  • Highly recommend

"I’ve recommended this place to everyone I know! You really can go hours without seeing anyone, it’s almost eerie sometimes! Conch Club divers were easy to reach with a quick phone call to get snorkel gear, and the sound in front of the condo is so calm it’s like snorkeling in your own big swimming pool but with barracuda, and HUGE stingrays, and lots of other fish and fun creatures to watch moving around. Be careful walking through the turtle grass, my sister got stung by something. It was mild but distracting. The property is very clean, roomy and comfortable, and the appliances look brand new. The pool bar at Little Cayman beach resort is an easy walk and is yummy and pleasant even though it was swarmed with Packers fans (NFC championship game-day), but Seattle beat them so it’s all good. I would have liked to see the birds up close, if that is even possible. It was great to just look out the back window and get a better view than the ‘viewpoint’ though. I would go back here in a heartbeat!"

  • Best "Margarita Dive Club" trip ever!!

"Cayman Bay Escape was perfectly suited for our 4 couple dive club! We have been to Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Bonaire, Belize and Roatan and this was everyone's favorite spot!!! The kitchen has all the necessary equipment. The dining room, TV room and outside living space is perfect for 8 people. The pool deck is huge and we were able to lay out all of our dive gear easily to dry. THere is also an outside shower to rinse off the equipment. The bedroom with the twin beds was easily transformed into a kingsize bed and the bathroom was located just across the hallway. The other bedrooms/bathrooms were very private on either side of the house and the cottage was perfect for one of our couples. The diving off the property is first class. We saw huge Moray eels, lobster, tons of Lion Fish, and other beautiful fish, corals, sponges, sea urchins...the list goes on...The pool was lovely to sit around and watch both the sunrise and sunset. Michael was easily accessible before our trip for multiple questions. The manager, Barbara, was easily accessible by the home phone. Marcia (sp?) came twice during our week stay to wash sheets and towels and freshen up the kitchen. The island is very friendly and safe. We dove with Deep Blue Divers in town and the 15 minute drive each morning was totally worth it. Nick runs a first class dive operation and Sunny was our favorite boat captain and dive master. Nick provided an almost private boat for our group because we don't like to dive with a large number of people at the same spot. We got to swim with Fin the nurse shark and watch Sunny hunt Lion Fish and feed them to the Snapper! The Spotted Eagle Rays were magnificent, as well as the turtles. We saw lobster, huge crabs, huge Moray eels and smaller Brown eels. THe angel fish and other fish and corals, sponges were spectacular! Can you tell that I am having a difficult time finding the adjectives to describe our vacation!?! *smile* A few things to remember, supposedly your US car insurance will not cover you in GRand Cayman, so if you want insurance it about doubles the price of the car. Also, using a cell phone is very expensive...so check you plans before you arrive. Fosters or Kirks grocery were fine for shopping. The restaurants are pretty expensive so come prepared. We found the Sunshine Grill to have fantastic burgers, fish sandwiches for a reasonable price. There is also Pizza Hut and CHicken/Chicken for take out and cheaper dinner. WIFI was great!"

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
