"We just got back from our stay at La Batterie. AMAZING! Everything about the trip was above and beyond any and all of our expectations.
We decided to hire the staff driver Clavie and did not regret it. Clavie was fantastic with his knowledge of St. Lucia and advice on activities around the island. I would highly recommend using Clavie vs renting a car. Clavie met us at the airport and took us to the grocery story ( even though we already prearranged for some provisions to be at the villa on our arrival). We then made one little pit stop at a local pub on the way to La Batterie.
Upon arriving at La Batterie our initial reaction was WOW! The place was beautiful! Views were breathtaking! We were introduced to Stephanie ( who had just finished making us a delicious welcome meal) and met Terry who was down in the garden roasting fresh coffee beans. We were in paradise!
The week just flew by with all the fun things we did! Lounging by the pool, zip lining, hanging out at the beach, snorkeling, 2 days sailing! The food on the island was so good as well. We chose to have Stephanie cook for us 3 nights and then went out to dinner the rest of the time. I think it was a perfect balance. The beach by the villa is very beautiful and one of the best on the island.
I would highly recommend La Batterie! Michael is a great communicator and went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible trip.
We can't wait to return!"

"Brigand Hill is a wonderful place to stay on this spectacular island. Centrally located on the west coast, the villa provides easy access to a variety of activities all over the island for half or full day trips. It's simple beauty & structure, & impeccably maintained grounds reflect the island itself. It's just enough without being too much. For those who really want to feel immersed in the St. Lucian terrain/climate, it's the perfect place to make your home base. Sitting on a hill above the Anse Galet valley, the villa has surreal views of the rugged topography while providing a glimpse of the Caribbean Sea to its west. The bedroom upstairs in the main building has screened shutters, allowing the constant tradewinds to create a cool & airy environment while you sleep at night or nap during the day. When there's a rainstorm, you can hear it approaching as it comes down the valley & descends upon the house. If you're lucky enough to be sleeping when this happens, this room couldn't be a better place to be. At night, you'll hear the sounds of the rainforest take over, & it's like falling asleep on a perfect summer night. Add a bag of ice to the grocery list so you don't run out using the blender :)
George, the caretaker, is extremely knowledgeable on anything/everything St. Lucia-related. Happy to answer all your questions to guide you in the right direction when making plans, he'll even accompany you on an excursion! He came with us on our Gros Piton hike & barely even broke a sweat! A jack of all trades, he's eager to share his passion for the island. Vera is a love & happily and graciously keeps the house in order during your stay so you don't have to. I'm pretty particular about other people doing my laundry, but she took scrupulous care of my clothes. She even had flowers on the bedspread upstairs upon our arrival - so romantic. Bertilla is a super sweet, talented cook & prepared some really great meals for us. She'll make you anything but I suggest you request some local dishes like christophene casserole, chicken curry, rice & beans, or pumpkin soup - all delish! She set a lovely table every night outside by the pool, specially folded napkins included. This crew left no detail unnoticed and their hard work revealed itself in my experience at the villa. They added elements of ease and welcoming grace to the trip which made the island as a whole even more special. I can't wait to go back to St. Lucia, and I'll definitely be staying at Brigand Hill."

"Peace and tranquility embrace you at the Green Heart!
The ever present ocean breeze, with surprisingly low humidity, envelopes you while the awesome views of the ocean and natural landscape surround you from the spacious decks on all three levels.
Each unit is designed with a very functional layout, with all the essentials to satisfy your day to day needs.
Your personable and dedicated staff made each moment a joy throughout our stay. A sincere thanks to Theresa for keeping the Villa sparkling clean and to Martin, for his focus and daily effort in maintaining and developing the various fruit & vegetable gardens and filling the property with beautiful natural plants and flowers to be enjoyed year round. I've got to say "Hey Boss, your freshly prepared coconut milk special morning pick-me-ups were definitely a treat and appreciated every day :)
Hugs and kisses to our friends Bernie & Carol who ensured all our desires were fulfilled and that “Every Little Ting” was Alright!
It was really nice meeting you Ken, sorry we missed you Diane. But, this was such an incredible vacation, I know we will be back soon to spend time with you both and enjoy St Lucia from your eyes - not to mention being able to visit with all the beautiful people we met there this time.
If you want to feel the real St Lucia, you need to experience it from this kind of environment - where you have the opportunity to meet new friends who are happy to share their island and life style."

"This is a great rental for those who prefer to live like the locals, and not at a resort. The supermarket is just a 5 min bus ride or car drive away in Rodney Bay, and there's also the gas station & convenience store at the entrance to Cas en Bas Road (about a 15 min walk). The accommodations are clean and comfortable, and it was great to have a washing machine. It is located in a quiet residential area, so a rental car is recommended. We did fairly well however on foot and relying on transportation provided by our excursion / tour operators. We rented a car for one day to visit the markets at Castries and to have dinner at Marjorie's Beach Bar (a hidden gem of a restaurant!). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Cas en Bas. Karen and Jerome were very accommodating and we would highly recommend this rental property.
