"Brigand Hill is a wonderful place to stay on this spectacular island. Centrally located on the west coast, the villa provides easy access to a variety of activities all over the island for half or full day trips. It's simple beauty & structure, & impeccably maintained grounds reflect the island itself. It's just enough without being too much. For those who really want to feel immersed in the St. Lucian terrain/climate, it's the perfect place to make your home base. Sitting on a hill above the Anse Galet valley, the villa has surreal views of the rugged topography while providing a glimpse of the Caribbean Sea to its west. The bedroom upstairs in the main building has screened shutters, allowing the constant tradewinds to create a cool & airy environment while you sleep at night or nap during the day. When there's a rainstorm, you can hear it approaching as it comes down the valley & descends upon the house. If you're lucky enough to be sleeping when this happens, this room couldn't be a better place to be. At night, you'll hear the sounds of the rainforest take over, & it's like falling asleep on a perfect summer night. Add a bag of ice to the grocery list so you don't run out using the blender :)
George, the caretaker, is extremely knowledgeable on anything/everything St. Lucia-related. Happy to answer all your questions to guide you in the right direction when making plans, he'll even accompany you on an excursion! He came with us on our Gros Piton hike & barely even broke a sweat! A jack of all trades, he's eager to share his passion for the island. Vera is a love & happily and graciously keeps the house in order during your stay so you don't have to. I'm pretty particular about other people doing my laundry, but she took scrupulous care of my clothes. She even had flowers on the bedspread upstairs upon our arrival - so romantic. Bertilla is a super sweet, talented cook & prepared some really great meals for us. She'll make you anything but I suggest you request some local dishes like christophene casserole, chicken curry, rice & beans, or pumpkin soup - all delish! She set a lovely table every night outside by the pool, specially folded napkins included. This crew left no detail unnoticed and their hard work revealed itself in my experience at the villa. They added elements of ease and welcoming grace to the trip which made the island as a whole even more special. I can't wait to go back to St. Lucia, and I'll definitely be staying at Brigand Hill."

"We had our wedding at Beau Rivage and stayed for 9 nights. We had 7 guests who stayed for a week. It was a great size. We had our wedding ceremony and reception on site and it was wonderful. The photos on the website were reflective of actual - no surprises. It was as beautiful as the photos shown. Sue was easy to work with and very helpful prior and during with answering a lot of questions about the villa, St Lucia, and wedding planning. We haven't been to SL before and she and Kris (house manager) made the planning much easier. The house manager/concierge, cook and housekeeper as part of the rental were great add's and one of the reasons we picked Beau Rivage compared to other villas. Very convenient to get recommendations for tours, restaurants, have reservations made, transportation arranged, and 2 meals cooked per day. We did a catamaran and rainforest tour and most nights ate in the Rodney Bay area. Would recommend the catamaran tour to all. For the first night, we arrived in the evening and took the option of grocery pre-stocking and a meal cooked so we just had to heat up and relax that evening. I'd recommend it. All the staff was helpful to prepare for the wedding. They helped with decoration, partnered with the wedding planning services and catering restaurant to coordinate. We had the wedding on the deck and it was beautiful. We were also able to get to the nearby beach for additional wedding photos. The location was also the perfect size for a reception for a party of 9. It was convenient and less stressful to have everything from make up and getting dressed to ceremony, reception/party right there without having to travel. It also kept the schedule more flexible. The furniture, silverware, glassware ...etc available helped save on rental cost and sound system worked well - DJ was able to set up easily. It was a private, relaxing location - great to have own pool and tiki bar. Also nice that the villa had safes for jewelry I brought for the wedding. The house also has a security system. The only challenge was mosquitoes/bugs which I was told was unusual for January but it did rain for few days (which was unusual) first days when we were there. We had the central area AC turned on (for extra cost) and that helped but some guests got a few bites. Overall great trip - would recommend for vacations, reunions, and intimate weddings!"

"Lots of positives about this place: bright, clean, and furnished simply with modern amenities. As mentioned in other reviews, the washing machine was very nice to have--and though it seems obvious, it was also really nice to have a drying rack and clothespins.
This was really a great little place for the two of us, and conveniently located just a couple of minutes' drive from Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island (which was not on our agenda initially, but a local suggested it, and it became a highlight of the trip). Cas en Bas is just enough outside the main town of Gros Islet that people will be confused when providing directions, but Karen's written directions were very helpful. (A car is essential.)
A couple of things we didn't realize: the plunge pool was one of the top features of the apartment, but because of the position of the sun, the pool is in the shade after 2 p.m. Not anything the hosts can do about that, but it's something to know.
And while it was incredibly nice that there was both 110 and 220 power in many places in the apartment, not every outlet worked that way--the bathroom didn't have a good setup for a place to plug in blow dryers or a curling iron.
I do want to mention just how accommodating Jerome was, and how quick he was to answer our concerns. He went out of his way to help with a problem that had nothing to do with the apartment, and probably seemed silly. But he did his best, and we appreciated the help."
