  • Your search ends here! This house is amazing.

"My family of four (including 13- and 9-year olds) enjoyed a blissful week-long stay at Villa Papillon. Hosts Linda and Mike are very friendly and informative, and happy to help with advice and recommendations. They are close by, so you don't have to worry about inattentive or nonexistent homeowners not returning phone calls. But they will offer you your privacy. Linda cheerfully met us at a supermarket after we stocked up on supplies, and drove us through the twists and turns (and inclines!) of the roads on the mountains of St. Thomas. The gorgeous home is located in a gated community in Peterborg, which is on the peninsula that encloses Magen's Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (5 minutes away - no exaggeration). She and Mike have maintained the property nicely: the beauty of the views can not be overstated. The home is just like the pictures, perhaps even more beautiful because you cannot appreciate the comfortable layout in the photos. The home is remote and peaceful, and we didn't hear or even see neighbors unless we took out the binoculars. We grilled every day while still being able to be together in the pool/hot tub area on deck. We found a well-stocked kitchen with top of the line appliances. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms, though a bit dated, were clean and very functional with ample storage. The home is decorated like a real home, not like a soulless rental. We went to Magen's Bay almost every day (we swam with a giant turtle there), but also made trips to Sapphire and Coki bays for better snorkeling. Be aware: parking is sketchy at Coki, and the surrounding areas are sort of rundown. But fish and coral are plentiful. When we return to USVI, we will stay here again. We didn't even have to worry about mosquitos- the gentle breezes keep them away. Thanks LInda and Mike for a wonderful week!"

"This condo is located directly on the beach so view is amazing. The owner has clearly put time and effort into renovating this unit as it is very modern. His response time for any questions was always within an hour but usually within minutes. Everything is as shown in the pictures. It is ideally located around many resorts and casinos. We took advantage of the Ritz to book all of our excursions as it was in walking distance so we could catch the shuttle from there. The only negative, which has nothing to do with the Owner, is the parking situation but a car is not needed. We rented a car but only used it once to go to Old San Juan. I would highly recommend this rental."

"This was my second trip to Bonaire. Last year I stayed at Pelican Reef beach house adjacent to Villa Ganshi. Choose Villa Ganshi this year because Pelican Reef was already booked. Incredible beach house. Absolutely beautiful location. Private and very comfortable. Came with 2 girlfriends. We referred to the ocean as our pool. Snorkeling and diving in "our pool" was fantastic. Bought fresh tuna from local fishermen which we grilled out on the porch. That, fresh salad from veggies purchased in town and Italian wine purchased just up the street at "Italy in the World" wine and deli...amazing! Scuba diving all around the island was great with the expertise of GOOODIVE (just across main road from Villa Ganshi). Shore dives and boat dives. All dive masters at GOOODIVE are remarkable, fun, experienced and very accommodating. I thank Kees for letting me know about them. Much better experience then the previous year with VIP diving. Dinners in town included At Sea, outstanding food, friendly staff and Mona Lisa, very friendly staff, food was good. Lunch at It Rains Fish was good but overpriced however we did have fun watching the "boat people" (people from cruise ships). Absolutely loved Villa Ganshi. 2 weeks was not enough! I have already booked for 2 weeks next year and am considering extending to 3 weeks!"

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
