  • Great Time in a beautiful place

"Jose was great to meet us and give us the quick lowdown on the condo, security, layout, and amenities. We had a great 10 days in beautiful Puerto Rico. The view was so beautiful, morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the Caribbean with perfect temperatures. The location is very convenient to Bio Bay tours, El Yunque National Forest, horse riding in the jungle mountains, Old San Juan, snorkelling on beautiful reefs. We packed in lots of fun into our ten day stay."

  • Vacation in Paradise

"We really enjoyed our vacation at Crystal Cove on Sapphire Beach. The condo was nice, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The grounds are beautiful. The location is great. The owners give you lots of helpful information about the condo and the islands. The staff are nice and helpful. Sapphire Beach is gorgeous! The view of St John and the British Virgin Islands from the beach is breath-taking. The snorkeling from the beach is good. We also enjoyed kayaking there. St John is well worth the short ferry trip. We really enjoyed Trunk Bay on St John. I would highly recommend "The Breakaway" boat day trip to the BVI's. It leaves from next door at Sapphire Marine. The crew were great. It is an awesome day trip! Can't wait to go back!"

  • Home away from home

"First of all, huge thanks to Susan for a great stay and an easy booking experience. Ono Villa could not have be located any better: a short 5-min walk to the beach, stores and restaurants. In addition, the house is very comfortable and well-stocked (Tupperware and good set of knives were much appreciated by this family that loves to cook!). Also, the screened in porch was a refuge for all of us and we spent most of our down time there, eating or reading. Susan was a real pleasure to deal with, replying almost instantaneously to our many questions prior to arrival. We are already planning our return trip to Ono Villa!"

  • "Spectacular View" doesn't even come CLOSE!!!

"We were lucky to stay in Coral Bay for one month this year. Our first week was spent at Mountain Haven. What a tremendous way to begin. Although the photos on this VRBO site are beautiful, nothing truly prepares you for your first walk around the corner on the deck. I kept telling my husband that it was so incredibly beautiful, it looked fake! Well, it isn't. I *worked* every morning from a table and my view was expansive and breathtaking. Every day we would put out sugar for the birds and it was so nice to see them gathering to feast. The place was beautifully appointed inside and out. We found the bed to be very comfortable, the kitchen clean and full of everything we needed. The closet space was most appreciated, as it was quite large. The bathroom was very clean, the outdoor shower (it's in a separate room off of the deck) was very clean and convenient, too. Last, but certainly not least: Part of our experience that really stood out for us this week was the hospitality and friendliness of the managers, Thom and Jackie. From the moment they welcomed us at the Ferry, we felt a bond with them. They are talkative and abound with energy and knowledge about the island. They definitely gave us our private space, but we contacted them to hang out with us on a few deck evenings, too. When we had some trouble with our rental car later in our vacation (and at this point, not even staying at Mountain Haven), we contacted them and they helped us with a solution. We were so appreciative of this and of the property owner's assistance as well. For these and many other reasons, we hope to enjoy Mountain Haven in the future. I cannot get that VIEW off of my mind!"

St. Kitts & Nevis Travel Tips

Getting to St. Kitts and Nevis Vacation Rentals

The primary airport for St. Kitts and Nevis is the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport that is located on the island of St. Kitts. The airport has the facilities to accommodate commercial jumbo jets that operate on long-haul flights. There are regular commercial flights from major European cities such as Amsterdam and Paris. There are also frequent flights from Miami and New York City among other North America destinations. There is only a smaller regional airport on Nevis and most flights route via St. Kitts. Charter and scheduled flights operate daily on smaller aircraft between the two islands. There are also water taxis and ferries that operate on regular daily schedules, weather permitting.

As an alternative routing to get to Nevis, you may also consider routing via St. Maarten or Antigua. Both these destinations have regular flights on to Nevis as well as ferries that operate between the islands on a regular basis. Once on the islands, it is relatively easy to get around. Taxis provide transport to and from the airport and your vacation destination. Car rental is widely available and easy to organize. If you want to do some independent exploring, this will be your best transport option.

Visitors to St. Kitts and Nevis Villas

St. Kitts and Nevis are two islands that attract nature lovers and those who appreciate natural surroundings. The islands have a wealth of cultural attractions for those who enjoy local arts and crafts, and bargaining for souvenirs at the local markets and small shops. The beaches with their beautiful sands are favorite places to laze and catch a suntan. Sun lovers can enjoy their own private share of paradise.

Things to See and Do at St. Kitts and Nevis Resort Rentals

The islands of St. Kitts and Nevis are favored with consistent sea breezes as well as the northeasterly trade winds. This makes it a popular sailing destination in the Caribbean. Both islands have many beautiful beaches. Some are secluded coves where you can enjoy a private picnic. Others are lined with beach bars and restaurants, providing refreshments and entertainment.

St. Kitts and Nevis have interesting histories as they were discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493. It is reported that he sailed past the island but did not land. More than a century later, a group of British settlers decided to make the island their new home. Ruins of fortified walls from these early settlements can still be seen on the islands today. There are several museums which detail the interesting history but perhaps the best way to experience the culture is to meander down the streets seeking out the old colonial buildings, shop at the local markets, and explore the landscapes on horseback. For the more energetic, you can go mountain biking through the interior. There are also several hiking routes and nature trails you can explore.

Best Season to Visit Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Kitts and Nevis

In any given month, you can enjoy warm temperatures on St. Kitts and Nevis. The islands enjoy a warm tropical climate with rain that occurs throughout the year. Rain showers are generally brief and blow over quickly. The exception is during hurricane season when tropical storms bring strong winds and heavy rain that can last for several days. Tropical storms can occur any time between June and November and seem to occur most frequently in August. Humidity is relatively low compared to other Caribbean islands which makes it a more ideal vacation destination. Aside from the stormy season, it is a destination that can be visited all year-round. In general, the popular time of year for tourists is between December and March.
