  • Can't get over that view!

"It's hard for me to decide what my favorite part of the trip was, but I must say that the view from the Fortress is something that may stay with me forever. From watching the sun's first rays wake up the island, waves crashing against the cliffs to the left, sailboats pulling in for the day to the right, and people para-sailing straight ahead, to a sunset that perfectly matches the description you read in romance novels... all with just a most amazing and deliciously cool ocean breeze. The owners were helpful, very friendly, and always gave me enough privacy. The villa was clean, everything worked like it should, and having a vehicle made things even more convenient. It was the pleasant and peaceful break I needed, and will definitely be booking a trip for next winter."

  • Paradise!!!

"We arrived at Natures Paradise tired and a little run down. We were looking for a complete break and had decided to get away because we both suddenly realised that the batteries were flat and a restful couple of weeks away was a priority. I found Natures Paradise on the net and with the encouragement and help from Trip Advisor soon found the stunning photographs of the cottages overlooking the Carribean Sea. After a few e mails to Dave who was on holiday with Wanda at the time in Florence Italy we were sorted and ready to fly away! Joe Joe met us at the airport and so our adventure began. We came to rely on Joe Joe because I found my Driving license had expired!!He was full of St Lucian charm and information as well as being a safe and considerate driver to other road users and his passengers. It was a bit like having an old friend in the drivers seat and we warmed to him.He was almost always available to drive us around to wherever we suddenly decided to go. And so we arrived at Natures Paradise and were warmly welcomed by Dave and Wanda.Dave drove us down to Marigot Bay for our supper and picked us up later on.I slept 10 hours that night and for 10 hours on 4 subsequent nights. The bed in Banana Cottage was so comfortable and the cool wafting air provided by the splcacualr fan above the bed provided the perfect combination for restful sleep. In the morning, after we had marveled at the endless view across the deep blue Carribean and the wonderful grounds and garden of which Wanda is so justifiable proud, Dave gently briefed us about the island and the trips we might make.In the end we did do something every day:the waterfall, the volcano, hotel chocolat,up to Rodney Bay and the Monument, off shore fishing with the lovely Cornelius, the Pitons, the market etc. We had of course planned to do nothing of the kind! We were just goig to chill out! Dave has this very gentle persuasive way with him and without too much cohersion we happily fell in and he guided us around and we are so pleased he did. Dave does appear to be the quintessential laid back New York guy and so he is but he is also a very professional operator and runs and organises Natures Paradise with an eye for every detail. You will be looked after if you wish and left to your own devices if you wish. You want a taxi -it will be booked. You want a resturant booking-it will be done. You want to go fishing/snorkelling/scuba diving-it will be arranged.Nothing is too much trouble. You will feel special.Dave and"

  • La Bagatella was our little piece of paradise !

"We were NOT disappointed with this lovely villa at all.... the pictures are accurate and the view is absolutely gorgeous! The villa is very clean , and well maintained. The open air living was a new experience for us ! The villa is spacious and comfortable for 2 couples, as we celebrating a special birthday with our friends! We didn't rent a car, but did refer to a local taxi fellow who drove us on occasion, and was very accommodating. We attempted to walk down the very steep rough road to Anse Chastanet beach ...... I like to walk, but this is not pleasurable at all..... the return walk up was even worse.... everyone refused to walk it again.... we did take a taxi there and back.... for a cost of $ 40 US. I would advise renting a car... if u are the type that needs to be on the go... as the road to villa is treacherous.... but after a few travels u get use to it. We weren't use to or were we comfortable with the concept of having a housekeeper wait on us.... we had a starter pack of groceries provided , and settled the bill on arrival..... we also stopped at grocery store near airport to purchase a few things.... we found meat to be difficult to find.... as we are not very adventurous fish eaters... so we arrived at villa.... hoping the housekeeper could help us purchase some fresh chicken, or steak for us.... however, that proved to be difficult also... and had to settle for what she could get... in all ,it was fine as we had dinner reservations elsewhere on the weekend.... suggest to others in the future, to be specific and direct with your menu choices, and let her do the shopping.... otherwise u will be be managing on your own. Soufriere is abit rough around the edges to venture into, for our liking. We toured the entire island and seen all the highlights by hired car tour... and also took a water taxi up the coast to Rodney bay, Castries, and Marigot bay. We also went to Sugar beach for the day.... was disappointed in most beaches, in how the resorts segregate small scuffy areas for visitors to sit at..... however we had very expensive drinks at sugar beach patio bar... and had a surprise visit of "Bono" and his family ,who arrive by yacht, and sat next to us on the patio ! So I guess those drinks were worth it ! Warning, at Anse Chastenat beach, the area they direct visitors to is sit at is dangerous due to boat traffic..... snorkelers were frequently in the way . Great experience , and had a lovely time !"

  • The perfect island villa getaway

"Too many good things to say about the "castle on the sea". From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave the view from the veranda is captivating. The view from the rooftop is even better and is amazing for star gazing on a clear Carribean night. Each bedroom is spacious and the private bathrooms attached to each really give everyone their own beautiful private space. The kitchen is large and great for trying your hand at some Carribean cooking with the fresh ingredients readily available at the Vieux Fort market nearby. The pool is an excellent place to pull up a lounger with a rum punch or soak in the soft, perfectly warmed salt water (nicest pool water I've ever soaked in). If the ocean is more your cup of tea; Sandy Beach is right down the road and is great for swimming, kite boarding or windsurfing. I can't say enough about what an amazing time our family had staying in this paradise. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back again!"
