  • Beautiful water

"We loved the bay at Orchid Bay. Beautiful water which gradually got deeper. Made it great for swimming/boating/kayaking/paddle boarding. The water is aqua, but milky from sediments on bottom. Bottom is gooey with rocks (wear water shoes.) Casita we stayed in was very nice. You have a good restaurant in Orchid Bay, and we found good food at Copper Bank Inn. Also local taco place in Consejo Shores. Be prepared for very rough roads and going over two hand-cranked ferrys on the way, which is very quaint and interesting, but allow for extra time to to get there. Try to travel in daylight secondary to road conditions and poor signage. Gas stations few and far between; plan accordingly. Go with a 4 wheel drive rental."

  • Felicidades Rincon

"My two daughters and I had a great time for a week at Doc's in Rincon over the holidays 2013. Great place with the Lazy Parrot, Banana dang coffee shop and poolside La Familia pizza an easy walk away. The house was comfy and had great views and Cheo was very helpful. Every place Doc recommended was great from food to surf rentals. We especially enjoyed Casa Islena for breakfast and lunch (great subs) beside the sea, Calypso for mojito Monday and fish burritos, and Cofresi for la piratas. Surf was challenging for us 'rookies' but still fun and snorkeling at Steps beach was awesome. Met so many great people (many who knew Doc). We hope to come back someday. Felicidades."

  • THE PERFECT CHOICE

"To all the outstanding reviews submitted by those privileged to enjoy this truly fantastic island home, we say a hearty AMEN ! For our family gathering of ten, six adults and four grandsons age 15 to 6 , a more perfect place to spend a memorable week would be hard to imagine. Our delightful odyssey began with the unending pre-arrival assistance graciously offered by the home's ever accommodating owners , Bob and Polly. No question or concern went unaddressed. How helpful it was to know that they were willing to regularly go above and beyond to respond to whatever we asked. WOW is the first word that comes to mind when , upon arrival , we explored all Villa Bougainvillea has to offer . What is depicted in the photos and more awaited us. You really must experience this abode personally to grasp fully it's beauty and splendor. We never tired of soaking up the incredible vistas that this hillside dwelling provides from each and every room and deck . We found the location to be ideal , close and convenient to everything we wanted to visit. A better home base for those who like to explore or a more blissful place to simply chill out and relax would be hard to find. Take your pick or blend the two. We thoroughly enjoyed the Dawn Beach/ Oyster Pond environs but also ventured out to Orient Beach, Pinel Island, Grand Case, Marigot and Simpson Bay . Whatever one's preference, VB is the perfect launching pad from which to begin. Rather than repeat what others have already said about their stay here, we simply offer the following thought for you to ponder - if you are looking for an outstanding, top of the line home to rent on a beautiful, fun-filled tropical island, that will treat you and yours to an unforgettable sojourn, look no further. Villa Bougainvillea will not disappoint."

  • Relaxing vacation in Beautiful Turks and Caicos!

"Blue Caribe was lovely, and absolutely lived up to our expectation for a terrific family vacation. The deck was a delightful place to read and relax, and especially nice for cooling off on a warm afternoon. The kitchen was the perfect size and it was very easy to find one's way around quickly. We had invited my in-laws to join us, and the layout of the house was perfect for three generations of a family with a variety of different interests. Heather Harrison was a delight from the start, and we loved that Ian keeps chickens! There was a small glitch with a mal-functioning refrigerator when we checked in on Monday, but Heather was terrific and kept us informed as to the scheduled repair. We enjoyed eating at Bugaloo's and Da Conch Shack, as they are on the beach and serve super-fresh fish and conch, as well as tasty rum punches :) I will absolutely recommend this house to friends and family, and we plan to return to beautiful Turks and Caicos. ---Dan and Melissa Campbell"

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
