  • Wonderful stay in Ambergris Caye!

"We just returned from our wonderful trip to Belize and I'm already missing it. This house was perfect for us and our two teenaged kids, a boy and a girl. Each bedroom has 2 Twin beds that can be separated or kept together as a King. Somehow the beds don't separate if you put them together, so there's no falling through the crack and the beds were very comfy. The views of the gorgeous turquoise colored water were amazing and we loved having our own dock to hang out on. This also made it easy for boats to come pick us up for excursions we booked. We did not rent a golf cart and I really don't think one is necessary. We would take the Coastal Express water taxi when we needed to get into town (only twice). The Mata Grande grocery store is an easy walk and although it's small they have all the basics you need. Next door to the grocery store is Aurora's restaurant. It has great breakfasts and lunch at a very reasonable price. The kitchen has pretty much everything you need, but I do wish it had a basic spice cupboard. Other than that, no complaints. The best part of our stay at Castillo de Arena was having William, the caretaker around. He was at the dock to greet us when our water taxi arrived and was so helpful in giving advice about the island. He showed our teenaged son how to spear fish which was the highlight of his trip and he also showed us the best spots to kayak out to and snorkel. On our second to last night William gave us an awesome coconut demonstration for his coconut rice recipe. He also barbecued some fish and lobster that the guys caught during their spear fishing adventures. We really enjoyed our stay at this house and look forward to returning again, hopefully next year!"

  • Beautiful property, directly on beach, perfect!

"You want to stay here. Hands down the most perfect location in NBBC. Directly on the only perfect stretch of this beach which is between two huge rock walls and really, it's your own, you will be likely the only people on it as we were. Walk right out of your huge open wall of doors into the sea, gorgeous clean sand, no rocks, no seaweed, crystal clear water. Let the waves lull you to sleep in your comfortable bed! For a rental, this place was incredible, every item you need, tons of towels, the furniture clean and comfortable. Plenty big for our family of 4. The entire back and side open up to let in the gorgeous sunshine, sea air and view. Oh did I mention the view? Anguilla to one side and Marigot and the mountains of the St. Martin the other. You have never seen a more beautiful sunrise. NBBC itself is quiet and close to everything, parking plentiful, people were friendly and the grounds well taken care of and lovely, the pools looked nice but we didn't use them due to our perfect beach. NBBC is gated with a guard and you can't get onto the beach without coming through the gates. We felt very safe here. Lots of local Europeans living in NBBC who keep their own apartments beautiful with flowers, etc. It's really magical. There is a little french cafe for bakery and espresso a few steps from NBBC, a grocery store and a some really nice restaurants also within walking distance. For all else you will need a car. We will always go back here. Sylvie (the owner) is beautiful as well. Friendly, helpful, checked on us to be sure everything was ok and became a dear friend. A perfect compliment to the villas and apartments she owns. She is truly concerned with having lovely rentals and keeping them nice and taking care of her renters. The microwave broke while we were there, we told her and went to dinner. When we returned, there was a new one. She owns other properties here which are also just as gorgeous, you absolutely cannot go wrong with any of them. Worth every penny and more, just let Sylvie help you choose the proper one for the size of your family/party. She knows what she is doing and wants you to be happy! This is a long review but I can't say enough about this place. I expected so much less and was blown away by what we got. I've stayed at a lot of rentals by owner and this is by far the best, especially for the price. If you want more info on this place from me ask Sylvie. I'm happy to share our experience and she can put you in touch with me."

  • Our Only Regret....We Didnt Stay Longer

"This could not have been the more perfect vacation getaway. The house is beautiful, the property incredibly well maintained and you cannot get a better view. The rooms are large, comfortably furnished and all the extras are more than I have ever experienced in previous vacation rentals. Well stocked kitchen, spices, oils, and personal items, shampoo, lotions, bug repellent, etc. This truly felt like a home away from home. But what really puts this rental over the top is Barbara and her staff. The amount of communication, detailed information and willingness to answer questions was incredible. They have a high standard for attention to detail and hospitality! Marcelle and WIlliam (the caretakers) were incredibly thorough in all the what, whys and hows to navigate Vieques as well as the property. And just in case you weren't listening they have provided helpful little notes around the house. We are looking forward to returning to Vieques and Casa del Marullo would be are only option! We only hope it is available the next time we decide to visit."

  • 5 Year Anniversary Trip

"My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay in the very condo we stayed in 5 years ago on our honeymoon! The 1st time in St John was magical and the 2nd was much the same. The condo is conveniently located close to everything there is to do St John- or at least close enough to the taxis to take you where you want to be. Condo is very clean, comfortable and offered all of the amenities of home. Check in was super easy and FAST. Stacey and Kevin made every effort for a fantastic stay in their home away from home. I cannot wait to return!"

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
