  • Great island, great condo, great vacation!

"We had a very relaxing stay in this beautiful condo. The condo is very clean, spacious, well stocked and beautifully furnished. The owners have thought of absolutely everything. We enjoyed the balcony and the patio doors. There was no need to use the air conditioning as there was always a cooling breeze. We found the door code so much more convenient than having to worry about keys. The biggest problem for us was deciding to spend our day at one of the 3 pools or the nearby beaches. There are many good restaurants within easy walking distance. The island is beautiful and the locals are very friendly and helpful. We were 4 women and always felt welcome and safe. We didn't bother with a car as the taxis are plentiful and not expensive. The owners were very easy to work with and provided us with lots of information and helpful tips. Thank you Wynona for sharing your beautiful home with us."

  • We will be back!

"One word sums up our two week vacation staying at the Ocean Song Cottage on St. Kitts...perfect! Absolutely perfect. The cottage, the island, the location...all a dream come true. Thank you Penny and Ricky for the hospitality and sharing your slice of heaven with us. The only negative thing we can say about our vacation is two weeks wasn't long enough! Can't wait to come back."

  • Relaxing place, awesome view, good location

"2 weeks in St. Kitts of total relaxation and an awesome time. The suite (there are 2, hint: take Buena Vista), offers an awesome view of Frigate Bay and Nevis Peak. You can hear the splash of waves from the shore below, which makes it very relaxing. The suite is a fairly large studio, akin to a motel kitchenette suite. It more than suited our needs for the duration of our stay. What we truly loved from this studio was, that it was breezy, just open the patio door, a side window, the access door and it stayed cool (even in 30 degree weather). We even tried to sleep without the AC, but had to give up because of wild roosters in the nearby hills, they start singing at around 3:30AM and do not stop. Despite these roosters, the neighbourhood is quiet. We did not get to meet the owner in person, but he is genuinely interested in ensuring that your stay is an enjoyable one. He can easily be reached (maybe even too easy that the manager often got overlooked) and will provide complete information whenever requested. Also thanks to the manager and Rudy the handyman, they helped making our stay enjoyable. PROS: Roomy, breezy, quiet. Suite is reasonably well furnished. Big (new) fridge with a few goodies upon arrival. Washer and dryer proved useful (are reasonably new too) Reasonably close (on foot) to the South Frigate Bay watering holes CONS: Kitchen tools and utensils could use revamping and are limited. Recommendations for the upcoming traveller: Car is definitely needed (driving on the left of the road is fun!!!) Bring along some resealable plastic bags (ziploc type) of various sizes, well worth it. This suite is good for couples of all ages."

  • How not to use superlatives ??

"Having considered all the other properties in Turtle Beach, and then viewed them while we were there, I believe we made the best choice of those available for our requirements ( two couples celebrating a 25th Wedding Anniversary, although the property could easily accommodate 6). Location is central in the Turtle Beach area, with easy access, if steep (we did walk the 300 paces to and from the beach once, but it was simpler to just drive up and down the hill and park next to the beach when we wanted to). The access road is very bumpy and muddy at time, so you could risk your deposit with just a Sedan, therefore we found it far better in a Jeep from Bullseye. The double wide door onto the veranda is the star of this property, creating an open aspect, which provides the feeling of being outside, even when you are inside. The roof of the veranda, however also provides full sunshade during the day, so you can actually sit there and enjoy the view without roasting. The accommodation itself was pristine, with all the expected facilities, and enough cooking equipment for a three course meal should the need arise. Air-con was more than adequate. The location is a tadge remote, if you are wanting to travel into Basseterre every day, which in reality was only a 22 minute drive on the empty roads. But perfectly located for the best beaches, so at some point everybody visiting the Island, will have to make the up and down the peninsula trip, so it’s as broad as it’s long in reality. We did visit all the Island Beaches, and in the end divided the majority of our time between the Villa veranda in the morning, and the Shipwreck Bar on South Friars beach after lunch, as the best use of our all too limited days on the Island. All our team agreed that having viewed the Island as a whole, Turtle Beach was the best location for our requirements, and Villa Alamandra the premier spot on it. One of the major unmentioned facilities of Villa Alamandra, is the unrivalled support we received from the owners Buzz and Lisl, with my almost daily pre-holiday queries cheerfully and fully responded to. This enabled us to come fully planned and prepared, and to enjoy our preliminary ‘Sundowner’ 20 minutes after walking into the Villa for the first time, and to be in full holiday mode, with not a moment’s hesitation or deviation from enjoyment, from that time onwards. Thanks B&L, for letting us stay in your stunning home, and allow us to celebrate our 25th in real style and splendour."

St. Kitts (St. Christopher) Travel Tips

Favorite Time of Year to Visit St. Kitts Vacation Rentals

Like many other Caribbean destinations, the peak travel season runs from December to April. This is due to a number of reasons. Firstly, it is when many travelers from the northern hemisphere look to escape from the cold winter weather at home. Secondly, it is the more temperate season on St. Kitts when the days are typically warm and dry. In general, the island enjoys a year-round tropical climate. Humidity levels increase during the summer months, owing to frequent rainfall. Tropical storms sometimes blow over the island in the late summer months of September and October. August often sees the heaviest rainfall. If you want to avoid the crowds but still get to enjoy good weather, you may consider traveling in the shoulder season. Often there are great travel specials offered on flights and accommodations that you can take advantage of.

Attractions and Activities near St. Kitts Villas

If you want to experience some of the local culture of St. Kitts, visit the Caribelle Batik Factory. Here you can watch as artisans use wax and colorful dyes to create a wide range of fabric items. This fabric is then used to make dresses, t-shirts and home linens. Basseterre is the island's capital and a vibrant city. There are many monuments and quaint shops that you can explore at leisure. The beaches and beach bars of St. Kitts are legendary. Spend the days working on your tan and in the evenings, enjoy a few cocktails as you watch the sunset.

Most rental agencies will provide an airport pick-up service and assist you with getting your local driving permit.

Visitors to Caribbean Vacation Rentals on St. Kitts

St. Kitts is a tropical paradise that seems to float on a turquoise blue sea. It is the type of destination where you can completely relax, unwind and simply soak up the natural beauty of this island paradise. It is one of the lesser-known Caribbean travel destinations and therefore generally caters to the more affluent traveler. Having said this, dress is still very informal on the island, even when eating out in top-quality restaurants. There are many sporting activities for those who enjoy the outdoors. There are hiking trails with beautiful views, and many underwater treasures to explore on the local coral reefs. Divers from around the globe come to dive this tropical paradise.
