  • Excellent Vacation

"We were in St. Maarten for a week and stayed in this ap[artment in Nettle Bay. The appartment was great. Kitchen with all utensils, a bunk bed or two separate single beds and a closed room with one queen bed. We went with 2 kids aged 3 and 7 and they had a blast. The deck leads to the sand and the beach. So they were in the sand playing as soon as they woke up while we prepared breakfast. very close drive to the best beaches... Whether you like developed beaches like Orient Bay or quiet more secluded ones like Frays bay... we were close to everything. Sylvie the owner was fantastic! very nice, caring, and making sure you have everything you need... we communicated well in my broken french and we could arrange everything for our arrival. The community is gated and very safe, some of the house in the complex are for rentals while others looked like they have people living on them... lots of kids playing around and having fun... it has a pool, that we never tried because we have enough pools in Canada but not beaches, so obviously we were at the beach all day... the beach has some rocks in some parts but there is another part of the complex that is sandy... on the rock part we had fun pulling sea urchins and taking pictures with the kids and the sea urchins, while the sandy part is great for the kids to swim. You cant beat the deck looking at the ocean, having a drink at night listening to the waves while the kids are sleeping... All in all we had a great vacation... Thank you Sylvie!!!!"

  • Thank you so much!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Villa Kir Royal. The owner was responsive and helpful. The house manager was accomodating and kind to us. The property was lovely, ideally located (we explored the entire island and felt we were in the best spot for convenience and beauty); the villa was lovely, homey, comfortable, pleasant and tropical. When we got home, we mixed up a Kir Royal cocktail in honor of our delightful stay! Cheers! We hope to return."

  • Great Vacation Spot

"We have been to Bonaire a total of 18 times, staying at the various dive resorts... so this was our first time staying in a property like this. The Perla Boneriano complex is on the main road, across from Sand Dollar, yet it is very quiet and private. This unit is one story, so there are not other guests sharing the home, and we rarely saw anyone else in the common pool area. (Most of the other 6 units were two story.) Although all the other units appear to have outside rinse tanks, Chikitu appears to be the only one with a dive locker - a great advantage for divers. I could park right next to the tank, clean up my gear, and put in the locker to dry - just a few steps away. The next morning, it went a few feet from the dive locker to the car. The only thing I brought inside was my UW camera. Cleanliness and furnishings of Chikitu were great. The unit was equipped even better than I expected, with beach chairs, a cooler, charcoal grill & rinse bucket in addition to the normal kitchen appliances, and there is a small grocery store right up the street. Diving with Capt Dons, Sand Dollar, Buddy Dive, or Dive Friends is easy - they are all within a quarter mile of the front gate. My wife is in a wheel chair, and Dee was great at making special arrangements. The one shower is equipped with hand rails, and Roy provided us with a shower chair and a small ramp from the common patio area up the 8 inches to the front porch. From that point on, everything is flat & level. We had a great time, and are looking forward to retuning sometime with our grandchildren!"

  • Beautiful tropical paradise

"We just returned from a 10 day paradise vacation. Pelican House is the perfect tropical place to stay. The setting is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The people are friendly, food is great but the best is the location of Pelican House. It sits on the side of a hill overlooking the gorgeous Marigot Bay with a small beautiful beach. Pelican House is perfect as the outdoor living space allows a spectacular view of the area and the sun rises are absolutely wonderful on the deck with a glass of wine. You can just relax or experience the island your choice. Always something to do if you want. Would definitely return, we have been visiting Pelican House for over 10 years now."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
