  • Honeymoon Stay

"My wife and I rented this villa for our honeymoon. We could not be happier with the outcome of our stay. We absolutely loved out villa. We loved it so much we stayed at the villa, swimming and lying out in the sun until we had to leave in the early evening for our flight. The villa was very private, which was perfect for our honeymoon. We loved the pool area. Leon did an excellent job constructing it (He built this villa himself)! Modern feel inside the villa, but not overly done. Every room is air conditioned, which is a must is St. Barths. Very clean and the kitchen was stocked with all of the tools/ingredients you will need for your stay (pots/pans, cooking utensils, seasonings). All 3 bedrooms are set apart from each other enough so if you are vacationing with your family or other couples, you will have you space. Leon also installed colored lamps under the beds to make things festive ;). Leon and Lawrence were so nice. Whatever we needed they were there to help. Could not ask for better people to rent from. As for location, it was only a 11 minute drive into Gustavia. Everything is so close, so if your are worried about being so far away, don't! I am sure we will be back someday for an our yearly trip, when we do, we will be contacting Leon and Laurence."

  • Wonderful villa in St Bart

"We had a beautiful stay in this fantastic villa with a stunning view. The place is at only 5 minutes away from the most beautiful beach of the island. It is a pleasure to recommend the villa to all St Bart lovers."

  • One of our most favorite places to stay!

"We are world travelers- African safaris, Positano, Santorini, Mallorca, Villa de Este in Lake Como, Barbados and much of the Caribbean, Asia and Villa Fregate is one of the best. We love the island. When we leave the Villa to go to the beach, shop or dine, we return to the Villa, look at ourselves and ask- 'Why did we leave it?' The view, the rooms, the kitchen, the furniture, appliances, internet and wifi plus printer and the attentiveness to detail are tops. We take walks daily just outside of the Villa. Hotel Christopher is down the hill with Mango for lunch and a Sisley Spa. The bakery is a two minute easy drive for daily morning croissants. Pointe Milou is away from the traffic of the main roads and the views are non stop wonderful. The property manager Dawn is excellent and the ladies, Josie and Mona, who clean the Villa are superb. We have been coming now for 7 years- 2 weeks at a time- and are always sad to leave. The good news is we only have 50 weeks until we return. Almost forgot- there is a lot of wind- it is refreshing and keeps the bugs away. In other parts of the island, particularly the leeward side, the bugs- mosquitoes in particular- can be unpleasant but not at Villa Fregate."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
