  • Great get away from it all

"My friends and I have stayed at this home a few times over the last 5 years. The family continues to do improvements which keeps us coming back. There is now a lovely covered porch with comfortable furniture to sit with a good book, cup of coffee and watch the boats go by below. The kitchen is equipped to cook meals so there is no need to go out. It is off the beaten path which we like - quiet and makes us feel like we are away from it all. Foxy's Taboo is great if you do want to eat out or have a bar experience. There are lots of places to visit in Great Harbor and White Bay but you'll need a taxi or rental car to get there. It is a hike down to the beach so you need to be prepared with good shoes but the beach is quiet and has nice sand."

  • Prime Location and Beautiful Apartment!

"This is a very nice and clean apartment. The location is great, building is very secure and safe. It is fully fully stocked with all you need. I would definitely stay here again. Forget those over priced resort hotels, this place is way better! Rent a car for a couple days to sightsee then take the rest of your stay to relax on the beautiful beach just walking minutes away. My husband and I were very pleased and we can't brag enough about our stay. Thank You!"

  • Even better than it looks!

"Even better than the pics! Stayed at this wonderful property in July and everything was as expected or better. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We were picked up and dropped off from airport, given a short tour when we arrived so we could get oriented and pick up some food at grocery store and even welcomed into their home for Sunday dinner! The hosts live right next door and were available to answer questions, but remained unobtrusive and leave you to your privacy. The property is very clean, well appointed, roomy and within walking distance of the city bus, Cable beach or Sandyport (it's between the two). There is a private inground pool in the back with lights that was a welcomed respite after a long day in the sun, or for just relaxing at the house. The property has everything you need for cooking at home, there is a large grocery store within a 2-3 block walk. We did not have a car but didn't need one, it was easy to get around from there on the buses. The owner even gave us a cell phone to use while we were there, and the number for a cab if out late at night. I went to one of the big resort hotels for a conference immediately after staying, and would have preferred to stay at Cedar Pines. The whole experience made for a wonderful trip and relaxing vacation. Thank You! We will be back."

  • Life savers

"This is a great place to stay off the beaten path. Five minutes to grace bay beach. With the storm shutting down Atlanta airport, our flight was cancelled and we thought we would be stranded for three days until our next flight. Katherine worked with us to get us into another one of their rentals down the street. It saved us from sleeping on the streets. Definitely looking to go back to Turks and staying in one of Wayne and Katherine's places again."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
