  • Great Fishing Vacation

"I just returned from a fishing trip at this location, and boy did we have a good time. The view and location is great. The fishing is on fire. It was great to have the dock on the Sea of Abaco side for loading and unloading. Pretty property. I love the Abacos!"

  • Simply Perfect

"My sweet fiancee and I were there for the week of 5/10/15-5/17/15, and it was, as the review title states,- simply perfect. This was my 18th trip to STJ, and while we've stayed in bigger homes with larger parties, this cottage more than suited our needs & was very comfortable. The a.c. in the bedroom kept our sunburn cool at night. The breezes were unreal, and kept us happy, as the weather was perfectly hot and sunny. We opened up the large barn style doors and windows and the breeze naturally cooled the space, thanks to the screened in patio. Throughout the entire week, there was no sign of any unwelcome bugs/critters which was a real surprise having pretty much seen it all over the years. Our favorite bar/restaurant is Aqua Bistro, and we couldn't have asked for a better location! It's literally a minute and a half walk down, and (after a few adult drinks...) 3-4 minutes back up the hill. Just when we started getting tired going back up;- bang, we were there! As another reviewer said, backing up the driveway in the Jeep was tricky the first time, then was a piece of cake. After one of our trips from the beach, we were welcomed home by a family of 6-7 goats that was literally limin' by the pool. They just kind of meandered by us as they left, and were very docile. Can't say that I blame them, the pool deck gets plenty of sun! It was great. The pool was basically the perfect temperature, and we recommend visiting this time of year. We grilled breakfasts (yes, breakfasts!) lunches and dinners, and although the grill area was a little bit dark at night, nothing could take away the magic that this home offered. Exciting and beautiful place to wake up to, as well as to come home to after our daily touring of that gorgeous island. Meeting Marc Miller was like running into an old friend; he was a wonderful host. The fantastic job he does is understated, but to us, more than evident by how we never had a single issue to bother him with. To me, this is a testament to his professionalism, as everything about our stay was just seamless enjoyment. As usual, the pictures on the website can't possibly show how comfy, yet roomy this home was. I somehow wish there was more I could say regarding our happiness with choosing Stone Harbor Cottage, but I'm running out of space! We look forward to our next visit, and in short, thank you for letting us stay in this little piece of heaven. It was simply perfect. Smiles- Jimmy & Amy"

St. Kitts & Nevis Travel Tips

Getting to St. Kitts and Nevis Vacation Rentals

The primary airport for St. Kitts and Nevis is the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport that is located on the island of St. Kitts. The airport has the facilities to accommodate commercial jumbo jets that operate on long-haul flights. There are regular commercial flights from major European cities such as Amsterdam and Paris. There are also frequent flights from Miami and New York City among other North America destinations. There is only a smaller regional airport on Nevis and most flights route via St. Kitts. Charter and scheduled flights operate daily on smaller aircraft between the two islands. There are also water taxis and ferries that operate on regular daily schedules, weather permitting.

As an alternative routing to get to Nevis, you may also consider routing via St. Maarten or Antigua. Both these destinations have regular flights on to Nevis as well as ferries that operate between the islands on a regular basis. Once on the islands, it is relatively easy to get around. Taxis provide transport to and from the airport and your vacation destination. Car rental is widely available and easy to organize. If you want to do some independent exploring, this will be your best transport option.

Visitors to St. Kitts and Nevis Villas

St. Kitts and Nevis are two islands that attract nature lovers and those who appreciate natural surroundings. The islands have a wealth of cultural attractions for those who enjoy local arts and crafts, and bargaining for souvenirs at the local markets and small shops. The beaches with their beautiful sands are favorite places to laze and catch a suntan. Sun lovers can enjoy their own private share of paradise.

Things to See and Do at St. Kitts and Nevis Resort Rentals

The islands of St. Kitts and Nevis are favored with consistent sea breezes as well as the northeasterly trade winds. This makes it a popular sailing destination in the Caribbean. Both islands have many beautiful beaches. Some are secluded coves where you can enjoy a private picnic. Others are lined with beach bars and restaurants, providing refreshments and entertainment.

St. Kitts and Nevis have interesting histories as they were discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493. It is reported that he sailed past the island but did not land. More than a century later, a group of British settlers decided to make the island their new home. Ruins of fortified walls from these early settlements can still be seen on the islands today. There are several museums which detail the interesting history but perhaps the best way to experience the culture is to meander down the streets seeking out the old colonial buildings, shop at the local markets, and explore the landscapes on horseback. For the more energetic, you can go mountain biking through the interior. There are also several hiking routes and nature trails you can explore.

Best Season to Visit Caribbean Vacation Rentals in St. Kitts and Nevis

In any given month, you can enjoy warm temperatures on St. Kitts and Nevis. The islands enjoy a warm tropical climate with rain that occurs throughout the year. Rain showers are generally brief and blow over quickly. The exception is during hurricane season when tropical storms bring strong winds and heavy rain that can last for several days. Tropical storms can occur any time between June and November and seem to occur most frequently in August. Humidity is relatively low compared to other Caribbean islands which makes it a more ideal vacation destination. Aside from the stormy season, it is a destination that can be visited all year-round. In general, the popular time of year for tourists is between December and March.
