  • Peaceful paradise

"Our experience at Marbella was 'Heaven on Earth' First, my husband does not enjoy traveling as much as I do; but to my surprise, he absolutely loved this unit. The unit was equipped with all the comforts of home. Full kitchen, split floor plan makes it perfect for two families.. Finally, the views of the Caribbean were amazing! We enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of the plush tropical landscaped resort at such an affordable rate.. Thank you for allowing us to share such a beautiful place in paradise.. We will definitely return again.. Rose"

  • A Perfect Family Holiday!

"To celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, my husband and I took our family to Windrose Estate for a week in February. There were 9 adults in our group and we all loved our holiday! The houses were as perfect as shown in the photos and we were so comfortable with the lovely beach decor and comfortable furnishings. We made most of our meals together in the generous kitchen. We found the grocery store to be close and so convenient. Mostly we enjoyed the water being so close and loved the view from the deck. We loved the warm temperatures but it was cool enough at night so we never felt that we needed to use the air conditioning. The staff who helped us when we arrived were super and it was such a great pleasure to have Basia helping us as we planned our trip. We would all love to go back. It was so relaxing and really just a perfect holiday!"

  • Best Escape from Oregon Winter

"Reef Bay Villa provided a terrific winter escape destination/family reunion site for myself and three siblings and our spouses. The tans are fading but the memories are not. The villa offered plenty of privacy with its three separate buildings for a large group like ours; we would gather in the central great room/kitchen in the morning, have breakfast on the patio next to the pool, decide on our beach destination of the day, and head out to explore the island. Two bedrooms with a shared bath are on the other side of a small patio from the great room building; the two master suites are on the other side of the pool -- this offers great ventilation, terrific views, and privacy, so you are not all on top of each other. The breezes during our February stay were lovely and we never used A/C. Viky, the concierge, was extremely helpful with meeting us at the ferry, getting us to the car rental place and the grocery store, and orienting us to the villa. When the coffee machine went on the fritz, a new one appeared in the kitchen within a few hours of our call. We felt well taken care of. The villa is immaculate and the Balinese touches are unique and beautiful. There is plenty of seating in the great room for after dinnner socializing. One of our favorite things about staying at Reef Bay Villa was the fact that you didn't need a car to walk along the beach below the house all the way to the Petroglyphs, the Reef Bay Sugar Mill, and Lameshur Bay -- and mostly without seeing another person! We mostly cooked dinners together at the villa in the very well equipped kitchen with spectacular views. We had a nice dinner all together in Cruz Bay the first night at the Banana Deck, and ate at Shipwreck Landing in Coral Bay later in the week after an excellent afternoon snorkel sail with Rick and Robin on their Long Distance yacht, recommended by the guest book at the villa. We did pay the $20 fee to park at Caneel Bay but since we ate lunch at one of the restaurants at this very beautiful resort, the fee was waived. Our favorite beach was Cinnamon Bay, where we snorkelled around Cinnamon Cay offshore. The villa provides a cooler for picnic lunches, beach chairs and snorkel gear so we never had to rent. So easy to just arrive, relax and enjoy the island. Thanks to the Ward family for creating such a lovely retreat on St. John."

  • Secluded

"Beautiful sunrises & sunsets. Loved the magic jack which helped us keep contact with business in the states. A fully equipped kitchen allowed us to make delicious meals. We rented a boat and went to Treasure Cay a couple of miles away. Boat ride to Marsh Harbour takes about an hour."

St. Barthelemy Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to St. Barthelemy Vacation Rentals

St. Barthelemy is a small horseshoe-shaped island located near St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It is an independent French territory that once was part of Guadeloupe. The island is more often simply referred to as St. Barts or St. Barths. With its location in the Caribbean, it enjoys a year-round warm tropical climate. The summer months can get humid and most rainfall occurs during this time of year. Typically, the thunderstorms are intense and short-lived. The sunshine often returns afterward and visitors can enjoy clear skies. Occasional tropical storms can blow through during the late summer months. While it is a destination that is visited all year long, the most popular travel season tends to be between December and April. Many people travel from Europe and North America to escape from colder northern climates. At this time of year, it is also less humid and the days are still enjoyably warm.

VIP Visitors to St. Barthelemy Villas

St. Barths has over the years built a reputation for being one of the elite Caribbean vacation destinations. Perhaps it is because it is fairly remote and not particularly well known that it remains a favorite hideaway for European royalty and Hollywood celebrities. Even relatively early on in its history, the island developed a talent for creating commerce which turned it into a relatively wealthy island compared to many of its Caribbean neighbors. The resorts and vacation homes are exclusive and stylish with hefty price tags to match. If it is a remote and private vacation destination that you are looking for, then it's well worth it.

Top Attractions near St. Barthelemy Resort Rentals

Some of St. Barth's main attractions are its beautiful beaches. The island is volcanic in nature which has resulted in a number of secluded coves and quiet beaches. Never far away are superb restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy some local cuisine. The island is a duty-free tax haven and offers some superb shopping facilities. The main streets are lined with glamorous and designer boutiques showing off all kinds of fashions and accessories. It is somewhere where you can spoil yourself with that pair of designer shoes you have been eying for a while. If you would like to enjoy the azure blue ocean, you can arrange a charter on one of the many luxury yachts moored in the harbor. Cruising around the coastline, you can drop anchor near one of the reefs and spend the day snorkeling and swimming.

Getting to Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Barthelemy

St. Barths has a small airport with a tarmac runway but can only accommodate smaller commercial aircraft. Larger commercial aircraft such as air buses cannot land on the island. For international travelers, you will first travel to the neighboring island of the Dutch-governed St. Maarten. From there, you can get a quick 10-minute shuttle flight across to St. Barths. There are several airlines operating shuttle flights, and charter companies are also available for private charter flights. As an alternative routing, you can also fly via Guadeloupe. The regional flight takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes, depending on which airline you choose. If charter flights are your preferred way of travel, you can look into routing via the islands of Antigua or San Juan on Puerto Rico. Once on the island, the easiest way to get around is by taxi. Car rentals and chauffeur-driven vehicles are also available. These can be arranged at the airport upon arrival or by contacting a local operator in advance.
