first night that the meals would progressively get better each day, but we found every dinner to be equally exceptional. We opted to enjoy all of our meals in the open air dining pavilion which afforded excellent views over to Montego Bay both day and night. Other options included a formal dining room as well as a beautiful terrace area on the ocean facing corner of the property. Peaches’ multi course creations were always served by Leslie, each meal served on a different and unique place setting. All meals were restaurant quality! The villa itself is unique for the area…a blend of Caribbean Architecture (roof lines) with some old world Italian inspired features (arches; iron work) including the statues around the swimming pool which may remind some of a roman spa, or at least the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace (Vegas Edition). The show stopper is the grounds. Multiple levels of well-manicured lawns, fruit trees, palms, dotted with fountains and quiet spaces. Well placed Royal Palms towering over the roof tops give the property a true paradise feel. Not a bad view anywhere. In addition to the usual “free range” island foul, the owner’s love of animals is present on their island estate. The “Arc” as I called it included roaming bunnies, a few peacocks, a friendly Great Dane Pup, goats, and even a parrot who added to the menagerie. The pictures do not do the place justice. We were two and more than comfortable, but Bambu easily works for multiple couples or a larger family because of the many “hiding places” affording on demand quiet time. 5 Star Experience"

  • Beautiful Place!

"It was a time well spent. Even though I was here for only a short time, the memories of this beautiful place will forever remembered. It was peaceful and serene. It was one of the best vacations I had in a long time. The place is a paradise haven!"

  • Dream House

"Good morning, Bonnie. I just wanted to write and to thank you for a spectacular vacation at Casa Sueno. Your home is beautiful, and Carissa is warm, polite, and attentive. My husband and I kept speculating whether or not we were like an episode of "Lost" because we thought we may have died in a crash on the plane and gone to heaven without knowing it. My favorite feature of the house was the way it opened almost completely to the outdoors. The island breezes and the view were incredible, and the total privacy was blissful. Oh, and I certainly don't want to forget to mention that the decor and the furnishings were sophisticated yet comfortable and inviting. We never wanted to leave, but alas, we had to return home to the four-degree temperatures that awaited us. Thanks again for a memorable week. We are looking forward to returning with our two teenagers sometime in the near future."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
