  • Spring Break at Villa Mo

"Our family recently spent an incredible week at Villa Mo over Spring Break. The house was spacious, comfortable and breezy and the beach access was perfect. The beach is beautiful and private so there are not many reasons to leave the property. The small pool was perfect for the kids. Monica was wonderful, warm and hospitable. She is discrete but was always available if we needed her or had any questions. She was resourceful and helped us plan our activities, transportation and restaurants reservations. She made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Yanni, who helps around the house during the day and prepares the food is great. The rooms were always promptly done up in the morning and the food was well prepared, delicious and ready on time. The town of Las Terrenas is less than 10mins away by car and easy to access. We look forward to many more vacations at Villa Mo!"

  • Beautiful house

"The house is beautiful. The balcony is amazing, the pool is great, rooms are fantastic size, you get two kitchens...there is a lot to like. Abner is helpful and very friendly (as was everyone we met). Brittany was responsive throughout in planning the trip. Chris was really helpful in getting us to and from San Pedro. The resort (Porto Fino) is a nice resource for activities (diving, snorkeling...if you are a diver, make sure to insist on a Wall Dive-- Mexico Rocks Canyon is really great). There are some quirks to staying here. Be aware the getting here takes some doing-- you have to take either a plan or a boat from Belize City to San Pedro, and then another boat that takes you right to your own dock. Not a problem; just know that's coming. There was a problem with the pipes while we were there. The team did a great job of fixing the problem quickly. The water got all over the floor and we had to use a bunch of towels to clean it up. We were told that we were going to get a complimentary cleaning because of this inconvenience, but nobody ever came. The carts were great to have, but came with some quirks as well. They have a hard time when it is muddy and wet on the dirt road that is used for travel. They stall out, and you have to dry the spark plugs to get them restarted. Riding the roads was fun for our group, but it is muddy and stinky, with potential to stall out or get stuck. It would be nice if the cart company would provide more instruction on how to use the carts. When we got there, there were two carts waiting, as promised. However, neither would start and we had to get somebody to come out. They had to replace one of the carts (they had to replace one again later in the trip) and finally got the other going. They then tied to collect more than 125% of the price that I was quoted by Brittany for the carts. I was able to do some negotiation, but be ready for some haggling. Overall, the trip was beautiful and full of adventure. I would certainly recommend staying here if you don't mind being off the beaten path a little bit."

  • St. Lucia DateHouse Villa

"We had never been to St. Lucia before and we needed a minimum of 2 bedrooms ( 4 people) and a full kitchen for our 1 week stay. We found this rental villa on line and, the pictures were very enticing... and, after talking with the owner, Robert, who was very detailed about location, transportaion, restaurants, nearby beaches etc we decided to book the villa. Once we arrived in St. Lucia on saturday afternoon and had a Taxi bring us from the airport to the villa (approximately 1.25 hour drive) we arrived at this place set on a hill above the carribean sea with spectacular views. The on-line pictures actually do not do justice to this home away from home. The views in every direction are amazing. The housekeeper "Ann Marie" had dinner waiting for us when we arrived (at our request because we were arriving late) and she stayed and showed us around. We could not belive how nice the facility was. Very spacious for 4 or more people (4 bedrooms available) and the pool is where we spent most of our time when we were there. We did rent a car and take some tours of the area (left side driving for those coming from the US). We spent 4 out of the 7 days right at the Villa, using the pool and watching sunsets from both the pool area and the Master Bedroom balcony. Total relaxation!! We also walked to the Calabash cove resort to use the beach facilities and we also went to breakfast and dinner one night. less than 10 minute walk... Ann Marie keeps the place immaculate and you have the flexability to have her there as little or as much as you want during the day. We chose to have her there only 2 out of the 7 days. She was very interesting to talk to since she knows the ins and outs of the area. The villa is very safe (has a security system and a front gate so no one bothers you) and we will difintely go back. It certainly beats the resorts and dealing with many other guests competing for chaises, pool space etc.-- this is a very private place."

  • Perfect in so many ways

"My wife and I were in awe the second we stepped foot on the back deck of the Sunflower Studio. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We arrived to a very welcoming basket of snacks, water, and a bottle of bubbly (Mimosas on morning 2 with the hummingbirds and the view was just perfect). Joanie was always happy to answer any questions we had and beyond helpful when we needed to leave a little later then originally planned. The studio was well stocked, clean, and very comfortable. It was close enough to beaches that we ended up back at the Sunflower to make lunch and relax on the deck almost everyday of our stay. Secret Harbor beach quickly became our go to spot as it is a 10 minute walk and a great place to watch sunset during happy hour. Snorkeling on the right side of Secret Harbor around the rocks was great as well. We also spotted white tail deer in the back yard a couple times. The only thing we had to complain about was that we were on vacation and had to leave our little peaceful studio. We will return and recommend. Thanks Joanie and Robert."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
