"We were supposed to have been a party of four but we became three when my son-in-law had work committments meaning he could not join us, none the less we had a great time at this Island Paradise location. We arrived in S Kitts end of June for two weeks and were very lucky to catch both the music festival and the 20/20 Cricket tournament. My husband loves cricket, so we saw a couple of matches but who knew that us girls would have such fun watching a Jamaica v St Kitts cricket match? My daughter who is expecting her first child loved the on site swimming pool and we regularly spent time exercising, relaxing and reading in the pool and watching the staff carrying out their daily tasks of keeping the complex in pristine condition. We met some of the other guest at the poolside, though it was never too busy. The Condo itself was picturesque, clean, comfortable and homely with everything you could possibly need. It had aircon in the two bedrooms and lovely ceiling frans throughout. Tastfully furnished and a lovely breezy balcony with a great outlook onto the beautiful gardens and pool and a view of the sea. Certainly some of the better looking condos in the area. I rented a car from Bullseye Car Rental, (highly recommended), so we could visit our families in the north of the Island and places such as Spratnet, where we had a great experience and tasty, good value food. Once done with shopping and visiting we could park the car and just relax in the local area where there was so much to do and see. We visited loads of places just a short walk from our condo including brunch at the Marriot Hotel with friends, daily early morning swims at Timothy Beach and returning some evenings for the bbq at Mr X's Shiggidy Shak and entertainment on The Strip. All you need is right on your doorstep including a selection of restaurants and eateries, cashpoints, supermarket, gift shops and taxi rank. I did the rather challenging walk up and over the Penninsular road twice and was rewarded by the sight of a multitude of monkeys on the path leading to the Carambola Hotel, what a feat of achievement. Loved my stay so much I am thinking of returning next year."

"You can read the superlatives in the other reviews. They are true. I just want to add some tips and perhaps some other helpful information for potential guests. This was our first trip to St. Kitts. We are frequent visitors to the islands (Caymans, Bahamas, BVI, Turks & Caicos, etc...) and stayed 2 of the past 4 years at a mountain side villa on Nevis on the Four Seasons property. Rest assured, this Turtle Beach villa is a far better value than the Four Seasons which is itself a pretty amazing place. One thing we loved was being on the windward side of the island yet being just minutes (by car) from the Caribbean thus having best best of both worlds.
Best nearby restaurants/bars are Spice Mill (1 mile). Salt Plage is a new high-end beach bar with a yacht club vibe. Very upscale. Beautiful design. Located just north of the new marina. The sign faces north so it's hard to see coming from the villa and headed back toward the city. Maybe 3 miles away. Carabola beach club was a huge surprise. New and very very snazzy but all opened up to the sea. High end but not too pricey. Maybe 6 miles away...just north of Shipwreck bar. We read in Tripadvisor that when the cruise ships are in then Carabola can be a nightmare so perhaps call ahead. We had a great experience. Also fun but typical Caribbean beach bars are aforementioned Shipwreck and Reggae Beach Bar which is less than a mile from the villa. The personality of Reggae changes based on whether the taxis have dropped off a bunch of cruisers but we went there on several occasions and always had a good time.
If you intend on snorkeling we suggest bring your own equipment. There is none at the house and the rentals are expensive and restrictive.
We rented a 4x4 from Dwayne the property manager. He picked us up at the airport and filled our pantry as well. You MUST have a 4x4 to get around. The villa is in an isolated part of the island. You will be 20 minutes (over 2 mountains) from Basse Terre. This is a good thing. In no way is the location a negative but you must be able to be mobile. Relying on taxis would be expensive and cumbersome.
An additional FYI, we had about a 4 hour gap between when we needed to be out of the villa (10 am.) and when we needed to be at the airport but we wanted to enjoy the day and be able to freshen up before getting on our plane. You can rent a room at the Marriott from 9 am to 6 pm for about $125 bucks. Or just get pool passes.
Enjoy. Home is fantastic."

"The views and privacy can't be beat!! The master bedroom is a dream come true. We left the French doors opened and fell asleep to a Caribbean lullaby of waves and breeze. You will not believe it!
The house was clean! I've rented places before and was disgusted by the dirt. This place was clean!
Things the pictures don't show: the pool has a wonderful ledge all the way around it for sitting on, you can see the ocean looking both ways standing on the deck and the way the whole house opens up with French doors to the outside.
MUST DO: Pereria Tour!! Great time. Snorkeling at the Reggae bar! Watch monkeys cross the road from the pool! Yoga in the little hut facing the ocean!
My ONLY complaint is that we really got into the Reggae spirit at the wonderful Reggae bar nearby and wanted to listen to some music at the house. The electronics equipment would not play any DVDs and the iPod hookup player didn't work either. There is no way to listen to music except the earplugs you bring.
And I really don't know what a tea cozy is..."

"We enjoyed our week at Villa Almandara so much! The home is beautiful and the view is breathtaking. We spent so much time on the amazing patio and in the pool. Hope to return soon! The owners were so helpful and promptly responded to questions. Highly recommend this home rental and St Kitts in general"
