  • Lankford house is tops for the Brac

"The Lankford House has the best location on the island. The Water is easy to get into and not too windy. This part of the island is very quiet. The house was spotless clean and very well appointed. Most houses on the Brac do not have Air condition but the Lankford house does and you will appreciate it. The outside shower is absolutely fabulous. WI FI is fast and reliable. If your coming to the Brac you want to stay at the Lankford House."

  • A taste of the Islands

"The vacation was a new experience for us, we decided NOT to do the typical resort/hotel accomodations and stay in our own rental house. We found Bryans beach House which was well within our budget and the kind of place we wanted. Cheyenne was very helpful and informative with setting up our reservation and arranging a rental car for us when we got there. We stayed for 10days and really had no complaints. Everything was as expected according to photos on the website, but the views are much more breath taking in person. The weather was great but did get a bit chilly at night with the sea breeze, so bring a sweater. The island was beautiful and people were all very gracious. We would definately go back,"

  • Great home...I would definitely recommend!

"I was traveling solo, so rather than pay double the price at a hotel, I was able to rent this lovely home. It was awesome. The house is beautiful. It is older, but it is big, clean and well worth the money. The pool is beautiful and well kept. Luis is always working his behind off. He was great. The beach is nice, but I would use caution. There is a strong current...didn't bother me as I am use to this and I am a strong swimmer. If you use anddy for tours, I would caution you not to pay up front. Make sure the tour shows up before paying. Also, make sure you nail down times if you are supposed to meet with him. Really enjoyed my vacation and I hope to come back again with some friends."

  • Great Villa with unmatched views of Coral Bay St. John

"Villa Mimosa is one of the best houses my wife and I have stayed at, in our almost 30 years of global travel, including Fiji, Hawaii, Aruba and other tropical destinations. The house is well laid out for multiple couples with separate bedrooms and baths. The pool area is a great gathering place and has a truly spectacular view of the Coral Bay harbor. In the evening as the sun sets you can hear the music of the bay side restaurants live music coming up the valley, very peaceful and relaxing. As others have pointed out the access requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle but this is pretty typical for St. John. The kitchen is very well furnished and the outdoor kitchen and grill area are great for preparing home cooked meals. The house is up to date on electronics and Wi-Fi. The on island property managers Jackie and Tom were extremely helpful in anything asked of them. I would be remiss if I didn't also mention the owner (Nancy) for her assistance in making this stay possible. I would rate this as a better bargain than a condo at the St. John Westin resort, unless you want to be on the beach. We look forward to returning to Villa Mimosa in the future."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
