  • Great View, Great Cottage, Great Location

"My Girlfriend and I stayed in the cottage for a week in November and had a fantastic time! The cottage resides in a very interesting geological location (collapsed volcano crater) hence, the pitons, amazing topography and views. Don't worry, the volcano has been dormant for some 40,000 years. The cottage is at a high elevation from the sea, and is on the edge of a small interior rainforest (bug spray is good). We spent a couple days just hanging around the cottage, catching some sun, relaxing and found that it had everything we needed. The remaining days were spent enjoying the many activities and sites (waterfalls, mud baths, views, beaches, snorkeling, zipline, hiking, water taxi's, markets). The location of the cottage is within close proximity to all these things. If you enjoy being independent, and having privacy away from other tourists, this spot is for you, it was perfect for us. I would recommend this location to others, but I can't say it's for everyone. There is a maid (Magdelane) and a gardener (Ferrard) who are present, however, on the first day we met the maid and she asked us what we would like in terms of service. We told her that we were fairly independent people and she should come by every other day just to do the basics... On the first day she came into town with us, showed us around Soufriere and where the grocery store, butcher, bakery and bank were. Looking at some of the other reviews I think she will do more for you if that's what you want. We hardly ever saw Ferrard... From our understanding, he does maintain this property and has a garden down the road, and maintains the roadway leading up to the cottage, he left us fresh bread one day. We thought he was pleasant. In hindsight, I would have asked more questions about the maid before heading out to the property to clarify her role upfront, but we got exactly what we wanted, so it didn't matter. I found the island to be safe and the people warm and friendly. St.Lucia has many exciting things to do as well as having the chill factor (island time). We loved it here on the island, and staying at the cottage offered a unique and special experience that not many other travellers get to have when travelling to St. Lucia.. We loved it here and would go back again. Thanks for letting us use the cottage for the week. It was better then we expected!"

  • Breathtaking, relaxing and fun

"La Galarie is everything promised. In December 2014, we went to st. Lucia to celebrate my birthday with 8 women. We were greeted warmly at the airport and brought to this beautiful house were rum punch and fish fritters were waiting. It truly is the best spot in st Lucia with gorgeous view of the pitons and sunset. It was luxurious but also adventurous. We hiked, snorkeled and took in the local attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was great. There are 5 beautiful bedrooms with great views but we shared beds. Great for couples but we women all had a fabulous time."

  • La Bagatella was our little piece of paradise !

"We were NOT disappointed with this lovely villa at all.... the pictures are accurate and the view is absolutely gorgeous! The villa is very clean , and well maintained. The open air living was a new experience for us ! The villa is spacious and comfortable for 2 couples, as we celebrating a special birthday with our friends! We didn't rent a car, but did refer to a local taxi fellow who drove us on occasion, and was very accommodating. We attempted to walk down the very steep rough road to Anse Chastanet beach ...... I like to walk, but this is not pleasurable at all..... the return walk up was even worse.... everyone refused to walk it again.... we did take a taxi there and back.... for a cost of $ 40 US. I would advise renting a car... if u are the type that needs to be on the go... as the road to villa is treacherous.... but after a few travels u get use to it. We weren't use to or were we comfortable with the concept of having a housekeeper wait on us.... we had a starter pack of groceries provided , and settled the bill on arrival..... we also stopped at grocery store near airport to purchase a few things.... we found meat to be difficult to find.... as we are not very adventurous fish eaters... so we arrived at villa.... hoping the housekeeper could help us purchase some fresh chicken, or steak for us.... however, that proved to be difficult also... and had to settle for what she could get... in all ,it was fine as we had dinner reservations elsewhere on the weekend.... suggest to others in the future, to be specific and direct with your menu choices, and let her do the shopping.... otherwise u will be be managing on your own. Soufriere is abit rough around the edges to venture into, for our liking. We toured the entire island and seen all the highlights by hired car tour... and also took a water taxi up the coast to Rodney bay, Castries, and Marigot bay. We also went to Sugar beach for the day.... was disappointed in most beaches, in how the resorts segregate small scuffy areas for visitors to sit at..... however we had very expensive drinks at sugar beach patio bar... and had a surprise visit of "Bono" and his family ,who arrive by yacht, and sat next to us on the patio ! So I guess those drinks were worth it ! Warning, at Anse Chastenat beach, the area they direct visitors to is sit at is dangerous due to boat traffic..... snorkelers were frequently in the way . Great experience , and had a lovely time !"

  • heaven on earth

"Our stay at the treehouse 1 was magnificent! We have never stayed in a place that is open aired and feeling of nature all around you, with the convenience of wifi, a kitchen, and a window unit in the bedroom that keeps you comfortable at night as you sleep. We enjoyed the company of the treehouse cats, which are not much of a bother as they only really want to be fed. They mostly lay on the balcony and sleep. Charmaine and Clavie (treehouse driver) was always willing to help and answer our questions as needed. Charmaine is a great cook, she had dinner ready for us when we arrived our first night. The plunge pool was nice to cool off quickly after our walks into town and to the beach. If you do walk, be prepared for hills since the treehouse sits up high above the town and beach...thats why you have the beautiful view of the pitons!! You will find yourself it awe when you see the pitons from the balcony. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony, staring at the pitons, just absorbing the serene sight of them. We hiked up to the top of the mountain that the treehouse sits on, what a sight you must see! If you are a scuba diver, Chester at Action Adventure Divers is the guy you want to see. He is so nice, helpful and wants to make your dives the best they can be. He is very honest and a good guy. He owns the dive shop. And his daughter was adorable and very friendly, she had fun with everyone visiting the shop ;) what a sight under the waves! Beautiful corals and a variety of life you will see. All in all, staying at the treehouse gave us the opportunity to make long lasting memories for my husband and I and we are so thankful for Sam, Charmaine, and Clavie to help us (and spoil us) to make our vacation go so smoothly."
