  • Another Great Stay

"This was a return visit, we stayed at Villa Tranquility several years ago and had fond memories of it. Still well presented and with the extras that we haven't often found in other vacation rentals. This time R & R was our priority and although we repeated a few of our favourite trips (boat trip down to the Pitons, trip into the rainforest where we found we could now zipwire!), much of our time was spent playing golf (thanks to Kris for doing all the bookings and the owners for enabling us to be like members), relaxing by the pool and enjoying cooking in the well equipped kitchen and on that massive BBQ with the view we fell in love with last time. Weather was not quite as perfect on this visit. Couple of days of rain and an impressive thunderstorm (we saw the need for the deep roadside ditches!) but at least the rain was warm and the owners have thoughtfully left plenty of DVD's and books even though we are now "kindled". All in all another great stay. Thanks for sharing what is clearly your home, be seeing you again. Mary and Gavin PS Thanks to Mike the gardner for slicing the top off a a few coconuts from the palms in the garden."

  • Barb

"From the minute we stepped into the property the fabulous view took our breath away. We had dinner a few nights before at he Cliff House (similar view), but this was even better. The layout is very livable with the bedrooms removed from the living area to allow privacy for all. The drive up was a little daunting, but, to be honest we are not used to left hand driving. We did get reasonably comfortable after a while. The staff (Ivy, Shane, Michael) were very nice to us and unobtrusive. The villa was well maintained by them. Some small improvements could be made (broken trash can, chair in need of repair); but, all-in we loved staying here and would not hesitate to return."

  • A month that felt like a beautiful dream.

"I just got home and want to go back already. Our months stay at The Fortress was absolutely more than we could have imagined. The view is totally breathtaking in every direction you look. The hot temperatures with warm breeze every day made you never want to go inside. The pool was perfect to float in and cool off while listening to music, having a cool drink and again staring at the view. The units are very spacious with everything you need to feel at home. The added bonus of the vehicle made it so easy to come and go and do as we please. We lived like a local and loved it. I can not say enough about our most gracious and kind home owners. They made us feel so very welcome and gave us lots of privacy although we loved to spend time with them. They invited us to a St. Lucian home cooked dinner which was so delicious that I had to learn these recipes to make them at home. And they did just that. A few days later they came down to our unit and taught us how to make them. This was another very memorable day. They gave us a prepaid local cell phone with their number programmed in it for any questions or issues we may have had. This certainly added another sense of comfort to our stay on this beautiful island. They checked with us periodically to see if we needed anything. They were our home owners who have become our friends and our St. Lucian family. We will definitely return to this most beautiful island and home."

  • Best Anniversary Ever

"We could not have been happier with the decision to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Cap Pavilion. As other reviewers have noted the location is incredibly beautiful and private. Quite often the hardest decision was where to enjoy our time; the sitting room, the portico, the pool, or the sun deck. After several days it became clear that each had its optimum use; morning tea, sunset, sunrise, mid-day heat, and reading. We arrived on Saint Lucia with an extensive list of restaurants we intended to enjoy. At the end of our stay we had not visited one restaurant. Upon our arrival we were treated first to a gourmet snack and then a dinner prepared by Sandrine. They were fabulous! On day two we decided to sample another day of Sandrine’s cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed the multi-course dinner served in the formal dining room complete with mahogany, linens, china, silver, and candles. The room itself is a very open design void of a fourth wall so you can enjoy the fresh air and the view across the courtyard to the lights of Rodney Bay below. Our definition of the perfect restaurant is built around great food, attentive service, beautiful views, and minimal disruption from neighboring tables. There was no reason to look any further, we had found near perfection in Sandrine and Cap Pavilion. Sandrine agreed to shop, prepare, and surprise us with the menu for the balance of our stay. We could not have been happier for breakfast, lunch, dinner, rum punch, etc. In fact, the relationship eventually morphed into part restaurant, part cooking school. On numerous occasions I found my wife in the kitchen with Sandrine getting lessons on various preparation techniques. The surrounding natural areas were another very pleasant surprise. The photography and hiking opportunities right from the villa were most enjoyable. There is a network of trails (some of which are passable in a jeep) at the bottom of the road that follow the Atlantic coast. With just a three to four mile hike one can enjoy all types of topography; deserted sandy beaches, cactus fields, surf pounded rock structures, and even wild horses. If you follow the trails south along the coast you will come to Case en Bas beach which has a quintessential bamboo beach bar, Marjorie’s….great place to stop for a cold drink. A little further south is Five Dollar Beach (to get a feel for the area, google: The Man Who Won’t Sell Paradise)."
