  • Almost Perfection

"Ocean Song Villa is as close to perfection as possible. First, the hosts Penny and Ricky were so wonderful to work with. They were very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. When we arrived, I was in awe of the villa. I loved the many outdoor spaces to choose from, including the hammock at the top of the home, to sitting on the veranda’s cushioned concrete couches, to the Adirondack chairs overlooking the gorgeous views, to the very comfortable patio set where we ate all meals, to the very comfortable lounge chairs overlooking the tremendous views, to sitting in the infinity pool gazing at the sea, to the upper deck off the master’s comfortable lounge chairs for star gazing. The outdoor shower was icing on the cake…it is truly phenomenal to be able to take showers while looking at a gorgeous sea view or gazing at stars. Penny was so helpful in connecting us to all of the resources we needed. We had someone stage the house with groceries we needed for the first few days, Franklyn was very helpful in getting us from the airport to the villa and he even found lobsters for us to cook! He was so very nice and helpful. Pepper, the cat, was fun to have around. He is very friendly. The concept of the beach pavilion is a wonderful concept. It has very comfortable seating and has a well-stocked bar. My biggest disappointment was the beach. Apparently there were big storms in the Atlantic which caused a huge seaweed problem. The beach was nasty and no one cleans it so it was unusable. What a shame because otherwise, we would have found perfection with our choice. In general, most of the beaches on St. Kitts were quite nasty with this seaweed issue. The Marriott seems to clean their beach as does some of the beach bar areas but those are extremely crowded with cruise ship tourists so that was not an option for us. We made our way to Nevis and found a beautiful beach there next to the Four Seasons. However, the ferry ride there and back can be a pain since you never know when it will "really depart"...island time! The road to the villa is quite interesting...very, very bumpy dirt road. Would definitely recommend a vehicle that can handle that. The roads on the southern part of the island are especially bad with many potholes. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Ocean Song Villa and would highly recommend the villa to anyone with the understanding that the beach could be an issue."

  • Perfect Rest and relaxation

"First time renting Turtle Beach House. We stayed on St. Kitts about 10 times. One other time in Turtle Beach area. The house was well appointed. The views are spectacular! We had no house issues for the entire week we stayed and everything went smoothly prior to our arrival all the way through checking out. All expectations were met and the process of renting and understanding all the facets of this house were very comprehensive. Trying to set plans to stay again in the future."

  • Relaxing place, awesome view, good location

"2 weeks in St. Kitts of total relaxation and an awesome time. The suite (there are 2, hint: take Buena Vista), offers an awesome view of Frigate Bay and Nevis Peak. You can hear the splash of waves from the shore below, which makes it very relaxing. The suite is a fairly large studio, akin to a motel kitchenette suite. It more than suited our needs for the duration of our stay. What we truly loved from this studio was, that it was breezy, just open the patio door, a side window, the access door and it stayed cool (even in 30 degree weather). We even tried to sleep without the AC, but had to give up because of wild roosters in the nearby hills, they start singing at around 3:30AM and do not stop. Despite these roosters, the neighbourhood is quiet. We did not get to meet the owner in person, but he is genuinely interested in ensuring that your stay is an enjoyable one. He can easily be reached (maybe even too easy that the manager often got overlooked) and will provide complete information whenever requested. Also thanks to the manager and Rudy the handyman, they helped making our stay enjoyable. PROS: Roomy, breezy, quiet. Suite is reasonably well furnished. Big (new) fridge with a few goodies upon arrival. Washer and dryer proved useful (are reasonably new too) Reasonably close (on foot) to the South Frigate Bay watering holes CONS: Kitchen tools and utensils could use revamping and are limited. Recommendations for the upcoming traveller: Car is definitely needed (driving on the left of the road is fun!!!) Bring along some resealable plastic bags (ziploc type) of various sizes, well worth it. This suite is good for couples of all ages."

  • fantastic palce

"Sorry about being late with this review. We had three adults in our party and one word comes to mind concerning this property...WOW! I have been to most of the Caribbean islands and this is one of the best. The accommodations at our villa were beyond adequate and had everything that a person would need for fun in the sun. i.e. snorkel gear, boogie board, fishing gear..... The kitchen had everything that you would need to prepare your own meals, that's if your not eating at one of the great beach restaurants. We had such a great time that we are definitely returning!"

St. Kitts (St. Christopher) Travel Tips

Favorite Time of Year to Visit St. Kitts Vacation Rentals

Like many other Caribbean destinations, the peak travel season runs from December to April. This is due to a number of reasons. Firstly, it is when many travelers from the northern hemisphere look to escape from the cold winter weather at home. Secondly, it is the more temperate season on St. Kitts when the days are typically warm and dry. In general, the island enjoys a year-round tropical climate. Humidity levels increase during the summer months, owing to frequent rainfall. Tropical storms sometimes blow over the island in the late summer months of September and October. August often sees the heaviest rainfall. If you want to avoid the crowds but still get to enjoy good weather, you may consider traveling in the shoulder season. Often there are great travel specials offered on flights and accommodations that you can take advantage of.

Attractions and Activities near St. Kitts Villas

If you want to experience some of the local culture of St. Kitts, visit the Caribelle Batik Factory. Here you can watch as artisans use wax and colorful dyes to create a wide range of fabric items. This fabric is then used to make dresses, t-shirts and home linens. Basseterre is the island's capital and a vibrant city. There are many monuments and quaint shops that you can explore at leisure. The beaches and beach bars of St. Kitts are legendary. Spend the days working on your tan and in the evenings, enjoy a few cocktails as you watch the sunset.

Getting to St. Kitts Resort Rentals

The main airport on St. Kitts is known as the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport. The airport is modern structure and boasts a host of modern facilities. It can accommodate international flights and has landing facilities for large jumbo jets. The airport hosts regular commercial flights from North America, Europe and South America. There daily direct flights come from major cities in the U.S., such as Miami, Atlanta, and New York City. When searching for flights, you may want to consider routing via one of these cities. The airport is also the main travel hub for connecting flights on to the neighboring islands as there are also regularly scheduled flights to other Caribbean islands.

On the island, one of the easiest ways to get around is by taxi. The taxi rates are generally fixed and charged in Euros. Signs detailing the rates can be found posted at the airport and major taxi stands on the island. Car hire is available on the island and there are several reputable agencies in town. You do first need to obtain a local driving permit even if you have an international driver's license. Most rental agencies will provide an airport pick-up service and assist you with getting your local driving permit.

Visitors to Caribbean Vacation Rentals on St. Kitts

St. Kitts is a tropical paradise that seems to float on a turquoise blue sea. It is the type of destination where you can completely relax, unwind and simply soak up the natural beauty of this island paradise. It is one of the lesser-known Caribbean travel destinations and therefore generally caters to the more affluent traveler. Having said this, dress is still very informal on the island, even when eating out in top-quality restaurants. There are many sporting activities for those who enjoy the outdoors.
